The Xiaomi Mi3 we reviewed yesterday, has been officially priced in India for Rs. 14,999. The phone comes with a 5 inch 1080p screen and a minimalistic design and build wraps around the display to bring forth a solid device. While we discussed about its design, build and ergonomics in our review, we find it apt that the device receive a separate photo walkthrough without too much of text coming in the way. So, here you go, a separate photo gallery for the Xiaomi Mi3, which, in case you are planning to get one, could be helpful. The black variant looks dark and stealthy which is a good thing. However, it does look like a Nokia N9 without the curved back. The body is a single piece of matte plastic that tends to gather a lot of fingerprints and smudges over the period of use. The Mi logo is made visible on the front as well as the back, and it's flashy, with a gloss that reminds us of the Apple logos on the back of iPhones. If the design wasn't enough, even the buttons are styled to look like the N9. The attention to detail is very interesting on the Mi3, as it has ...

Also present at the front of the phone is the LED notification light next to front facing camera. It is 10.3mm thick and weighs 145 grams. It has 3.5 mm audio jack at the top and a micro USB charging port at the bottom. While the power button and the volume rockers are situated on the right hand side edge of the phone. I personally felt that the volume rocker ...

Yesterday, there were reports that paid apps are not working properly on Android Wear devices. Now, it looks like Google has taken the issue in their hands and released a workaround. Under this workaround paid app makers are required to manually package files differently. "The assets/ directory of those apps, which contains the wearable APK, cannot be extracted or read by the wearable installer. The workaround is to place the wearable APK in the res/raw directory instead", said Google on the Android developer blog. Google offers a four-step guide on how to manually package paid apps, and Google says it will issue an update to the SDK build tools that will remove the need for the workaround. The company is accepting that it a temporary workaround and not a final solution for the problem. Google Play Store added a dedicated Android Wear app section last week that has about 25 apps from various categories ranging from health, social, games etc. Currently LG G watch and Samsung Gear Live are the two smartwatches that are running on Android Wear.

The Mannheim Regional Court has ordered to cease all Moto X and Moto G sales in Germany, as the company is allegedly infringing on antenna related patents held by German firm LPKF Laser & Electronics. The patent relates to the process of placing the antenna onto a curved plastic design, which is a process that is fairly common in the mobile world. This technology is also used in Motorola's Moto X and Moto G for wireless radios and hence the court has issued the ban. The court also ordered Motorola Deutschland to recall phones that infringe on the patent. In addition of stopping the sales, the court has also ordered Motorola to pay compensation to LPKF. Samsung out their first LTE-embedded SoC, the ModAP

The LTE revolution is upon us, and more markets are LTE ready than ever before. This has apparently caused Samsung to feel the heat, with other popular fabricators such as Qualcomm already having on-board LTE SoCs in the market. Consequently, Samsung announced the ModAP earlier today, which happens to be their first ever LTE SoC. However, that's probably the only high-end feature (if you like to call it that) the SoC boasts; it comes with what we believe is a rather mildly powered CPU on board, which as mentioned before, comes with 4 cores. No clock frequency info was outed, so it'd be safe to assume this isn't going to be a Snapdragon 801 killer. What Samsung did mention though was that the 4x cores on the CPU use the 28nm manufacturing process. The 4G LTE modem that the ModAP has on board can work with speeds of up to LTE-A, meaning you're going to be future proof with this one. However, it's not yet clear if it'll be full 225Mbps capable or just 150Mbps. According to the company, the ModAP is capable of multitasking, high-res cameras and other usual features that you see on SoCs these days. However, there's no word yet if ...

Samsung's homegrown app store is now called as "Galaxy Apps". The company has revamped  the app store for smartphones and tablets and renamed it along with adding hundreds of apps exclusive to Samsung devices. Galaxy Apps also gets a user interface overhaul along with making it more streamlined and  responsive. The store is now divided into a handful of categories, such as Best Picks, Top, and For Galaxy. It will also highlight special offers as well as apps designed specifically for Samsung products. One of the main reasons for the revamp app store is to segregate app stores depending on the operating system as the company now has devices running on Android as well as Tizen. The Galaxy Apps store started rolling out on Thursday and will eventually be available to all of Samsung's users worldwide.
