Flipkart confirms Xiaomi Mi3 exclusivity with launch teasers

Flipkart, one of India's largest e-commerce retailers, has started teasing the Xiaomi Mi3 on its social media channels, tacitly confirming their exclusive deal with the Chinese company. Flipkart's foray into exclusivity started with Motorola's devices, as the company, recently bought by Lenovo, sought to take advantage of their previously lost distribution channel partnerships here. Xiaomi, on the other hand, is used to selling exclusively on its own websites, even outside China, without the overhead of a traditional distribution channel or advertising, so the Flipkart partnership must have been natural for them. Looking for our Xiaomi Mi3 review? Go here. For a country as big as India, the logistics of just sending a device directly to someone's home would require a mind boggling number of partnerships with various stakeholders, but a partnership with Flipkart would solve that easily, as the company has already established itself, in scale and in trust. Xiaomi probably saw this as a better opportunity for its Indian debut, as the company prepares to enter the smartphone market here, with disruptive pricing. In fact, the Indian market overall is shaping up for a price war, as companies have started to seek different business models to bring the cost down. ...

Xiaomi the Chinese phone maker is all set to enter India tomorrow where the company will officially unveil its products for the Indian market. While most of you including myself are impressed with the design and build quality of the Xiaomi phones, what if something goes wrong, how do I get it fixed? Most of you have been asking us if the company will have service centers in India and we just have some interesting news to share. We just heard from a reader who has supplied us with the service center list and looks like Xiaomi is going to take its India operations quite seriously with service centers in major cities across the country.  You can find Xiaomi India Service Center List after the break. We did speak to some of the service centers in that list and looks like most are multi-brand service centers servicing other brands too. Xiaomi will also have  exclusive service centers starting with New Delhi and Bangalore. While we not could verify the accuracy of the information on the list, the list itself seems authentic and from the company itself. To capture market share in a market like India, any device company needs to get a ...

Samsung Galaxy F aka Galaxy Alpha with metal build to release in August?

We've all heard about this device, the one that's touted as the best looking Samsung phone ever. Not that the Korean maker has done much to change how it looks, but they're definitely said to have changed what it is made out of. Almost all leaks around the Samsung Galaxy F have hinted at a metal build, something Samsung isn't really known for. What we're hearing now is that the device will have a 4.7-inch display (we'd heard rumors of a 5.3-inch one previously) and possibly a 'Galaxy Apha' name. The metal build is perhaps the reason the phone isn't included in the flagship Galaxy S lineup, we're assuming. What's more, even though the device is believed to be carved out in metal, it apparently won't translate into thickness; 6mm is what we're hearing, something which will make it thinner than the iPhone 5S. @evleaks has run a few leaked renders of the device, which are in agreement with the metal build that being talked about. However, with no scale to compare, there are still doubts regarding the screen size, something which might make us wait until launch before its known. And launch, according to ETNews, is slated for next month, i.e., August. Does ...
