LG G3 Stylus, an upcoming LG smartphone has been revealed on official LG G3 Beat promo video. It shows the smartphone with a stylus, similar to the LG G Pro Lite. LG has not released a high-end phablet with a stylus like Samsung, which has the Galaxy Note series. This could happen with the upcoming G3 Stylus. But according to the leaked UAProfile on the the LG website, a smartphone wit the model number D693 with a 960 x 540 pixels qHD display is believed to be G3 stylus. So this could just be a minor upgrade to the G Pro Lite, and not a flagship smartphone from LG. The LG G3 Beat that was unveiled recently comes with a 5.5-inch HD screen and a Snapdragon 400 SoC. The LG G Vista for Verizon has a 5.7-inch HD screen. The G3 Stylus could come with a 5.9-inch or a 6-inch screen. It would come with a Snapdragon processor as mentioned in the video. The lockscreens on all these smartphones in the promo video shows August 19th, so the LG G3 Stylus could be unveiled within the next couple of weeks. Blue Samsung Galaxy S5 to arrive August 17th in the US

To give the current Samsung flagship a touch of style, a Blue colour variant of the device will be making its way soon. The Blue version of the Galaxy S5 will however be available only in the US, in the initial phase at least, via Best Buy. The Galaxy S5 has been on sale for quite a few months now, and it is not often that Samsung pulls off something like this. However, the Galaxy S5 isn't known for its style anyway; Samsung would want to change that. Other flagships such as the HTC M8 and the LG G3 do have a bit more 'oomph' as they say, with their unique exterior looks. Samsung, however, has chosen to stick to the tried and tested design it's been using for a while now. If you're confused what's different from the already available blue version, it's the front: the new Blue comes with monotone whereas the existing one has a black front. It'll be available on a 2 year contract on Sprint, Verizon and AT&T, with a $99 price tag if bought within a week from launch. Via

LG G Watch charging cradle shows up on the Play Store

LG's G Watch isn't best known for it's charging feature; to be more precise, the G Watch's charging pins have been known to corrode with use, which is a worrying sign. In fact, LG released a software update which they claim fixes the issue! Charging cradle for the G Watch, identical to the one you get along with the device is now available on the Play Store for $20. If you've managed to lose the one that's bundled, or just need a spare charging cradle for work, $20 isn't a bad price to pay for it. There's however no AC adaptor included, which is required to make use of the charging cradle. You can use any of your existing AC adaptors, given that they're micro USB compatible and agree with the ratings. It isn't available in all markets yet, but if it is you can get it here - G Watch charging cradle on Play. Via

Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, made a surprise announcement today that the much anticipated Redmi Note phablet with LTE would go on sale in China today. Jun made this announcement via his Weibo (which was followed by an announcement on Twitter), a platform that happens to be China's take on Twitter. Surprisingly, many an executive have taken to Weibo in the past to make their announcements. The Redmi Note happens to be Xiaomi's first phablet, and comes with a 5.5-inch 720p display. The initial non-LTE version of the device comes powered by the MediaTek MT6592. However, this new LTE variant is expected to give the MT6592 a miss for a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, something that Xiaomi did to the Redmi 1S as well. We reported about the leaked pictures of the Redmi Note sometime back, if you might remember. It isn't clear if markets other than China will get the Redmi Note LTE, but we'll keep you updated on this so stay tuned! Source | Via

Samsung and Apple announced in a joint statement that they will drop all ongoing patent lawsuits outside the U.S. However, the smartphone rivals have not yet settled the dispute. The two companies have sued each other in a total of eight countries viz, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Netherlands, the UK, France, and Italy, and all these cases are being dropped, without being settled and without any cross-licensing agreements being negotiated. "Apple and Samsung have agreed to drop all litigation between the two companies outside the United States. This agreement does not involve any licensing arrangements, and the companies are continuing to pursue the existing cases in U.S. courts.” read the joint statement from both the companies. Their dispute started in 2011, when Apple first sued Samsung in the U.S. for copying features of the iPhone. In the U.S., Apple had biggest victory against Samsung with $930 million in August 2012. While the second one came in May this year when the Jurors concluded that Samsung owed Apple only $119.6 million in damages for violating three patents, far below the $2 billion that it had demanded in total. They also decided that Apple owed Samsung $158,400 for violating two patents. via:Bloomberg

Apple is all set to unveil its next iPhone at an event scheduled on Septmber 9, according to a report from Re/Code. The Wall Street Journal and the Bloomberg have also corroborated the date with its own sources. The date would keep things consistent with last year's iPhone 5S and iPhone 5c  launch on Sept. 10, 2013. This year Apple is expected to launch two iPhones, one with a 4.7-inch display and another with a 5.5-inch display. In addition to bigger screens, the so-called iPhone 6 models are expected to feature sapphire displays, which are significantly tougher than Corning’s existing Gorilla Glass. Other credible rumors suggest that the handsets will include faster A8 processors. Yesterday, a new report stated that the larger iPhone model will have a powerful and faster processor than the 4.7 inch one. A report in April claimed that the 5.5-inch model could be delayed until after October owing to battery design issue. Last month The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple, has asked manufacturing partners to produce 80 million units of its larger screen iPhones by December 30.
