Even though Micromax smartphones like A90S, Micromax Canvas 4, Canvas Knight and other Micromax smartphones already use Corning Gorilla Glass protection, the company's upcoming premium line of smartphones would use Gorilla Glass 3.

After the most popular Mi 3 smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 4 is the company's latest flagship smartphone that was unveiled in China last month. Even though the Mi 4 has the same 5-inch 1080p display, similar to the Mi 3 with Corning Gorilla glass protection, the design and the internals have been upgraded. We managed to one from China. Check out the hardware walkthrough and the photo gallery of the smartphone.
The Mi 4 runs on MIUI v5 ROM based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Xiaomi has promised to upgrade to MIUI 6 later this year. As you can see, it has 3GB RAM, compared to 2GB RAM on the Mi 3. But it comes in 16GB and 32GB variants without expansion slot, similar to its predecessor.
It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony Exmor R BSI sensor and f/1.8 aperture for better low-light imaging. It also has the usual set of sensors.
It has a metal frame on the sides that are clearly visible even from the front.
It has the usual set of capacitive touch buttons below the display. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU.

Xolo Q500s IPS in the 500 series was unveiled last month, now the company has announced the Q510s. It has a 4-inch WVGA IPS screen, 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat), 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, similar to the Q500s IPS.
As usual it has dual SIM support and has 3G connectivity. This has 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage with expansion slot and a 1500mAh battery, compared to 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage on the Q500s IPS.

There have been some interesting startup ideas in India in the past, but what BuyHatke has managed stands out in more ways than one. The Indian firm has created a Chrome extension, which according to them greatly increases your chances of being able to purchase the elusive Xiaomi Mi 3.
Indian buyers have had a hard time trying to get hold of the Xiaomi Mi 3. More than 100,000 people have regularly registered to get a chance to purchase the device, which has until now been sold in numbers below 20,000.

Earlier this month Asus stocked 10,000 Zenfone 5 units on Flipkart, after it went out of stock in four days after the launch. It went out of stock again. Now the company has announced that Zenfone 5 would be back on stock on Flipkart with 20,000 units available for sale starting this Monday, August 18, 2014.

Motorola's Moto 360 has made an appearance on Best Buy prior to its launch on September 4th. The leaked posting on Best Buy shows the smartwatch priced at $249.
This makes the Moto 360 $50 cheaper than the $300 Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 while more expensive than the $230 LG G Watch and the $200 Galaxy Gear Live that are Android One devices. In addition to giving out the price tag, the Best Buy listing which was later taken down also revealed specifications of the smartwatch. The round dial of the Moto 360 is 1.5-inch backlit LCD touch screen with a 320 x 290 resolution display along with Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.
The listing claims that the smartwatch sports a heart rate monitor, a pedometer and is water resistant. It describes the CPU as a "Texas Instruments Processor" without any mention of model number or clock speed. Moto 360 will support Bluetooth and be compatible with most devices running Android 4.3 or later. Finally, the specs also indicate that the Moto 360 will be equipped with "Wireless N" compatibility. Microsoft has launched its own version of the ephemeral messaging app dubbed as WindUp. A product of the Microsoft Research, the app will let Windows Phone users send and receive temporary messages and media like audio, video and photo.
Available for Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1, the app allows users to send content that is self destructing. The message can be limited either by time, or a set number of views. The name comes from the idea of “winding up” friends as they race to see what you have posted, the app says in its description.
From the explanation of the app one might think that the app is a competitor for Snapchat, Facebook's Slingshot and Instagram's Bolt. However, Microsoft Research lead, Richard Harper, has denied the fact and explained the real aim of the launching the app.

BlackBerry launched BBM Beta for Windows Phone few weeks back for all the Windows Phone 8 users. Recently BlackBerry pushed a minor v1.01 update for the Windows Phone app that removes the beta tag and also brings bug fixes, performance improvements and speeds up the app load time. It recently said that it has 85 million monthly active users worldwide.
According to the changelog, the v1.0.1.26 fixes issues where BBM displays in English when the device language was set to Spanish. Another minor bug fix update v1.0.1.27 fixes an issue related to accepting SMS invites. The latest v1.0.1.28 update pushed during the weekend doesn't have a changelog yet.
BBM for Windows Phone has several features such as BBM Chats, Groups, Find Friends, Pin to Start and more. BlackBerry already said that it has started working on version 2 that would add Stickers, BBM Voice, Channels and Location sharing features. HTC is rolling out Android 4.4.3 update to One M8 devices in India. The carrier update which is already live has improvements for the camera and the BoomSound speakers. In addition, the update is enabling 4G LTE support to the One M8 devices.
One M8 owners also get OpenSSL security improvements and fixes a bug that prevented the LED notification light from working. The update brings Wifi, Bluetooth and cellular network performance improvements. Sized at 658MB, the 4.4.3 update can be manually downloaded from Settings > About Phone > Software update.
Moreover, HTC has enhanced native applications like Gallery, Camera, Settings, Sync Manager and more in the latest version. The update also comes with Sense UI improvements and tweaks in new power usage history views in the Settings app. Finally, the update has worked on bug fixes as well.

LG Electronics has grabbed nine awards at the 2014 Red Dot awards in Communication Design category. This includes Best of the Best awards for LG G3's graphic user interface (GUI), Smart Keyboard and Knock Code. LG also grabbed awards for webOS Smart+ TV platform for its new approach to smart TVs and intuitive user interface. The LG Smart Keyboard that was introduced with the company's latest flagship, the LG G3 has adaptive technology that learns as the user types, for faster input with fewer mistakes. Motorola is expected to launch its next iteration of smartphones along with the Moto 360 on September 4th. We have heard a number or rumors about the specifications of the Moto X+1 but a latest GFX benchmark listing gives further details about the phone.
The phone has appeared on the GFX benchmarks with model number XT1097. As per the listing, Moto X+1 will likely have 5.2 inch screen with 1920 x 1080 in resolution. It will be powered by 2.47GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor in addition to the Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. There is most likely 16GB of storage of which 10GB is available. The phone will have 12MP rear camera that supports 4K UHD and 2MP front facing camera. Finally, the benchmark shows that Moto X+1 will run on Android KitKat 4.4.4.
Other specifications include Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, and Bluetooth connectivity. Several sensors like gyroscope, light, and proximity sensor are also listed. In June , the Moto X+1 was leaked in images inside a case while in July it had surfaced with a wooden back panel.

We have heard a number of rumors about the iPhone 6 over the past several months. Now, two more developments regarding the batteries of both the models of the iPhone 6 have surfaced in latest leak. Nowwhereelse.fr have shared images of an 1810 mAh battery that will apparently be used on 4.7-inch iPhone 6.
Similar battery rumor was leaked last month indicating 1810 mAh battery but then a Chinese electronics analyst said that 4.7-inch iPhone 6 would actually have a higher battery capacity, pegged at 2,100 mAh. As per the image the purported battery of the device has an Apple part number of 616-0809 and a voltage of 4.35 V. In comparison the iPhone 5S has 1560mAh battery but as the iPhone 6 is expected to sport a higher-resolution screen it is possible that the phone will have a bigger battery.

LG G Watch running on Android Wear went on sale on the Google Play Store in June. Now, a report is suggesting that LG is already making the next G watch that will likely be announced at the IFA 2014.
A new report from the Korean Times is revealing that LG is tentatively naming it as the LG G Watch 2. It is said to feature an OLED display a leap from the IPS LCD display found in the current G Watch. In addition, the new watch will reportedly use a Qualcomm processor, but LG does have plans to use its own Odin processors in the future.
The source claims the watch as “a serious game changer” that will compete with Apple’s highly anticipated iWatch. Android Wear supports two form factors rectangular and circular. Since, LG already has a rectangular dial, the company can go for a round dial for the LG G Watch 2. The source also revealed that LG is planning on working with top watch makers for its upcoming watches. "LG Electronics is being approached by a lot of authoritative watchmakers for strategic collaboration", said an LG official in the report.

Google has acquired a travel based image recognition start-up Jetpac for an undisclosed sum. The firm has created an app that pulls specific items out of publicly available Facebook and Instagram photos to generate city guides.
As a result of the acquisition, the iOS app will be pulled from the App Store in coming days, and support for the service will be discontinued on September 15. Jetpac's technology offers insights to city locales by analyzing pictures of food, decor and people. It automatically scans users’ photos to detect local points of interest like coffee shops or “hipster hangouts.” The app offers customized geographic information as per users needs. The service featured data for over 6,000 cities, according to the App Store description.
Google is expected to use the acquisition by integrating its technology into Google Maps or Google Now to offer enhanced recommendations. Earlier this month, Google acquired smartphone-messaging application Emu and video-creation service Directr Inc., bolstering its mobile and advertising capabilities.
