Samsung has cut the price of the Galaxy Core 2 to Rs. 8,007 in India, soon after the launch of Android One smartphones. Prior to the price cut it was selling for Rs.11,900 on the official eStore, which is the launch price of the smartphone. According to Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, it is available in stores for as low as Rs. 7990.
Google announced nine new OEM partners for Android One earlier this week, but Samsung is not the list. Compared to the specifications of the Galaxy Core 2, these new Android One smartphones from Micromax, Spice and Karbonn are better, and also cheaper. Also, these run on stock Android and would also get directly get software updates directly from Google.
Other smartphone manufacturers could reduce the price of their entry-level to mid-range smartphones following the launch of these Android One smartphones. If you want to get the Galaxy Core 2, you can get it from the official Samsung India eStore at the new price of Rs. 8,007.

Amazon has introduce Kindle Voyage, the company’s new eBook Reader. The 7th generation of e-ink Kindle has a 6-inch display at 300 PPI pixel density and the the built-in light has a new display technology with higher contrast that makes it 39% brighter. It has a new light sensor on the top so that front light automatically adjusts the brightness of the display based on the surrounding light.
The Kindle Voyage also has exclusive flush-front display stack uses specially strengthened glass, designed to resist scratches. The glass is micro-etched in order to diffuse light so that you can read without glare. Another new feature is the new PagePress page turn feature that has a force sensor under the bezel so that you can simply rest your thumb on the bezel and turn the page by lightly pressing. Amazon introduced the new Kindle Voyage and the upgraded Kindle in the U.S. few hours back, it has also launched the new Kindle in India. Amazon has introduced the Kindle Fire HD 6 and has also upgraded last year's Kindle Fire HD with a faster processor. The Fire HD 6 and H7 have 6-inch and 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel displays, faster 1.5 GHz quad-core processors, 2MP rear and a VGA front-facing camera. These run on Fire OS 4 Sangria based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Both these have 1GB of RAM and come in 8GB and 16GB variants. These don't have LTE support.

Amazon has updated its Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet. It has a that same 8.9-inch ( 2560 x 1600 pixels) display, but now it is powered by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, instead of Snapdragon 800 on last year's Fire HDX 8.9. It runs on the new Fire OS 4.0 Sangria based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with 5P f/2.2 lens and a front-facing 720p HD camera.

Xiaomi has announced that 60,000 units of Remi 1S smartphones would be available in fourth flash sale in India. This is 20,000 more than first three sales. It took 3.4 seconds for the company to sell 40,000 units in its third sale earlier this week. This is less than both the first and second sales.
The third sale saw over 3.5 lakh registration, and over 2 lakh people have registered for the next sale so far. Xiaomi did not offer freebies such as scratch guard and SIM adapters for users who ordered in this week's sale, looks like it's the same with next week's sale. Xiaomi temporarily halted Mi 3 sales last month to concentrate on 1S. Will it stop the sales of Redmi 1S after this month to concentrate on Redmi Note ? Only time will tell.

Microsoft is updating One Note app with iOS extension support to iPhone and iPad. The new functionality lets users share content from apps using OneNote.
The One Note app will let you clip the Web, save photos and send file attachments straight to OneNote without leaving the current app. OneNote will appear among your another social media channels like Twitter and Facebook. Users will also be able to transfer their email attachments to Microsoft's cloud.
The OneNote Share extension supports both OneDrive and OneDrive for Business-based notebooks, In order to enable sharing with OneNote, display the Share menu from any app. Then, tap the More button and toggle OneNote to "On" in the Activities list. OneNote will now be available from Share throughout iOS.

Apple today made iOS 8 available for download for iPhone and iPad users. The latest operating system from Apple brings a slew of features and improvements. An array of apps has been updated to iOS 8 and popular note taking app Evernote is one of them.
The Evernote app for iOS 8 now adds a bunch of new features and updates. First up, the version 7.5 of the app adds the web clipping ability that allows users to save photos, documents, and Web pages as notes. They can even start a fresh note from the Notification Center with iOS 8. Evernote can be added by tapping Edit at the bottom of the Today section in the Notification Center.
A couple of premium features are also added to Evernote for iOS8. Paying customers of Evernote can use Touch ID to unlock your passcode-protected account with your finger. They can rediscover useful content from your account in the Related Notes section. Finally, Evernote Business notebooks update in the background if you have push notifications enabled. The Evernote app for iPhone and iPad was last updated in January this year with customizable options and new features.

Samsung has launched its digital entertainment store Club Samsung 2.0 that offers music, movies, videos & mobile TV under its MSC (Media Solutions Center) division.
The move comes from Samsung after unveiling its digital education store dubbed as Smart Learning earlier this month. Currently available for select 14 Samsung devices, Club Samsung 2.0 supports content in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati. Notion Ink has announced a 2-in-1 Windows based affordable laptop for Rs 19,900. The Bangalore based company has teamed up exclusively with e-tailer Snapdeal to launch the Cain 2-in-1 in India.
Powered by Intel Atom Processor Z3735D, the device is running Windows 8.1 and features a 10.1-inch 1280×800 IPS LCD display on a 10 point capacitive touch screen and hence can be used as a tablet as well as a laptop. Google has updated Google Glass companion app for iOS with photo syncing capabilities. The My Glass app will now automatically sync photos to your iPhone.
In order to complete sync the photos taken with Google Glass to your iPhone, you will have to enable Photo Sync in the My Glass app setting. The latest version 0.8.0 brings easier viewing and sharing of the photos. All of the images should be accessible both in the MyGlass app and as a separate MyGlass album in the iOS Photos app. Google also says that the update includes a variety of bug fixes.
The photo sync feature is already available on Android since June. You can download the latest version of the My Glass app from Apple App Store. In April, Google Glass added SMS support iPhone users that allowed them to receive text messages on the Glass.

Opera Software and Micromax have teamed up to pre-install Opera Mini browser on all Micromax Android devices. So far, Opera mini comes pre-installed on about 50 devices inclusive of smartphones and tablets from Micromax.
Opera mini also offers variety of features such as Smart Page notification, Speed dial visual tabs, password manager and even download manager for the mobile phone users. One of the key features of the browser is that it compresses webpages to10% of their original size at the time of browsing. Back in July, Jolla, the smartphone start up company from Finland announced its plan to launch its first Jolla smartphone in India exclusively on Snapdeal. Now the company announced that it would launch the smartphone in India on September 23rd. It was launched in Hong Kong last month.

Amazon has introduce Kindle Voyage, the company’s new eBook Reader. The 7th generation of e-ink Kindle has a 6-inch display at 300 PPI pixel density and the the built-in light has a new display technology with higher contrast that makes it 39% brighter. It has a new light sensor on the top so that front light automatically adjusts the brightness of the display based on the surrounding light.
The Kindle Voyage also has exclusive flush-front display stack uses specially strengthened glass, designed to resist scratches. The glass is micro-etched in order to diffuse light so that you can read without glare. Another new feature is the new PagePress page turn feature that has a force sensor under the bezel so that you can simply rest your thumb on the bezel and turn the page by lightly pressing. It also offers you haptic feedback to let you know that you have turned the page.

Amazon has introduced the Kindle Fire HD 6 and has also upgraded last year's Kindle Fire HD with a faster processor. The Fire HD 6 and H7 have 6-inch and 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel displays, faster 1.5 GHz quad-core processors, 2MP rear and a VGA front-facing camera. These run on Fire OS 4 Sangria based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Both these have 1GB of RAM and come in 8GB and 16GB variants. These don't have LTE support.

Amazon has updated its Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet. It has a that same 8.9-inch ( 2560 x 1600 pixels) display, but now it is powered by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, instead of Snapdragon 800 on last year's Fire HDX 8.9. It runs on the new Fire OS 4.0 Sangria based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with 5P f/2.2 lens and a front-facing 720p HD camera.
It is the first tablet to incorporate Dolby Atmos that would offer enhanced audio with its integrated stereo speakers.

Xiaomi has announced that 60,000 units of Remi 1S smartphones would be available in fourth flash sale in India. This is 20,000 more than first three sales. It took 3.4 seconds for the company to sell 40,000 units in its third sale earlier this week. This is less than both the first and second sales.
The third sale saw over 3.5 lakh registration, and over 2 lakh people have registered for the next sale so far. Xiaomi did not offer freebies such as scratch guard and SIM adapters for users who ordered in this week's sale, looks like it's the same with next week's sale. Xiaomi temporarily halted Mi 3 sales last month to concentrate on 1S. Will it stop the sales of Redmi 1S after this month to concentrate on Redmi Note ? Only time will tell.

Microsoft is updating One Note app with iOS extension support to iPhone and iPad. The new functionality lets users share content from apps using OneNote.
The One Note app will let you clip the Web, save photos and send file attachments straight to OneNote without leaving the current app. OneNote will appear among your another social media channels like Twitter and Facebook. Users will also be able to transfer their email attachments to Microsoft's cloud.
The OneNote Share extension supports both OneDrive and OneDrive for Business-based notebooks, In order to enable sharing with OneNote, display the Share menu from any app. Then, tap the More button and toggle OneNote to "On" in the Activities list. OneNote will now be available from Share throughout iOS.

Apple today made iOS 8 available for download for iPhone and iPad users. The latest operating system from Apple brings a slew of features and improvements. An array of apps has been updated to iOS 8 and popular note taking app Evernote is one of them.
The Evernote app for iOS 8 now adds a bunch of new features and updates. First up, the version 7.5 of the app adds the web clipping ability that allows users to save photos, documents, and Web pages as notes. They can even start a fresh note from the Notification Center with iOS 8. Evernote can be added by tapping Edit at the bottom of the Today section in the Notification Center.
A couple of premium features are also added to Evernote for iOS8. Paying customers of Evernote can use Touch ID to unlock your passcode-protected account with your finger. They can rediscover useful content from your account in the Related Notes section. Finally, Evernote Business notebooks update in the background if you have push notifications enabled. The Evernote app for iPhone and iPad was last updated in January this year with customizable options and new features.

Samsung has launched its digital entertainment store Club Samsung 2.0 that offers music, movies, videos & mobile TV under its MSC (Media Solutions Center) division.
The move comes from Samsung after unveiling its digital education store dubbed as Smart Learning earlier this month. Currently available for select 14 Samsung devices, Club Samsung 2.0 supports content in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati. Notion Ink has announced a 2-in-1 Windows based affordable laptop for Rs 19,900. The Bangalore based company has teamed up exclusively with e-tailer Snapdeal to launch the Cain 2-in-1 in India.
Powered by Intel Atom Processor Z3735D, the device is running Windows 8.1 and features a 10.1-inch 1280×800 IPS LCD display on a 10 point capacitive touch screen and hence can be used as a tablet as well as a laptop. Google has updated Google Glass companion app for iOS with photo syncing capabilities. The My Glass app will now automatically sync photos to your iPhone.
In order to complete sync the photos taken with Google Glass to your iPhone, you will have to enable Photo Sync in the My Glass app setting. The latest version 0.8.0 brings easier viewing and sharing of the photos. All of the images should be accessible both in the MyGlass app and as a separate MyGlass album in the iOS Photos app. Google also says that the update includes a variety of bug fixes.
The photo sync feature is already available on Android since June. You can download the latest version of the My Glass app from Apple App Store. In April, Google Glass added SMS support iPhone users that allowed them to receive text messages on the Glass.

Opera Software and Micromax have teamed up to pre-install Opera Mini browser on all Micromax Android devices. So far, Opera mini comes pre-installed on about 50 devices inclusive of smartphones and tablets from Micromax.
Opera mini also offers variety of features such as Smart Page notification, Speed dial visual tabs, password manager and even download manager for the mobile phone users.
