Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 4, the company’s latest smartphone in the Note series powered by a Snapdragon 805 SoC earlier this month . We already brought you the unboxing of the device, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by an Quad-Core Snapdragon 805 (APQ8084) 28nm HPm Krait 450 CPU clocked at 2.65 GHz with Adreno 450 GPU. Philips I908, the company's top-end smartphone has been listed on official Philips India website. It has a 5-inch 1080p screen, powered by a 1.7GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali 450-MP4 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
It has dual SIM support, 3G connectivity and has leather-like back cover. Philips unveiled i966 Aurora, the company's latest flagship smartphone with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 801 processor and new YunOS 3.0 OS for the Chinese market.

The 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels at 267 ppi is bright, but it is very glossy for outdoor usage since the screen is highly reflective. It offers vibrant color output and has decent viewing angles. Since it is glossy, it is also prone to fingerprints. It already has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. You can also use the bundled protection cover to protect the screen from fingerprints and scratches. The design of the smartphone resembles the Oppo Find 7 or the OnePlus One with curved top and bottom. Overall the design is not that impressive.

ASUS has introduced MeMO Pad 10 ME103K tablet for $199. As the name suggests, the tablet has a 10 inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor.
Running on Android 4.4 KitKat, the tablet has 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card slot. It also comes with 5GB Asus Life Time web storage. Other specs on the tablet includes 2MP rear camera(5MP camera is available on select models) and 0.3MP front shooter. One of the key features of the tablet is the stereo speakers with SonicMaster tech that is a good addition considering the price range.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note Edge, the company's first smartphone with a curved edge screen in their homeground Korea. It was announced at IFA last month and packs a 5.6-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) QHD Super AMOLED display that is curved on the right side that utilizes 160 pixels and gives you access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality even when the cover is closed. The Korean variant is powered by a Octa-Core Exynos (1.9GHz Cortex A15 + 1.3GHz Cortex A7) processor. Asus will release Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its Zenfone series of smartphones along with a couple of Padfone devices. The Taiwanese electronic makers plan about the update has been leaked on company's ZenTalk forum.
As per the forum Asus Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 , Zenfone 5 LTE and Zenfone 6 will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in April 2015. In addition, PadFone S and PadFone Infinity (A86) will also be updated to Android 5.0. While the former will be updated in April along with the Zenfone line, the latter will be updated in June next year.
Earlier this month the Zenfone line received Android KitKat 4.4 update. Asus is also expected to revamp the Zen UI to be in line with the Material Design in Android 5.0. Many other smartphone makers like HTC and Sony are also announcing which of their smartphones will be updated with Lollipop. Yesterday, it was reported that Samsung Galaxy S5 will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop in December.

Celkon has launched XION S CT6595, the company's latest phablet. It has a 6.95-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.4..2 (KitKat). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing camera. We had seen several top-end phablets from several Indian OEMs, but this is one of the few phablets priced less than Rs. 10,000.

Google has supported free phone calls to the U.S. and Canada through Hangouts for over a month. Today, the company is offering free one minute calls for 25 other countries including India. The initiative that is limited till end of 2014 will offer first minute of any international call free for the listed 25 countries.
"For the rest of 2014, the first minute of most calls to 25 countries are free, and you’ll be charged for each minute after. Calls where the first minute are free will say, “First minute free” on the call screen. If you don’t see this message, you’ll be charged for the first minute."

Lava has launched QPAD R704, the company's latest tablet in the QPAD series. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, similar to the QPAD e704 tablet that was launched earlier this year, but this is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor instead of a Broadcom processor. It runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) that is upgradable to Android 4.4 (KitKat), has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. AOC, popular for its LED and LCD displays globally, has appointed Atul Jasra as Business Head for tablets and smartphones in India & other SAARC Countries. Last week there were reports that the company plans to enter the Indian smartphone market with a 6-inch phablet and launch a new tablet in the country in November. As mentioned on the official website, the AOC D70V50G tablet has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, has Dual SIM support, 3G connectivity and voice calling capabilities.
Atul will be responsible for establishing the Tablet and Smartphone business vertical for AOC, said the company. He has 20 years of experience. Microsoft is offering Office 365 subscribers with a special treat. The company is offering unlimited OneDrive storage for all Office 365 subscribers.
Microsoft has increased the storage from 1TB that was announced for Office 362 subscribers in June. The service expansion is rolling out now for home, personal and university accounts. Microsoft says the gradual rollout will happen “over the coming months.Office 365 is the subscription version of Microsoft's productivity suite, which includes copies of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and several other programs.

Samsung Galaxy A7 has made an appearance on GFX Bench. Specs of the third smartphone from the A series has been revealed in this benchmark appearance.
The Galaxy A7 aka the SM-A700 sports a 5.2-inch display with 1920×1080 resolution, according to the GFXBench. It will be powered by 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The rear camera on the Galaxy A7 will be 12MP while there will be a 5MP front camera. Running on Android 4.4 KitKat, the A7 will support Bluetooth, WiFi and 4G LTE.
Samsung is bringing three smartphones in the A series- Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7. We have already seen photos and specs of the A3 and A5. The Galaxy A 7 will be costliest of the three as it will be priced between $450-$500, as per previous report. Also, it is touted that the Galaxy A7 will be sold in selected countries as the device might give a tough competition to its recently launched Galaxy Alpha thereby eating its sales. Sony introduced the Xperia Z3 series that includes, Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and the Z3 Tablet Compact devices at the IFA 2014 last month. At that time the company announced PS4 Remote Play capabilities for these devices that lets you use the phone as a remote screen to connect to and control your games on PS4. Today it has officially released the PS4 Remote Play app on Google Play.
This lets you stream content from PS4 to your Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 compact smartphones and the Z3 Tablet Compact. You can connect your Xperia smartphone or tablet to your home Wi-Fi network and use your DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller to continue your PS4 games on your Xperia device when you are are away from your TV screen.
Sony has promised to bring the PS4 Remote Play features to the Xperia Z2 series including the Xperia Z2 and the Z2 Tablet in the coming weeks. The PS4 Remote Play would be available for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV in Europe starting November 14th. Only the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series will support Remote Play, says Sony.

The Nokia Lumia 530 - available for under £100 with a stellar specs list, this Windows Phone smartphone can do a lot but surviving our stress test is not one of them.
Having been subjected to both ends of our friendly hammer followed by a few chance meetings with a concrete floor, the Lumia 530 arrives at the scene of the third test damaged and bruised.
Chances are the third test won't feel any nicer as we're about to introduce the handset to our car.

So the Lumia 530 does neither - it's not fully working (and even if it was, the screen is already past the point of no repair) but it's still somewhat recognisable for what it is. Google's fitness and health platform Google Fit app has arrived on Google Play Store. Announced at Google's I/O conference in June, the platform will aggregate and collect your fitness data at one place.
Google Fit uses sensors already built in to your Android phone to automatically detect walking, biking and running. And you can set and monitor your fitness goals based on your activity levels. It’s a great tool to discover how active you are and check in on your progress as you work on your fitness goals.

The Fit app will display data from any third-party service that uses the Fit API, which includes the Fit app on Android Wear devices and fitness trackers from Runtastic, Runkeeper, Noom Coach and so on. Samsung Galaxy A5 aka SM-A500 is one of the three smartphones in the A series. We have already seen photos and specs of the phone over the past few months via leaks. Today, the price of the phone has been revealed by a retailer in Kazakhstan.
As per the retail catalouge, the Galaxy A5 will cost 99, 990 Tenge in Kazakhstan, which translates to about $550 or €435. The phone is looking pricey as previous rumors had suggested that the phone will be priced between $400-$450. Moving on, the listing mentions that the phone will feature a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, a metal frame, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a microSD card slot for storage expansion, and a 13-megapixel camera. Its dimensions are listed as 139.3 x 69.7 x 7 mm and its weight might be 123 grams.
However, previous leaks and rumors had suggested that the phone will be powered by a 1.2 quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor. Other specs include 5MP front facing camera, 2,330 mAh battery and will run on Android 4.4 KitKat. Finally, the retail catalouge is set to remain in circulation until November 11th. OnePlus One went up for pre-order on October 27th, however a number of users experienced problems at the time of ordering the much awaited device. The Chinese company's site experienced a massive hit in traffic, causing it to be nearly impossible for customers to process an order.
The problem occurred on the site even after doubling of server capacity before the pre-order that was scheduled for just an hour.In response to the overwhelming demand for the One during the first pre-order event, OnePlus has issued a public apology for the site errors. In addition, the company has announced that it has scheduled a second pre-order on November 17 at 15:00 GMT.
"By waiting a few weeks, we will have time to ramp up our inventory and implement needed changes. It will also give you a chance to express any questions or feedback you might have so we can really improve this next round."

Philips I908, the company's top-end smartphone has been listed on official Philips India website. It has a 5-inch 1080p screen, powered by a 1.7GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali 450-MP4 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels at 267 ppi is bright, but it is very glossy for outdoor usage since the screen is highly reflective. It offers vibrant color output and has decent viewing angles. Since it is glossy, it is also prone to fingerprints. It already has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. You can also use the bundled protection cover to protect the screen from fingerprints and scratches. The design of the smartphone resembles the Oppo Find 7 or the OnePlus One with curved top and bottom. Overall the design is not that impressive.

ASUS has introduced MeMO Pad 10 ME103K tablet for $199. As the name suggests, the tablet has a 10 inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor.
Running on Android 4.4 KitKat, the tablet has 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card slot. It also comes with 5GB Asus Life Time web storage. Other specs on the tablet includes 2MP rear camera(5MP camera is available on select models) and 0.3MP front shooter. One of the key features of the tablet is the stereo speakers with SonicMaster tech that is a good addition considering the price range.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note Edge, the company's first smartphone with a curved edge screen in their homeground Korea. It was announced at IFA last month and packs a 5.6-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) QHD Super AMOLED display that is curved on the right side that utilizes 160 pixels and gives you access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality even when the cover is closed. The Korean variant is powered by a Octa-Core Exynos (1.9GHz Cortex A15 + 1.3GHz Cortex A7) processor. Asus will release Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its Zenfone series of smartphones along with a couple of Padfone devices. The Taiwanese electronic makers plan about the update has been leaked on company's ZenTalk forum.
As per the forum Asus Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 , Zenfone 5 LTE and Zenfone 6 will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in April 2015. In addition, PadFone S and PadFone Infinity (A86) will also be updated to Android 5.0. While the former will be updated in April along with the Zenfone line, the latter will be updated in June next year.
Earlier this month the Zenfone line received Android KitKat 4.4 update. Asus is also expected to revamp the Zen UI to be in line with the Material Design in Android 5.0. Many other smartphone makers like HTC and Sony are also announcing which of their smartphones will be updated with Lollipop. Yesterday, it was reported that Samsung Galaxy S5 will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop in December.

Celkon has launched XION S CT6595, the company's latest phablet. It has a 6.95-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.4..2 (KitKat). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing camera. We had seen several top-end phablets from several Indian OEMs, but this is one of the few phablets priced less than Rs. 10,000.

Google has supported free phone calls to the U.S. and Canada through Hangouts for over a month. Today, the company is offering free one minute calls for 25 other countries including India. The initiative that is limited till end of 2014 will offer first minute of any international call free for the listed 25 countries.
"For the rest of 2014, the first minute of most calls to 25 countries are free, and you’ll be charged for each minute after. Calls where the first minute are free will say, “First minute free” on the call screen. If you don’t see this message, you’ll be charged for the first minute."

AOC, popular for its LED and LCD displays globally, has appointed Atul Jasra as Business Head for tablets and smartphones in India & other SAARC Countries. Last week there were reports that the company plans to enter the Indian smartphone market with a 6-inch phablet and launch a new tablet in the country in November. As mentioned on the official website, the AOC D70V50G tablet has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, has Dual SIM support, 3G connectivity and voice calling capabilities.

Microsoft is offering Office 365 subscribers with a special treat. The company is offering unlimited OneDrive storage for all Office 365 subscribers.
Microsoft has increased the storage from 1TB that was announced for Office 362 subscribers in June. The service expansion is rolling out now for home, personal and university accounts. Microsoft says the gradual rollout will happen “over the coming months.Office 365 is the subscription version of Microsoft's productivity suite, which includes copies of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and several other programs.

Samsung Galaxy A7 has made an appearance on GFX Bench. Specs of the third smartphone from the A series has been revealed in this benchmark appearance.
The Galaxy A7 aka the SM-A700 sports a 5.2-inch display with 1920×1080 resolution, according to the GFXBench. It will be powered by 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The rear camera on the Galaxy A7 will be 12MP while there will be a 5MP front camera. Running on Android 4.4 KitKat, the A7 will support Bluetooth, WiFi and 4G LTE.
Samsung is bringing three smartphones in the A series- Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7. We have already seen photos and specs of the A3 and A5. The Galaxy A 7 will be costliest of the three as it will be priced between $450-$500, as per previous report. Also, it is touted that the Galaxy A7 will be sold in selected countries as the device might give a tough competition to its recently launched Galaxy Alpha thereby eating its sales. The SM-A700 is expected to be officially announced sometime in November.

Sony introduced the Xperia Z3 series that includes, Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and the Z3 Tablet Compact devices at the IFA 2014 last month. At that time the company announced PS4 Remote Play capabilities for these devices that lets you use the phone as a remote screen to connect to and control your games on PS4. Today it has officially released the PS4 Remote Play app on Google Play.
This lets you stream content from PS4 to your Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 compact smartphones and the Z3 Tablet Compact. You can connect your Xperia smartphone or tablet to your home Wi-Fi network and use your DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller to continue your PS4 games on your Xperia device when you are are away from your TV screen.
Sony has promised to bring the PS4 Remote Play features to the Xperia Z2 series including the Xperia Z2 and the Z2 Tablet in the coming weeks. The PS4 Remote Play would be available for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV in Europe starting November 14th. Only the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series will support Remote Play, says Sony.

Recapping the video, it's clear that the Lumia 530 doesn't like our friendly hammer. The flat edge of the Hammer broke the internal LCD very quickly but the Claw did the real damage, destroying the outer display and leaving lots of fine pieces of plastic on the table.

The Nokia Lumia 530 - available for under £100 with a stellar specs list, this Windows Phone smartphone can do a lot but surviving our stress test is not one of them.
Having been subjected to both ends of our friendly hammer followed by a few chance meetings with a concrete floor, the Lumia 530 arrives at the scene of the third test damaged and bruised.
Chances are the third test won't feel any nicer as we're about to introduce the handset to our car.

Google's fitness and health platform Google Fit app has arrived on Google Play Store. Announced at Google's I/O conference in June, the platform will aggregate and collect your fitness data at one place.
Google Fit uses sensors already built in to your Android phone to automatically detect walking, biking and running. And you can set and monitor your fitness goals based on your activity levels. It’s a great tool to discover how active you are and check in on your progress as you work on your fitness goals.

The Fit app will display data from any third-party service that uses the Fit API, which includes the Fit app on Android Wear devices and fitness trackers from Runtastic, Runkeeper, Noom Coach and so on. Google Fit which is touted as Google's answer to Apple's Healthkit, also has a web-based destination at Google.com/fit.

Samsung Galaxy A5 aka SM-A500 is one of the three smartphones in the A series. We have already seen photos and specs of the phone over the past few months via leaks. Today, the price of the phone has been revealed by a retailer in Kazakhstan.
As per the retail catalouge, the Galaxy A5 will cost 99, 990 Tenge in Kazakhstan, which translates to about $550 or €435. The phone is looking pricey as previous rumors had suggested that the phone will be priced between $400-$450. Moving on, the listing mentions that the phone will feature a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, a metal frame, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a microSD card slot for storage expansion, and a 13-megapixel camera. Its dimensions are listed as 139.3 x 69.7 x 7 mm and its weight might be 123 grams.
However, previous leaks and rumors had suggested that the phone will be powered by a 1.2 quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor. Other specs include 5MP front facing camera, 2,330 mAh battery and will run on Android 4.4 KitKat. Finally, the retail catalouge is set to remain in circulation until November 11th. Hence, Samsung might announce the phone before that.

OnePlus One went up for pre-order on October 27th, however a number of users experienced problems at the time of ordering the much awaited device. The Chinese company's site experienced a massive hit in traffic, causing it to be nearly impossible for customers to process an order.
The problem occurred on the site even after doubling of server capacity before the pre-order that was scheduled for just an hour.In response to the overwhelming demand for the One during the first pre-order event, OnePlus has issued a public apology for the site errors. In addition, the company has announced that it has scheduled a second pre-order on November 17 at 15:00 GMT.
"By waiting a few weeks, we will have time to ramp up our inventory and implement needed changes. It will also give you a chance to express any questions or feedback you might have so we can really improve this next round."
