ZTE has launched Grand S II in India at Rs 13,999. Available exclusively on Amazon.in, the Grand S II sports a 5.5-inch full-HD display and is powered by  a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The dual SIM phone has a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera. It has a 2GB RAM with inbuilt storage capacity of 16 GB which can be further added with extra 32 GB. Running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the phone has ZTE's Mifavor UI running on top and motion control gestures. Connectivity options on the phone includes 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and USB. It has a 2500mAh battery. The smartphone that went on sale on Snapdeal last week, packs a 4-inch WVGA display, is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM 8212) processor with Adreno 302 GPU, has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. LG announced the G Watch R, the company’s second Android Wear smartwatch and the successor of the G Watch recently. It  went on sale in the U.S. on Google Play recently for $299. We brought you the unboxing of the G Watch R recently. Now lets compare the LG G Watch R with LG G Watch that was announced back in June. The G Watch R has a circular 1.3-inch (320 x 320 pixels) P-OLED Display while the G Watch has square 1.65 inch IPC LCD display. G Watch R is made from a combination of stainless steel and aluminium, with a plastic back. The G Watch on the other hand is made of plastic. Both the smarwatches are  powered by a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 SoC and have 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. G Watch R has an ambient light sensor hence it can adjust the brightness automatically. Celkon Mobiles officially launched the Celkon Win 400, the company’s first Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone and currently the cheapest Windows Phone smartphone in India at an event in Hyderabad priced at Rs. 4,979. We got to check out the smartphone at the event, here are the first hands-on impressions and the photo gallery of the smartphone. The Celkon Win 400 has a 4-inch (800 x 400 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM 8212) processor with Adreno 302 GPU and runs on Windows Phone 8.1. Google Glass to get Intel chips next year: Report

Google is working on a newer model of Google Glass that will have Intel chips, according to a latest report from The Wall Street Journal. The company at present uses chips powered by Texas Instruments and plans to replace them next year. The report said that the Intel plans to promote Glass to hospital networks and manufacturers. It is also a step from Intel to enter the wearable market along with Internet of Things. Intel’s chips are mostly used in personal computers and servers in data centers, but the company has targeted the tablet and wearable markets for new power-efficient versions of its x86-based processors. It competes with rivals such as ARM and Texas Instruments. Currently, it is not known what kind of processors will Intel supply Google for the Glass. The report did not stated when will the Intel powered Google Glass hit the markets but it is due sometime in 2015. via

XOLO LT200 tablet specs leaked at GFX benchmark

Specs of the XOLO LT200 tablet has been spotted at a GFX benchmark. As per the listing the tablet has 9.2 inch screen with 5 point multi touch and supporting 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) resolution. The tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm’ Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM, 8GGB of internal storage, microSD card slot.  It will sport 8MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter and run on Android 4.4.4. Connectivity options on the tablet include 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. The battery capacity is not mentioned in the benchmark listing. HTC One M7 and M8 GPE devices to get approval for Android 5.0 Lollipop update today

HTC One M7 and One M8 Google Play Edition devices are ready to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The devices are in the final stage of getting the technical approval for Android 5.0 update. HTC is expecting technical approval from Google by December 1st, according to HTC Product vice-president, Mo Versi. Technical approval is one of the last steps before the update rolls out over the air. The update was actually expected to be released early last week but it was delayed. Meanwhile, HTC One M8 and M7 are expected to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update  anytime between January and March. There is no specific date but since it is on the verge of seeking approval, the HTC devices will soon receive the Android 5.0 update. via

Dubbed the Iconia Tab 8, this device is Acer's latest tablet and comes with a Full HD display, quad-core processor and vibrant 8 inch IPS display. Let's take a closer look at Acer's portable tablet. Microsoft acquires mobile email startup Acompli

Microsoft has bought Acompli, a mobile startup that makes email apps for iOS and Android. The financial details were not officially disclosed by either firms but Re/Code is stating that the amount of deal is more than $200 million. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge likely to release alongside Galaxy S6: Report

Samsung will call its next flagship phone as Galaxy S6, according to a new report from SamMobile. The company is also expected to announce Edge variant for Galaxy S6, said the report. Last month it was reported that Samsung is working on Galaxy S5 succcessor which is codenamed as ‘Project Zero’. The phone will sport a QHD  2560×1440 display, however the screen size is still unknown. Galaxy S6 will feature new 64-bit Exynos 7420 and a Snapdragon 810 processor. There will either be a 16MP or 20MP camera on the back and the report believes that it will be the former and a 5MP shooter will be present at the front. Camera sensor on the S6 will be the IMX240, which is already present on the Galaxy Note 4. In addition to the Galaxy S6, the report said that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S6 Edge that will feature a curved-edge display, which is a direct application of Samsung’s Youm technology. LG G Flex 2 announcement tipped for CES 2015 in January

LG launched the G Flex almost a year back and it looks like the launch of its successor is drawing closer. The company is planning to announce the G Flex 2 at CES 2015 in January, according to a latest report from Android Authority. Initially it was believed that LG is going to reveal this device before the end of this year but that certainly did not happen. Similar to the original G Flex the successor is also expected to have a curved and flexible, sporting a P-OLED display. In addition, the G Flex 2 will also have self healing coating that was even present on the original G Flex. Samsung to reportedly launch Tizen based smartphone in India on December 10

Samsung is all set to launch the Tizen based smartphone in India this month.  The company has scheduled the phone launch on December 10th, as per a report from South Korea's Maeil Business Newspaper. Samsung will be launching the Tizen phone in India on December 10 and hold a press conference for the same. Dubbed as Z1 the device is expected to be priced below $100 (INR 6000). Z1 will be a budget phone and sport 4-inch 480x800 display and will be powered by a 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB internal memory ,expandable by up to 32 GB via microSD card support. It will have and 3.2 MP rear camera and support dual SIM functionality and integrated FM Radio. Photos of Android 5.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition have surfaced. Although the update has not been released for this particular device yet,the  leaked screenshots provide us with a preview of Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition running Android 5.0 Lollipop. As expected, it features stock Android UI with Material design and all the features which were introduced with Android 5.0. The update is said to be in beta form and not ready for a complete public roll out. The Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition was initially released with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean last year and was recently updated to Android 4.4 KitKat. As the tech industry moves to convergence with tablets arguably replacing laptops and hybrids replacing both of them, we’re seeing many new devices released that serve the purpose of acting as both your tablet and your laptop. Often all it takes is a keyboard cover like on the Surface Pro 3 but in the case of the Acer Switch 10, this is more than just a keyboard cover. Design The keyboard on the Acer Switch 10 serves as the dock for the tablet part of the hybrid and counts as one of the four positions you’re able to use the Switch 10 in. Aside from work mode (aka as a laptop), the other positions include sans keyboard (aka as a tablet), in presentation mode where you flip the tablet backwards so you can display information on the screen and the Tent mode which is useful when you have a lack of space and want to watch/share something on your display. As a Macbook Pro user, I’m used to carrying around a slightly heavy device but the Acer Switch 10 feels quite light.
