Intel has officially announced its new 5th generation Intel Core processor family. The latest range of silicon’s are designed on 14 nm architecture and is expected to deliver improve system and graphics performance, natural and immersive user experiences and also enable longer battery life as compared previous generations.
The new series of processors are said to be designed to power devices across diverse form factors including the traditional notebooks, 2 in 1s, ultrabooks, chromebooks, desktops PCs and mini PCs. The line-up of the 5th generation Intel processors include Core i3, Core i5, Core i5 vPro, Core i7 and Core i7 vPro processors.
The 5th generation Intel core family processors have 35% more transistors on a 37% smaller die. The new architectural enhancement allows the chip to deliver up to 24% better graphics performance, up to 50% faster video conversion and about 1.5 hours longer battery life as compared to the previous generation.
Furthermore, they offer graphics options including Intel HD Graphics 5500, HD Graphics 6000 and Intel Iris Graphics 6100 which enable 4K Ultra HD display. They also support latest graphics programmability features such as OpenCL 2.0 and OpenGL 4.3.

ASUS has taken wraps of its latest ZenFone 2 smartphone at its dedicated CES 2015 event in Las Vegas. The company’s chairman also announced that they are now shipping over 1.5 million ZenFone smartphones a month.
ASUS ZenFone 2 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and comes with a 72% screen-to-body ration, which means that the display occupies more space in the body rather the bezels. It has a layer of Gorilla Glass 3, which protects the smartphone from scratches and minor sniffs.
Under the hood, there’s a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor powering the smartphone and ASUS says that it is up to 3.1 times faster than some of the quad-core competitors. The GPU performance is also claimed to be 8.1 times quicker and it does support OpenGL 3.0.
The spotlight, however, is on the random access memory of the smartphone, which is about 4GB -making it the first smartphone to feature such a configuration.

ASUS along with the ZenFone 2 has announced ZenFone Zoom at its event in Las Vegas. ASUS CEO Jonney Shih during his presentation showcased the company’s latest camera phone.
ASUS ZenFone Zoom is basically the ZenFone 2 itself with an enhanced rear camera. The device is presumably targeted towards heavy photography users. The ZenFone Zoom sports a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD resolution.
The talking point of the device is at the rear of the smartphone – the 13 megapixel rear camera with 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. If you are a photography enthusiast, you get to enjoy a lot of freedom with the device’s camera featuring a manual mode, which allows you to control options such as white balance, exposure, ISO, shutter speed and focal point.

Lenovo’s biggest event has always been the Consumer Electronics Show and it’s not any different this year either. The company has introduced P90, which is its first smartphone to be powered by the newest 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560 processor.
Lenovo P90 sports a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080p that accounts to a resolution of 440 pixels per inch. Under the hood powering the smartphone is a quad-core 1.83 GHz Intel Atom Z3560 processor along with 2GB of RAM.
There’s 32GB of internal storage and the company hasn’t revealed if that can be expanded via microSD card slot. Moving on to the camera, there’s a 13 megapixel rear shooter with OIS and LED flash, while the front features a 5 megapixel snapper.

Sony have today unveiled an updated version of their Android Wear powered Smartwatch 3 which aims to solve a large criticism leveraged towards the Android Wear device. Announced today, the Smartwatch 3 now comes in a fetching Stainless Steel option which offers an alternative to the rather plain silicone strap version currently available.
Like the original model, the stainless steel Smartwatch 3 sports a 1.6 inch 320x320 TFT LCD Transflective display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. It comes equipped with NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 and as we found in the Smartwatch 3 review, the 420 mAh battery offers between one and two days battery life. Sony has forayed into head wearables with a new device. Dubbed as Smart B-Trainer, the device is aimed at runners and boasts of fitness sensors.
The Smart B-Trainer is allows users to play their favourite music while running and it even suggests soundtrack. The all-in-one wireless headset has its own memory storage. It also provides voice coaching and audio guidance for a variety of training programs. It encourages a sustainable running routine and automatically selecting songs with tempos to match the user's heart rate. Finally, the device is waterproof and hence will have protection from the sweat during training sessions.
It must be noted that the Smart B-Trainer is currently a prototype and there is no word about an official public release.

Apple will start offering unlocked or sim free version of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in the U.S from today, according to a new report from 9to5Mac.
Prior to this, Apple has sold the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in the US with a carrier contract or on T-Mobile. Since, the phones will be unlocked, buyers will have to pay full retail price for the devices. A SIM free version will allow users to use the iPhone anywhere around the world. The unlocked versions of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will allow users to insert a nano-SIM card from a compatible GSM network for cellular voice, texting, and data connectivity.
The SIM-free iPhone 6 will cost the same as T-Mobile’s unlocked version, starting at $649 and climbing up to $949 for a top-end iPhone 6 Plus. The report said that Apple started selling unlocked iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s models approximately two months following the initial launches in 2012 and 2013. Hence, this time the company is running late as the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were launched in September.

HERE announced that it has partnered with BMW to create a new driving experience. Dubbed as "Intelligent Drive," it utilizes Nokia's HERE navigation and mapping services.
BMW ConnectedDrive displayed the BMW i3 equipped with cloud-based connectivity and a HERE app that synchronises digital devices such as a smartphone with the vehicle’s navigation system. The "Intelligent Drive" will allow your car to learn the tank level at which you usually refill and automatically search for gas stations when you get to that point. It will also offer smart parking recommendations, share your destination and ETA and get safety alerts for hazards, speed restrictions and traffic.

HTC has unveiled the Desire 826, the company’s latest phablet at the CES 2015 as expected.
