HTC One M9 specs and images leak ahead of launch

HTC is just a week away from launching the One M9 at the MWC 2015 on March 1st. Images and specs of the upcoming One M8 successor have been leaked by a German retail site. As per the listing, the phone is seen in gunmetal grey with black accents and silver with gold accents. The power button is now on the right side instead of the top. Placement of the camera and speaker grill is also changed. Coming to the specs, the leak states the One M9 will have 5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, powered by a 2GHz Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It will include 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The phone has 20MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and 4MP ultra pixel in the front. Measuring 9.61 mm thick, One (M9) will run Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7. HTC has packed 2900mAh battery to power this smartphone. Finally,the phone is priced at €749 on the site which no longer shows the listing. Motorola to make an ‘exciting announcement’ on Feb 25

Motorola has sent out press invites for an event on February 25th. The company says in the invites that it has an exciting product that will be announced at the event. "Motorola is making an exciting announcement next week and wants you to be in the front row. The best part? You get to choose where and when you'd like to experience it. Everything you need fits inside one box, which we will deliver to your doorstep on Wednesday." reads the invite. Motorola states in the invite that it will send a box to the invitees doorstep which apparently consists of 'everything you need'. It is still not clear what the Lenovo owned company plans to unveil - an updated Moto 360 or a completely new smartphone?  There is even a possibility of a new mobile accessory that can be announced at the event. At the end of the last month,Motorola officially returned to China under its new parent company Lenovo with the launch of the Moto X, Moto G, and Moto X Pro in the country.

Xiaomi to sue websites selling its products illegally in India

Xiaomi has decided to take legal action against those websites which are selling its products in India without the company's consent thereby infringing on its trademark. Ericson accused Xiaomi of Trademark and Patent Infringement in December. Xioami was alleged by Ericsson earlier this month for selling Mediatek chipset powered smartphones through the site Xiaomishop.com, which are currently banned in the country.The Delhi High Court had partially lifted the ban and allowed the Chinese company to sell only Qualcomm chipset smartphones in India. "They're infringing on trademarks and they're making the world believe that it's a genuine Xiaomi site, which it is not. The products sold on these websites are not meant for India and are sold at significantly higher price points. We have written to them multiple times, and we will be taking legal action against them". said Manu Jain, head of India operations at Xiaomi. The products sold on this website are not meant for India and the website is also selling the products at higher rates. Jain further added, though the site has stop functioning by now, the company will still take legal action against them along with 4-5 other sites as well. Samsung launched the Samsung Z1 smartphone, the company's latest Tizen OS smartphone in India last month. We already brought you the review of the smartphone, here we have the battery life test results of the smartphone. The Samsung Z1 has a 1,500mAh Lithium ion battery. It has a 4-inch WVGA display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, which should not consume a lot of battery. The Tizen OS also has ultra power saving mode that would let you extend the battery life. Talk Time It lasted for 9 hours and 5 minutes in our talk time test, better than the Android One smartphones. 3G Browsing It lasted for 5 hours and 15 minutes in 3G browsing test, similar to other mid-range smartphones. WiFi Browsing It lasted for 7 hours and 8 minutes in WiFi browsing test and grabs the second spot. Video Playback It managed to last for 6 hours and 40 minutes in the video playback test. It achieved One Charge Rating of 6 hours and 55 minutes. Overall the battery life is decent for a smartphone with a 1500mAh battery, in this price range.

Microsoft reportedly working on location sharing app People Sense

Microsoft is developing a new app for Windows Phone that will allow users to find their friends, as per a new report by a Spanish website, Microsoft Place. Dubbed as People Sense, the app will let users reveal their real-time location to selected contacts and also provides them with detailed direction’s to a contact’s location. The app is currently being code-named as Buddy Aware and is expected to integrate Bing Maps with messaging and calling features. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tef-qLiffjg It will also allows users to mark favourite places like 'home' or 'work' and integrate them in the app. More features are expected to be incorporated in People Sense. Apple to invest $2 billion on Data Centers in Denmark and Ireland

Apple has announced that it is investing €1.7 billion ($2 billion) to build and operate two data centers in Europe, each powered by 100 percent renewable energy. The data centers located in County Galway, Ireland, and Denmark’s central Jutland, will power Apple’s online services including the iTunes Store, the App Store, iMessage, Maps and Siri for customers across Europe. Apple will also work with local partners to develop additional renewable energy projects from wind or other sources to provide power in the future. “We are grateful for Apple’s continued success in Europe and proud that our investment supports communities across the continent. This significant new investment represents Apple’s biggest project in Europe to date. We’re thrilled to be expanding our operations, creating hundreds of local jobs and introducing some of our most advanced green building designs yet.” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. Both the data centers will measure 166,000 square meters with Apple promising to deliver benefits to the local community with both projects. Apple to reportedly launch public beta for iOS 8.3 and iOS 9 in March

Apple is planning to launch its first-ever public beta program for both iOS  this year. The company will be releasing first ever public beta for iOS 8.3 and iOS 9 in March. Apple will be releasing iOS 8.3 beta through its AppleSeed program in mid-March to the public and is code named as Stowe. It will also be releasing the third beta of iOS 8.3 to developers around the same time. Until now, only registered developers have had access to the company's beta releases for iOS. In the same week Apple will launch the third iOS 8.3 beta for developers as well, while the second iOS 8.3 beta for developers will be rolled out next week. The updated software includes support for Wireless CarPlay, an upgraded Emoji keyboard, an enhanced voice for Siri, and simpler login for Google services. Meanwhile, iOS 8.4, codenamed Copper, will include Apple's new streaming music service while the iOS 9 will include fixes and performance enhancements. Apple is also planning to launch iOS 9, codenamed Monarch, at its June Worldwide Developer Conference, with a public beta release in summer and a final release later this year.

Samsung has been teasing its upcoming Galaxy S6 smartphone for the past few days in videos and images. Recently the Galaxy S6 smartphone has been teased by T-Mobile's CEO John Legere on the official website. It has a caption SIX APPEAL, which hints at the Galaxy S6 name. It also says The Next Big Thing is Almost Here. The CEO also confirmed that T-Mobile will sell the smartphone. The image shows the device with a curved display on one side. According to earlier leaks, the Galaxy S6 Edge will have curved edges on both the sides. Samsung also released a video teaser that emphasizes on metal, which hits at a metal body. Indian tablet market soars 3.6% in Q4 2014, iBall overtakes Samsung: Report

The tablet market in India has reported quarter-on-quarter growth of 3.6%, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). A total of 0.96 million tablets were shipped in the Q4, 2014. iBall that was in the third spot, behind Micromax in Q3 2014 has jumped up to the first spot in Q4 2014 overtaking Samsung, to be come the leading tablet maker in the country in terms of shipments. iBall grabs 15.6% market share in Q4 2014, up from 4.5% share in Q4 2013. Samsung grabs 12.9% share, compared to 17.9% share in Q4 2013. DATAWIND comes close with 9.6% share. Micromax that was in the second spot in Q3 2014 is no where to be seen in the top five spots. Since the share of PC OEMs in the market has grown by more than double year-on-year, 2014 has posted tablet shipments of 3.5 million, down 15% compared to 2013, says IDC.  7-inch tablets under $150 (Rs. 9000 approx.) increased in the quarter and will continue to foreseeable future, says the report. 3G tablets posted a double digit growth in Q4 and accounted for about 60% of the total shipments, up from 35% in Q1 2014. Xiaomi, the Chinese manufacturer entered the Indian market with its Mi 3 smartphone and the smartphone turned out to be a huge success in the country. Samsung Galaxy S6 expected to launch in April second week in India

Samsung is all set to introduce Galaxy S6, the company's flagship smartphone at its Unpacked 2015 event on March 1st at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. U.S. carrier T-Mobile already confirmed that it will offer the smartphone for its customers. Even Sprint recently confirmed that it will launch the smartphone. U.S. carriers are planning to sell the smartphone starting from this Spring, which begins late March. Samsung is planning to launch the smartphone in India by the second week of April, according to our sources. This is not a surprise since Samsung had been launching its flagship smartphones in India within few weeks after the announcement. Pre-bookings are expected to start late March. It could launch early second week of April and go on sale later that week, just like the Galaxy Note 4. We will get to know the complete specifications of the Galaxy S6 at the announcement on March 1st. We will also be bringing you the hands-on impressions of the smartphone after the event.

Sony Xperia Z4 Dual SIM UI screenshots surfaces

Sony may not be announcing the Xperia Z4 at the MWC next month, but a recent leak of screenshots has shown the UI of the Xperia Z4 dual. As per the leak the phone is running on Android 5.0 Lollipop.   The screenshots of the phone show that the Xperia Z4 dual will run the Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset. Material Design elements and features are seen in the screenshot of the phone like settings menu,  dialer and the clock app. In addition, the screenshots also suggests that Sony will use a kernel version beginning with “3.10”, whilst the software build number will start with “28”. Xperia Z4 is expected to sport a 5.2" 1080p or QHD screen, Snapdragon 810 chipset with 3GB of RAM, 21MP camera, waterproof body and stereo speakers.

Most of the specifications of the smartphone are similar to the Xolo Win Q900s that was introduced last year. Lumia 640 specs and price tag surfaces

It seems like Microsoft is making another budget Windows smartphone. The Lumia 640 that has a code number RM-1072 has surfaced online with specs. The Lumia 640 will apparently sport a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage. It will have a 8.7-megapixel rear camera, and a 0.9-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone will support Dual SIM/LTE, NFC and wireless charging.  A dual SIM variant of the phone is code named as RM-1077. It is reports that Microsoft Lumia 640 might come priced at around $275. The phone was spotted at Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency and the specs of the phone were seen on the documents.  The certification in Brazil for RM-1109 reveals that the Lumia 640 Dual-Sim has a unique battery model BV-T5C.  Both, RM-1072 and RM-1077 have just passed certification at FCC and reveal that they have battery BV-T5C. Microsoft might unveil the phone at upcoming MWC 2015.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A3 smartphone in India last month for Rs. 20,500. We already brought you the complete review of the smartphone, here we have its battery life test results. The Galaxy A3 packs a 1900mAh built-in battery, slightly smaller than the Galaxy A5. It has a same Snapdragon 410 SoC and runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, but this come with a smaller 4.5-inch qHD display. Check out the results. Talk Time It lasted for 12 hours and 30 minutes in the Talk Time test, slightly better than the Galaxy A5. 3G Browsing  It lasted for 5 hours and 46 minutes in the 3G browsing test. WiFi Browsing It lasted for 6 hours and 15 minutes in the WiFi browsing test, again better than the Galaxy A5. Video Playback It lasted for 9 hours a 5 minutes, similar to the Galaxy A5, even though this has a smaller display. Overall, the Galaxy A3 achieved a One Charge rating of 7 hours and 46 minutes, better than the Galaxy A5's rating of 7 hours and 32 minutes.

Google Inbox invite program kick starts for Google Apps for Work

Google's Inbox has arrived for Google Apps customers only days after being launched for iPad and Android tablets. The company has announced that starting next month, it will begin enabling Inbox access for a limited batch of Google Apps customers. "Of course, every company and every person is different, so we want to get more input on how Inbox will work at your company. Starting next month, we’ll begin enabling Inbox for a small group of Google Apps customers to learn about their needs, challenges and use cases." posted Alex Gawley, Director of Product Management, Gmail and Inbox by Gmail in a blog. Continuing the invite system, Google has opened an invitation program for company administrators already using Google Apps to get on Inbox. Starting next month, admins can email the company at inboxforwork@google.com to request access. Google said it will let in only select users that request access as it works to get feedback from early adopters and improve the experience. Inbox was launched in October last year for Android and iOS.
