Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) Grip Cover and Bands now available in India, 4G variant listed on Flipkart

Motorola launched the Moto E (2nd Gen) in India earlier this month and the smartphone went on sale on Flipkart last week. At the launch Motorola promised that it will sell colorful bands and covers for the new Moto E soon. Now these are available from Flipkart. At the the launch of Moto E (2nd Gen) Motorola confirmed that it will launch the 4G variant of the smartphone in India soon. Now the 4G variant (XT1521) is listed on Flipkart as 'Coming Soon' without a price tag. The Grip back cover for Moto E (2nd Gen) protects the device from bumps and drops. It comes in Turqoise, Yellow, Black, Blue and Raspberry colors and is priced at Rs. 899. The Motorola Bands for the Moto E come in two packs - Turquoise, Purple & Raspberry and Red, Blue & Golden Yellow. These are priced at Rs. 999 per pack, which is actually cheaper compared to the $19.99 price tag in the U.S. The Moto E (2nd Gen) 4G is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU, compared to the 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor with Adreno 302 GPU in the 3G variant. OnePlus One price to increase in Europe from March 25

OnePlus has announced that it is increasing the price of OnePlus One smartphone in European countries that uses euro as currency. This change is due to falling value of the Euro. The OnePlus One 16GB variant that sells for 269 Euros will cost 299 Euros and the 64GB variant that now sells for 299 Euros will cost 349 Euros after the hike. This will be effective from March 25th, so those who are ordering the phone till open sales next Tuesday will be charged the old price. Regarding the increase in pricing, OnePlus on the official blog, said: This is something that we opted not to do, as we are committed to maintaining razor-thin margins in order to give the most value back to our fans. Unfortunately, as the value of the euro continued to drop, our razor-thin margins began to turn into 0 margins. Due to the current value of the euro, we are now selling devices at a loss in the EU. Samsung introduces 128GB 3-bit eMMC 5.0 flash memory for mid-range smartphones

Samsung has introduced 128 gigabyte (GB), 3-bit NAND-based flashed storage based on Embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC) 5.0 technology targeted at mid-market smartphones and tablets. The company has already introduced 128GB flash memory based on Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 2.0 and eMMC 5.1 standards for top-end and premium smartphones.  Mid-market smartphones will now be able to increase their storage capacity to 128GB as well with the new , says the company. The new 128GB eMMC 5.0 would offer sequential data read speed of 260 MB/s, similar to MLC NAND-based eMMC 5.1 memory. It can handle random data read and write operations up to 6,000 IOPS (input/output operations per second), four times faster than external memory card and 5,000 IOPS, 10 times faster, respectively. 3-bit NAND storage was only used in SSDs for data centers, servers and PCs, now it has extended it to the entire mobile memory storage market with the 3-bit eMMC 5.0 line-up. The company says that it will continue to develop 3-bit NAND Flash memory offering higher-performance and in higher densities.

LG had launched its Aka line of smartphones in Korea last year in November. The smartphones that understands your moods is now rolling outside Korea. Google Docs for Android gets full screen reading view

Google had updated Docs for Android that adds a new feature. The new update makes it easier to read and review documents without any editing options.   The new version brings the capability to review a document in full screen mode. Aas you scroll through an opened document, editing icons will vanish to the top that will let the text take up the full screen. In order to edit something, you will simply need to double tap the screen or press the blue pencil action button. Google is also adding few other updates to Sheets and Slides. LG G Pad 8.0, the company's 8-inch tablet in the G Pad series is now available in India from Snapdeal. Microsoft has released Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10041. The company has announced that the Build 10041 will be available for preview users. "We’re rolling out Build 10041 for PCs to the Fast ring. Like all of the previous preview builds this one comes with a collection of new functionality and bug fixes. The build will only be available through Windows Update for systems already running a previous Windows 10 build. YouTube update adds ability to search for 4K videos on Android

YouTube has updated Android app with a couple of features and minor tweaks. The latest update bumps the app to version 10.10 and brings an important update related to 4K videos. The YouTube app for Android is getting the ability to search for videos with 4K resolution. With the latest update, users can search for the 4K videos using filters. An icon has been added in the top right-hand corner of the app that will bring up the video filter when tapped. Different types of video filters including HD, 3D, Closed Captions, Creative Commons, and Live video types are seen in the list along with the 4K option. The latest update is not live for all the users yet although Android Police has provided an APK for the update.

Meizu to enter Indian smartphone market soon

Meizu, one of the popular Chinese smartphone makers has announced that it is all set to enter the Indian market. On Twitter the company said Greetings to all the #Meizu fans in India. We are coming! It has also linked its Facebook page in the tweet. The company doesn't have a dedicated page for India yet. HTC's Dot View Case has received support for playing games on the Dot View case as well as displaying a scrolling message, in a latest update. The company has also updated the app that controls the Dot View case. Dot Message allows you to create your own scroller message ticker, with a number of colors and scrolling speeds. The case also included is support for animated live themes and a “special surprise” on your birthday. Users can now turn on speaker during a phone call, control flashlight and recorder, snooze alarms and show more notification icons. Xbox Music can now play music files stored on OneDrive

Microsoft has announced Xbox music service has been integrated with the company's cloud storage service, OneDrive. This integration will let users access Music files on One Drive. Users will simply have to upload your music files to your new “Music” folder in OneDrive and that music will appear in the Xbox Music apps for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 as well as on your Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It must be noted that this is a free service and doesn’t require a paid Music Pass. The music stored in the One Drive will take the storage space but Microsoft gives every Xbox Music subscriber 100GB of extra space in OneDrive so that will be enough. Microsoft is making the service available in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia starting today. There is no word on a global rollout.

TAG Heuer, Swiss luxury watch maker today announced its partnership with Google and Intel for a luxury smartwatch with Intel technology powered by Android Wear platform, as expected. This was announced at the Baselworld 2015 conference in Switzerland. The smartwatch will be manufactured and assembled in Switzerland. It will be luxurious and seamlessly connected to its wearer’s daily life—a culmination of innovation, creativity and design from Silicon Valley in California and the Watch Valley in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, said the company. TAG Heuer did not show the design or the features of the smartwatch. It will introduce it in the fourth quarter of 2015. It also announced a special tie-up with DJ David Guetta. Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones in India at an event in New Delhi on March 23rd. These new S series smartphones were unveiled at the MWC 2015 earlier this month and have a completely different design from the earlier S series smartphones. Both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge have a 5.1-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) 577 PPI Super AMOLED displays. The S6 Edge's display has curved edges on both the sides, as you can see from the image. These smartphones are powered by a Octa-Core ( Quad 2.1GHz + Quad 1.5GHz) Exynos processor, run on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and pack 3GB DDR4 RAM. These have a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, OIS and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. These also have Cat.6 LTE support and a range of connectivity features. Android Device Manager now coming to Android Wear devices

Google has updated its Android Device Manager service with supports for Android Wear. This will allow users to find their lost Android smartphone using the smartwatch. "Today we’re making Android Device Manager even more useful by introducing support for Android Wear to help you find your lost device. Misplaced your Android phone? No problem!
