Usually, LG unveils a new flagship every year at the MWC 2018 event, but this time the company has opted for a new strategy, by introducing the mid-cycle upgrade of the V30 with Artificial Intelligence (A.I) added in it as an interim device to sell till its next flagship releases. LG does this in the form of 'V30S ThinQ' with a very little difference from a hardware perspective.
Except for the newly added A.I features, 6GB RAM and 128GB/256GB on-board storages, it has similar specifications of the V30. With this upgrades, the camera is trained to recognize eight specific categories including portrait, food, pet, landscape, city, flower, sunrise, and sunset, then adjusts the settings based on what it’s shooting.
It has another option called QLens, that Scans QR codes to offer information as to where to buy the product online at the lowest price as well as recommendations for similar items. As of now, it supports Food, fashion, and celebrities or detailed information about landmarks such as buildings and statues.

Xiaomi's Mi 6 is almost a year old now and it looks like the company is prepping the launch of Mi 7 as a Xiaomi device with flagship level specifications have surfaced in benchmarks. The listing reveals that it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
Though the Geekbench doesn't reveal if it is the Mi 7 but considering the specifications, it could very well be. Apart from the Snapdragon 845 chipset, the phone will have 6GB RAM which is yet another giveaway. The Xiaomi Dipper scores 2449 in Single-Core and 8309 in Multi-Core. Since the phone is listed on Geekbench, we're not really sure about the other specifications.
Given the trend, the Xiaomi M7 will likely have a bezel-less full-screen display, should run on Android 8.0 Oreo with MIUI 9 on top, dual-rear cameras, Fingerprint sensor, and possibly wireless charging that will be introduced for the first time in a Xiaomi smartphone starting with Mi MIX 2S later this month.

Apple is busy prepping an entry-level MacBook that is likely to launch at the WWDC in June falling in line with the earlier report from KGI. The security analyst in his report said that he is expecting total shipments of MacBook models will grow 10-15% YoY in 2018.
The pricing of the entry-level MacBook said to be in the range of $799 or $899. While the new report from Digitimes, it is unclear if it would be MacBook or MacBook Air line. But considering that it will be an entry-level machine with a similar 12-inch size, it is very likely that it will be MacBook Air.
The Digitimes report states that the pricing will be more or less same as than the current MacBook Air, which starts at $999, and will include a Retina display. LG will be supplying the display panel in April and will enter mass production at the end of May or the beginning of June. As for production, Quanta Computer likely to get 70% of the orders and Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) 30%.

Back in December 2017 Google had teased about a VR display that will have 10x more pixels than any commercially available VR display today. Broadcom has almost reached a dead-end with its pursuits to acquire Qualcomm as Trump's government has prohibited the take over with regards to national security. White House has ordered Broadcom immediately and permanently abandon the proposed takeover of Qualcomm.
Further to the order, the Presidential order has also said that all of Broadcom’s director nominees are also disqualified from standing for election as directors of Qualcomm. As for Qualcomm, White House ordered to reconvene its 2018 Annual Meeting of Stockholders with a 10-day notice period, that is March 23, 2018. Stockholders of record on January 8, 2018 will be entitled to vote at the meeting.
The move comes after Committee on Foreign Investment in the US alerting both the companies that it believed the takeover would pose a security risk. CFIUS says that it believes that if Broadcom acquires Qualcomm, it would likely cut costs of the American company and weakens its ability to compete against Chinese companies like Huawei and others. It would also let the Chinese have an advantage with the 5G wireless and leave Americans vulnerable. Broadcom is also ordered to give the CFIUS panel a 5-day notice before it relocates to the USA.

Apple today announced that it has acquired the Next Issue Media LLC's digital magazine service Texture. The service gives users unlimited access to their favorite titles for one monthly subscription fee. The move from Apple comes with an aim to tackle fake news and pave the way for trusted information.
Keeping this in perspective, it can be understood that Texture will continue to operate as is with no changes. It will continue to offer apps for iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire and Windows 8 and 10. However, the financial terms of this deals are not disclosed, but Apple is expected to close the deal very soon as it acquired the full company, including employees.
Before rebranding itself to Texture, it was called as Next Issue Media and was a joint venture of Condé Nast, Hearst, Meredith, News Corp., Rogers Communications, and Time Inc. The company raised a total of at least $90 million. The company was around since 2010.

Apple today inked a deal with Ito World to display nearest bike-sharing stations in Maps in over 175 cities across 36 countries. The feature is already live on Maps and will help you find the nearest station by typing “bike sharing” in the search bar or the name of the service.
Ito World is very popular in leasing out licenses and normalize bike-sharing data to a bunch of companies earlier. With this move, it takes just one step for Apple to integrate support for hundreds of bike-sharing services. Google today has introduced Plus Codes for Maps which is a simple location-based digital addressing system and voice Navigation in six additional Indian languages. The Plus Codes concept divides the surface of the Earth into tiny ‘tiled areas’ and assigns a unique to each.
The code comprises of a 6-character + City format that can be generated, shared and searched by anyone. Since it is an open source, any application that uses location services can easily incorporate it. To use the Plus Codes, all you got to do is simply enter it into the Search field on Google or Google Maps both on the desktop and mobile which then will show you the location.

Apple just announced that its 29th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) for this year happens from June 4th till June 8th. This time it is holding the event at McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, which is the same venue as last year.
The company would reveal about the future of iOS and OS X at the event, including iOS 12, macOS 10.14, watchOS 5, and tvOS 12 updates. A recent reports said that Apple will integrate Animojis into FaceTime, bring tabs for iPad apps with iOS 12.
Earlier report said that Apple will delay some of the major features to 2019 and mainly focus on performance and stability in iOS 12. Apple is also rumored to introduce cheaper Retina MacBook and updated entry-level iPad models at the event.
Tickets for WWDC 2018 go on sale in late March and will cost US$ 1599, same price as previous years. Tickets will be issued to attendees through a random selection process as demand is so high.
For those who cannot attend the event, Apple will also offer live stream on Apple Developer website and on the WWDC app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV starting from the keynote on June 5th and would probably start at 10.00 AM PDT (10:30 PM IST).

Google has rolled out an update to the search results on mobile which now will display captions for images. The move is to give images better visual discovery and more context on the image results page. Google last year had started showing badges like recipe or product.
In addition to the badges, Google also added website’s URL for each result to show you where the image is coming from. Starting this week, the company will display captions to image results. It will show the title of the web page where each image is published. Google believes that this extra piece of information gives you more context for you to find out more about the images and easily find relevant information.
This update is an ongoing process of making Google images more useful tool to discover and explore more information from the web. Google image captions are starting to roll out globally this week on the Google app for iOS, Android and on mobile search results.
