Google-branded 4K Android TV dongle with Assistant-enabled remote, Android Oreo passes through the FCC

0
0
A new Android TV with Google logo and manufactured by the Shenzhen SEI Robotics Co., Ltd. has passed through the FCC. It comes with "4K ATV Stick" naming and pictures showing off HDMI dongle, with Google Logo running the latest version of Android TV and with a Google Assistant enabled voice remote. For any Google product, the Google branding looks way too obvious and the poorly written manual makes one question the legitimacy of the product in question. However, the dongle is extremely reminiscent of Chromecast dongles. According to the manual, it has an HDMI (2.0A) output, power (5V/2A) input, powered by the Amilogic S905X processor with 2GB of RAM and has 8GB of eMMC storage onboard. On the flip side, the dongle’s power brick has no sign of an ethernet connection like the Chromecast Ultra, but it does dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.1 as well. Going by the user manual, the setup process seems pretty straightforward, one can use the voice-enabled Android TV remote above, and an Android device. Surprisingly, the pictures show the Oreo updated version of Android TV. Google doesn't have any known previous manufacturing relationship with "Shenzhen SEI Robotics Co." which doesn't necessarily mean this could be unreal since the company has a number of Android ...

The return of the Lumia Pro Camera mode in the Nokia Camera app took center stage next to the Android One support announcement at the MWC 2018. This Pro camera mode is currently available in the Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco out of the box, but it is unclear at the moment if this would be rolled out to other Nokia branded phones or not. However, HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, said that the Nokia Camera’s Pro Camera mode would roll out to all devices with ZEISS optics. Now we have some sorts of official confirmation that HMD Global might release this feature for other Nokia phones as the APK of the latest camera app from a leaked Nokia 7 OTA update has been released online. XDA Senior Member Hikari_Calyx, has pulled the leaked OTA which is an unreleased build for the Chinese variant of the Nokia 7 which also includes Pro camera mode with version 8.0260.50. The app is working perfectly on the Nokia 7 since it does have the Zeiss optics. The XDA member has also released the APK for other Nokia 7 users. Technically, the app should work on any Nokia-branded device with Zeiss optics as HMD Global claimed it, but for now, ...

Google no longer selling original Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones

Pixel and Pixel XL 2016 marked the first official introduction of the Pixel-series by Google which also killed off the Nexus series. However, Google today has officially removed the original Pixel and Pixel XL from its online stores. Accessories” category now joins the latest Pixel 2 flagship in the online store listing. Even after 18 months since the launch, Pixel and Pixel XL are still one of the best phones out there with timely updates and with $100 price deduction after the introduction of Pixel 2, the phones even more attractive. On the other hand, the original Pixel is also gone from the Project Fi store, Google’s MVNO product. Only the Google Pixel 2 and the Moto X4 which is the Android One variant in the US.. are available. Given the surprising removal of the OG Pixel, it looks like Google has kept the device just because of the excess inventory, rather than keeping it for the sake of having last year’s device around at a cheaper price point, much like how Apple does. Though it worked for Apple, Google seems to be going with a very different approach considering the much-rumored mid-range Pixel coming this year. Source | Via

With OnePlus 3/3T, the company made many changes including bringing back the NFC, introduced metal unibody, keeping the fingerprint scanner and of course the dash charging technology. The OnePlus 3/3T is also one of the slimmest flagship phones from OnePlus at just 7.3 mm. Also, we have a curved back with a right amount to feel and fit naturally in your hand. We already know that the OnePlus 6 will have a notch with an option to hide it, 6.28-inch FHD+ screen with 90% screen-to-body ratio, 3.5mm audio jack, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB RAM, up to 256GB storage and Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Oxygen OS 5.1.0 on top.
