Unigroup Spreadtrum & RDA today announced that its high-performance mobile chip platform Spreadtrum SC9850 and SC7731E fully support Google's Android 8.1 (Go version). Eurasian regulatory database which has a history of tipping Apple products ( AirPods, iPhone 7, new MacBooks and the latest iPad) is back again, and this time it points at a handful of unannounced iPhone models spanning eleven model identifiers.
Devices usually appear in the database about a month before the products ship, and since these iPhone references were posted yesterday, it could mean that a new iPhone launch will be debuting in early May/June. The Eurasian Economic Commission database has had an accurate track record, so it shouldn’t be discounted so easily.
However, in this case, except for the new smartphone running on iOS 11, this particular filing isn’t very helpful in narrowing it down on what exactly the new iPhone is. Apple ahead of the Earth Day announced that for every device received at Apple stores through the Apple GiveBack program from today until April 30th, will make a donation to the non-profit Conservation International. The company has also introduced Daisy robot that can more efficiently disassemble iPhone to recover valuable materials.
According to Apple, Daisy robot is the most efficient way to reclaim the valuable materials stored in iPhone and the robot is capable of disassembling and sorting parts from up to 200 iPhones per hour. The new Daisy is based on Liam technology (and parts) and can take apart nine different iPhone models and sort their high-quality components for recycling.

The US Govt has banned ZTE from using American technology for seven years a couple of days ago. Responding to the G.O, ZTE for the first time has responded to the issue and said that the verdict was unfair and threatens its survival. It also vowed to safeguard its interests through all legal means.
The Bureau of Industry and Security announced the Suspended Denial Order on the ground that ZTE did not timely reduce bonus of and issue letters of reprimand to certain employees involved in past violation of export control. The company also mentioned that it has been working diligently on Export Control Compliance program and has invested tremendous resources in export compliance and has made significant progress since 2016.
With that in mind, ZTE opines that it is unacceptable that Bureau of Industry and Security has unfairly imposed the most severe penalty on the company even before the completion of an investigation. Android phone with 3D facial recognition technology is unlikely to hit the market until the Q3 of this year. According to a new report, the main hold back is because of the insufficient capability to integrate related hardware and software at 3D sensing solution providers.
While Qualcomm combined with Himax Technologies and Truly Opto-electronics currently believed to be most mature 3D sensing solution presently available in the market, but it is limited to Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 CPU which made the top-five Android makers except for Xiaomi from using the module for their high-end models.
Since Samsung and Huawei have their own chipsets, they are planning to develop their own 3D algorithms, and for this exact reason, both these companies might not be the first Android phone makers to launch models with 3D sensing technology. Samsung is not expected to launch smartphones with 3D sensing until 2019. On the other hand, despite having internal laboratories, HiSilicon Technologies, and third-party developers to develop related algorithms, Huawei couldn't incorporate the technology in the recently introduced P20 series.
