According to a report from Mac Otakara, Apple is said to introduce a new iPhone SE model in May. This new piece of information was obtained from case makers at the Global Sources Mobile Electronics trade show in Hong Kong this week. Furthermore, the next-gen SE is said to retain the same physical size as the current iPhone SE. The iPhone SE 2 (if that's what Apple is planning on naming it) will also pack the TouchID and will have the same 4-inches display with thick bezels on top and bottom to accommodate the front-camera, TouchID, and earpiece. Following the trend of iPhone 7, the new SE 2 will also likely skip the 3.5mm audio jack. If all, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are likely to be discontinued in September, meaning Apple will no longer sell any iPhone model with a headphone jack. The Apple iPhone SE new model will also power the A10 Fusion chipset which is up to 40 percent faster than the A9 processor in the current iPhone SE. It is also reported that new iPhone SE may have a glass back with wireless charging capabilities, but it is inconclusive at this time. We have recently seen Eurasian regulatory database hinting at a new iPhone launch ...

Google autocomplete predictions more often than not return funny and wild queries. Though they are fun at times, most of the times they tend to surface inappropriate predictions. However, Google is vowing to expand its policies to take on violent and hateful search autocomplete predictions.  The company will be rolling out updates in the coming weeks to reduce the possibility of it occurring. Autocomplete is especially useful for those using mobile devices to make it easy to complete a search on a small screen where typing can be hard. Google claims that on an average, it reduces typing by about 25 percent and is estimated save over 200 years of typing time per day. These predictions are common and are trending ones related to what someone types. However, Google removes predictions that are against its policies; Sexually explicit predictions, Hateful predictions, violent or dangerous predictions. In the coming weeks, it will be expanding the policies related to hate and violence and any predictions that “advocate, glorify or trivialize violence and atrocities, or which disparage victims” will be removed. Google is also providing an option for users to report using the “Report inappropriate predictions” which it launched last year, and appears below the search box on the desktop. As for mobile ...

Google is rolling out a new update to Photos app for Android which brings advanced movie editor, reorganized bottom bar and more. The advanced movie editor was earlier spotted in a teardown of v3.16 and now it is finally started rolling out in the v3.18 release. The new movie editor leaves behind the black background and takes on the white color scheme which Google seems to be following off lately. The new movie editor puts the primary video viewer toward the top of the screen and places each of your selected clips below it and only displays how much of each is included in the current edit. This U.I look is aimed at reducing the time it takes to make adjustments to the length of a clip. The new layout places all of the sliders front and center for speedy edits. Though the functionality remains the same, the look and feel are being updated like repositioning clips from one spot in the timeline to another by long-pressing on the thumbnail and then dragging it to a new location. Tapping on the overflow button next to a clip shows several features that weren't part of the old UI. Features like moving a clip up or down in the ...

Back in February, commits to the Chromium codebase revealed that Chrome OS could soon run Linux applications using a container. Though it was possible to run Linux application in Chrome OS using the crouton, it only works in the developer's mode.  Perhaps the new Google's solution might presumably work better and doesn't require Dev Mode to be enabled. Today we see more evidence of this feature, and it appeared in the Chrome OS Dev channel. According to Reddit users, a new Terminal app has been added to the app drawer, and clicking it opens a dialog explaining the feature. This feature is very much identical to the concept posted to the Chromium Gerrit in February. However, the when trying to install the terminal app, it returns an error which indicates that the feature is not functional yet. But it is very interesting to see Linux app support come together, but we need to wait for some more time before the feature goes official. Source | Via

Google started rolling out 'My Saves' or Saved pages in the last September. It is a mish-mash of your saved bookmarks while browsing search results in the Google app, and Maps lists. However, Google is starting to replace it with 'Collections.' Since it is a server-side rollout, it is entirely upto Google whether or not you will be able to see the more modern interface where the saved lists are now called "Collections in the Saved pages either through the Google app or by navigating to google.com/save. It will be laid out more compactly, and tapping on any collection opens up a list of cards, but unlike before they're now spanned in two columns instead of taking up a row each. However, the functionality doesn't change, it remains the same, you can create a new collection and move items between collections, you will get automatic lists from your Favorites and Google Maps lists, but you can't search through your items or share an entire collection. Other changes include the ability to choose a cover photo, add a description to a collection, and have automatic lists for recipes, videos, jobs, and more. As we mentioned above, it is a server-side roll out, so not everybody will get to ...

After several rumors, Pete Lau, CEO and Founder, OnePlus has confirmed in a forum post that the OnePlus 6 will feature a glass design. He alsotalks about the brand’s approach to design and the incorporation of glass materials while maintaining the familiar horizon design in the OnePlus 6. He also shared about company’s philosophy of honest design focuses on creating a functional product based on need rather than adding on additional elements for the sake of hype. [HTML1] Talking about the rationale behind the use of glass back, Pete Lau, CEO and Founder of OnePlus said, “OnePlus 6's glass design is centered around creating a ‘sense of value’ and ‘premium hand-feel’. We gave a lot of thought to how users should feel when they use the OnePlus 6. The advantages of glass over metal are manifold: glass communicates a transparent, bright, and pure feeling. The way glass transforms under different lighting is a particularly important challenge—the OnePlus design team tested over 70 glass prototypes before selecting the best one.
