Google Pixel 3 series is due for later this year; October to be precise. While we started seeing rumors and leaks about the design of the flagships including the screen protector. Today the device live images have surfaced courtesy of XDA confirming most of the details that were rumored earlier.  According to the rumored images, the Google Pixel 3 XL packs display notch which was revealed in the screen protector leak earlier, dual front-facing camera sensors, and fingerprint sensor placement. But the surprising part is that it will have a 4GB RAM with 128GB storage variant with Snapdragon 845 SoC. Furthermore, the Pixel 3 XL packs a glass back, but there's no way to tell it has wireless charging support. Like the Pixel 2 XL, 3 XL also packs front-firing stereo speakers. While we hoped for a dual-rear camera, Google is retaining its single-camera strength despite the triple and dual-rear cameras fuss surrounding the flagships in the recent times. It is also worth noting that the Pixel 3 XL lacks the 3.5mm audio jack. The volume and power buttons are positioned similarly to the previous generation Google Pixel 2 XL. The fingerprint sensor placement is retained to the rear side. At the bottom, there is just the USB ...

Always connected Chromebooks are slowly making their way back again and it looks like Project Fi and eSIM chips support will be a feature for future Chrome OS devices, according to a recent code-review on the Chromium Gerrit. Since there are no current pending announcements with eSIM support, so this technology will likely have to wait for a new for some more time. In case you didn't know, unlike the regular SIM card support, eSIM is a permanent component of a device that is configured digitally. Instead of swapping SIM between networks, you can just register your eSIM with a network. It also brings various benefits like network-agnostic, meaning that you can seamlessly change networks. You won’t have the hassle of dealing with PAC codes or cutting down SIMs to size. Despite the benefits, eSIM development is delayed and the adoption is largely dependent on network carrier support. Recently Google has expanded the Project Fi support with three phones. Chromebooks used to come with a SIM slot and now in 2018, always-connected PCs are slowly on the rise and perhaps we can see Chromebooks with eSIM and Project Fi support to drop sooner than later. Google never throws hints at the features of its upcoming flagships this early, but with Google being the force behind the software that powers the flagships digging a little deep into the codes and strings revealed some interesting possibilities. The company recently rolled out the Android P beta 2 update to Pixel phones and within the update, there were traces that point at a new type of wireless charging dock support that we believe is in preparation for the Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL. Yesterday we had seen the live images of the Pixel 3 XL which showed a glass body design, while that doesn't necessarily mean it would have wireless charging support (OnePlus 6). However, the new code that was found in the latest Android P Developer Preview combined with the Pixel 3 XL information points at next Pixel will indeed have wireless charging support. Google in the Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) added a special sound that plays when you charge wirelessly and later Android versions differentiate between wireless and wired charging for charging indicators, so AOSP has had some level of recognizing wireless chargers for a while. Now it seems like Android P will expand this by adding a new class of devices under ...

Apple is said to be planning on bringing solid-state buttons that don’t move up and down but will sense the touch of a finger. The company will still stick to the button configuration, with a button and a digital crown placed on the side of the device, but the bottom will not physically click as before.  The buttons will react to users touch by physically moving back and forth and the new buttons will vibrate post fingertip using the Apple's haptic effect called the Taptic Engine. This switch from regular buttons to the solid-state buttons falls in-line with the conversion of the iPhone’s home button to a solid-state design with iPhone 7 in 2016. Apple has been consistently shifting its components such as MacBook trackpads and iPod control wheels from moving parts to solid-state technology. This could either be a part of the new Apple Watch that it will announce this fall, or, if not, will be included in the 2019 Watch. Solid-state buttons will make the Watch more water-resistant and also takes up less space in the design. Apple is also working on using the top of the buttons as sensors to gather health-related data such as heart rhythms. It is also said that the company's ...
