Google’s stock keyboard Gboard is said to be testing a new smart replies feature that will work for WhatsApp, Facebook, Allo, Snapchat, and more. The feature is currently in development, so might be a while before it rolls out to everyone. To set up the feature, you will need to first open up a notification from any app that supports quick reply box and then have to tap on the suggestion to enable the feature in Gboard’s autocomplete bar. However, you will need to grant notification access permission. Once you give it enough permissions, it will show smart replies on apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Allo, Snapchat, Android Messages, Google Hangouts, and more. It should be noted that Google is still tweaking the TensorFlow machine learning model that will be used for smart replies. Having the Smart Replies feature within Gboard is far better and comfortable than installing the ‘Reply‘ app despite support more number of apps. Off lately, Google has been pushing the Smart Replies feature, Non-Project Fi Android Messages users just started getting it. redesigned Gmail also brings along such functionality. Source

Since it might support Bluetooth, the S Pen button could be used for triggering a long-range remote self-timer and for controlling music playback. Android P Developer Preview 4 is out and it comes with smaller app updates, and Google Camera is one of them. However, it doesn't seem to have any live changes, it does have hints of many new features to come, including the much-anticipated RAW support, corrections to wide-angle distortion, multi-channel audio and more. The addition of RAW support was spotted lying underneath almost two full years ago in the Google Camera v3.2 teardown app version. But somehow the feature never made it to the final version. However, we are now back at it again and this time things are looking slightly more concrete. This time there is even a tutorial text that explains RAW saves as a DNG file and suggestions of using a suitable photo editor that understands the format, and that shooting in raw will consume more storage space. Google Camera is said to be gaining a new feature dubbed as a 'correction to wide-angle distortion.' This feature in Google's Camera app is very specific about fixing distortion on faces. However, it is still not clear if these fixes are achieved through some magical algorithm, or if it's sticking to the more conventional pixel-stretching approach. Google also seems to be adding a ...

Samsung rumored to launch an Android Go phone in the coming days, but no details have leaked so far leaving so much for imagination. However, things seem to be finally looking positive as the Samsung's Android Go phone's Experience U.X surfaced.  This means that the Samsung’s first Android Go smartphone won’t be running stock Android.  These pictures reveal Samsung's Android Go phone will have Google’s official Go apps installed over Samsung’s usual Experience UX. This comes as no surprise as Google never promised that Android Go phones will run on Stock Android, it only meant to offer a user experience that’s less demanding on affordable hardware, thanks to apps that use less memory and storage space. Samsung did have phones running stock Android U.I a few years ago; it used to sell it under the Google Play Edition program but it doesn't anymore. As for Android Go’s data saving and storage management functionality, Samsung seems to be using its standard Device Maintenance feature. We hope its abilities shouldn’t be any different from the Device Maintenance tool on latest Galaxy smartphones. As you would expect, the Android Go phone from Samsung won't pack an infinity display but will have on-screen navigation buttons, and it might be getting rid ...

The Wall Street Journal had posted a story on how Google lets third-party app developers read and analyze the contents of a user’s Gmail message. Today in response to that story, Google has published a new blog post detailing how its user and business organization using G Suite are protected and how important privacy and security is for Google.  Google says that it is continuously working on vetting developers and their apps that integrate with Gmail before it opens them for general access. Furthermore, Google claims that it gives both enterprise admins and individual consumers transparency and control over how their data is used. Google also lets users review what permissions you have granted to non-Google apps, and revoke them if you would like. As for G Suite users, admins can control which non-Google apps can access their users’ data through whitelisting. Google's ecosystem of non-Google apps gives users a choice and helps in getting most out of your Email. However, a non-Google app before publishing goes through a multi-step review process that includes an automated and manual review of the developer, assessment of the app’s privacy policy and homepage to ensure it is a legitimate app, and in-app testing to ensure the app works as it says it does. non-Google apps must ...
