Samsung will launch the Galaxy S10 flagship smartphone next year and rumors started flowing in months before the launch. Latest we hear is that the Galaxy S10 will pack triple rear cameras, being a 10th-anniversary flagship, we expect nothing short from Samsung to grab all the attention.  Since the S10 might come in different sizes and variants, the biggest of all will sport a triple camera setup at the back.  According to a new report, the Galaxy S10’s top model could have a 12-megapixel Dual Aperture lens, similar to the Galaxy S9, another lens with a 123-degree 16 MP (f/1.9) wide angle lens, and a 13 MP f/2.4 lens on the other. It is also possible that the mid-sized Galaxy S10 could also feature “super wide-angle” lens instead of the telephoto lens. However, the wide angle lens won’t have either autofocus or optical image stabilization, much like how the LG setup is. This also gives consumers a reason to opt for the biggest Galaxy S10 model. Although, none of the details are confirmed yet, and things could change by the time the Galaxy S10 arrives. On the same note, it is also known that Samsung Galaxy S10 might also pack an in-display fingerprint sensor. Now according ...

Google removes WPS support from Android P

0
0
Google has killed the support for Wi-Fi Protected Setup authentication mode in Android P. It is a protocol that allows a client Wi-Fi device to connect to a router using a PIN or a push-button. This, however, isn't considered to be very secure. The pin-based authentication is crackable with a brute force attack, and the PIN mode is required to be enabled by default on routers with WPS support. With Android P, Google seems to be planning on removing the feature for good. Users started noticing the change in Google Issue Tracker related to WPS that are now marked as deprecated (no longer supported). This led to the speculation that Google might not bring back the feature once P releases publically. WPS suport has been deprecated from Client mode and this method will immediately triggerWifiManager.WpsCallback.onFailed(int) with a generic error. With WPS being a security issue, and many new routers are eliminating the feature entirely, Google removing the feature OS-level makes sense. The feature was introduced a decade ago. Google is yet to comment on the speculations. Source | Via

Google Phone V22 update is rolling out, while it doesn't bring any new changes, there are subtle hints at features that Google is preparing. One among them is the call screening with real-time transcriptions so you can easily differentiate between legitimate and unwanted callers. It also hints at a new feature that is aimed at simplifying voicemail greetings recording right on your phone. Google Phone V22 includes a new settings screen where users will have the option to turn on, configure call screening. When a suspicious caller connects to you, they'll be asked for a name, follow-up question before the call gets routed to you. The responses will be transcribed into text for you to read. In case, if you begin listening to calls, you can hear the questions, answers in real-time. Obviously, you can reject the call and all the missed calls will have those responses recorded and ready for playback later. However, Google might not implement this feature widely, instead, it will only implementing it to support carriers that already offer call screening. The strings suggest that the call screening will work without data connectivity and all the responses will be stored on the phone. What this basically means is that the phone app will ...
