OnePlus has released new OxygenOS 5.1.5 update for the OnePlus 5 and the 5T that finally brings support for Project Treble, after it was released in a beta update back in July. At that time it said that it has finally found a solution to bring Treble support after several months of evaluation and hard work, even though last year it said that old devices won’t get Project treble. It also now lets you confirm your PIN without tapping, which was introduced in OxygenOS 5.1.11 update for the OnePlus 6 last week. Check out the complete changelog below.

Update- August 22, 2018 - Video has released a new video teaser highlighting the design and features of the smartphone. It also confirms 8GB RAM and 128GB storage for the smartphone.
Earlier: We already know that Vivo is gearing to launch the X23 smartphone in China. Today the company officially released the images of the smartphone, showing off its 91.2% screen-to-body ratio screen with a teardrop design, similar to OPPO R17 and F9/F9 Pro. It also uses an improved fourth-generation in-display fingerprint sensor.
The company also said that it will have an AI dual rear cameras, one with super wide-angle lens, which seem similar to the one in the LG smartphones. It has 3D aurora finish on the back and also reveals a 3.5mm audio jack on the top.
The company has started taking registrations for the smartphone from today, August 20 till September 5th, so it could be announced sometime in early September. We should know more details about the smartphone in the coming weeks.
After a considerable gap, OPPO launched F9 Pro smartphone in the Indian market at an event in Mumbai yesterday . The OPPO F9 Pro comes with a waterdrop-shaped display notch, updated camera features, and of course the company's proprietary VOOC flash charging support.
This time,OPPO has concentrated more on design bringing unique looks to the mid-range smartphone. It has a gradient color design, again a first in the F series, which uses advanced color processes.
To achieve a unified design, F9 Pro for the first time has used the same gradient design on the side frame as well, making the sides and the back a naturally connected whole.
The OPPO F9 Pro sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a screen-to-body ration of 90.8 percent. Having said that, it has little to no bezel the sides, thereby maintaining the comfortable size one-handed operation.

After rumors, Qualcomm has officially confirmed that its upcoming flagship mobile platform will feature a system-on-chip (SoC) built on the 7nm process node. It also hinted that it will be 5G-capable and can be paired with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem to power premium tier smartphones and other mobile devices.
Qualcomm has begun sampling of its upcoming flagship mobile platform to multiple OEMs developing next-generation consumer devices. It also said that it will be power-efficient with on-device AI, as rumored. It will offer superior battery life, and performance while extending globally to innovative technologies, solutions, experiences and applications in automotive and IoT. A recent report said that it be called Snapdragon SM8150 instead of 855, as rumored earlier.
Qualcomm's next-generation flagship mobile platform is expected to power first 5G mobile hotspots by the end of 2018, and smartphones in the first half of 2019. The company will reveal more details about the SoC in Q4 2018.
Xiaomi launched the second-generation Android One device - Mi A2 in India earlier this month. At the event, Xiaomi and Google promised Android version updates along with monthly security patch updates as the device was launched under the Android One program. Going by the history of first gen of Android One device Mi A1, Xiaomi has managed to provide monthly security patch updates, at the time of writing Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite have already received August security patch while Mi A1 is yet to receive it.
In past, the company has struggled to deliver on the promise of keeping the Android version up to date, as Mi A1 received Android Oreo 8.1 update in June 2018, the same update was rolled out to Mi A1 Beta ROM testers in mid-June.

HMD Global at the Nokia 6.1 Plus launch in India had announced that it is rolling out new camera experiences with enhanced functionality and user experience for Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 6.1 users. Today it has started rolling out the features for the phones. The AI stickers is available for Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 7 Plus.
This update lets users easily switch between aspect ratios and shooting functions, as well as adjust parameters within different camera modes, such as the intensity of effects like Bokeh and Beautify. Furthermore, it also brings Google Lens and Motions integration directly into the viewfinder.
Google Lens provide information about the world around you in real time like overlaying information about objects right in the viewfinder or copy-paste text from the real world to your phone. As for the Motions, it allows you to capture short videos which can be shared directly to messaging services and social media as a GIF.
The update is available via Google Play Store for the said smartphones.
Xiaomi today reported its earning for the second quarter (Q2 2018) and first half of 2018 (H1 2018) ended June 30, 2018. It reported revenue of 45.24 billion yuan (US$6.60 billion), an increase of 68.3% year-on-year, among which international revenue grew 151.7% year-on-year to 16.4 billion yuan, accounting for 36.3 percent of total revenue. Operating (loss) was 7.5 million yuan compared to 3.6 million the same quarter last year. Adjusted profit grew 25.1% to 2.1 billion yuan year-on-year. All business

Net profit for the second quarter was 14.63 billion yuan, from a loss of 7.03 billion yuan in Q1 2018. Adjusted profit (Non-IFRS Measure) increased by 25.1% year-on-year to 2.1 million yuan.
International revenue grew 151.7% year-on-year to 16.4 billion yuan, which accounted for 36.3% of the total revenue
Smartphones segment recorded approximately 30.5 billion yuan in revenue for the second quarter of 2018, representing year-on-year growth of 58.7%.
Smartphone growth was driven by an increase in both smartphone sales volume and average selling price (ASP).

We had already seen live images of the upcoming Pixel 3 XL smartphone including box contents. Now a Russian blog has posted more live images of the phone, box contents as well as camera samples from the smartphone. Since this is pre-release hardware, EXIF mentions the phone as "QCAM-AA". LG Electronics today has unveiled the company's first “human-centric” wearable robot and unlike the previous robots from LG, the new LG CLOi SuitBot doesn’t navigate airport lounges and hotel hallways by itself. Instead, it will support and enhance a user’s legs to allow for more mfobility and lower limb strength.
The LG CLOi SuitBot was designed in collaboration with the startup, SG ROBOTICS. Thanks to the comfortable fit and naturally rotating joints, CLOi SuitBot is capable of moving in a more relaxed and natural way to enhance the lower body while walking, standing or working. Its sandal-type shoes and automatic adjustment feature allow the wearer to get in and out of the suit more easily.
The LG CLOi SuitBot can connect to other LG service robots so that it can become a part of a smart working network to deliver information and tools required at work sites such as manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. The AI technology lets LG CLOi SuitBot learn and evolve through the recognition and analysis of biometric and environment data, measuring and analyzing movements to suggest optimal movements and stances for maximum power efficiency. Google today announced that it is adding a quick-access side panel to the Docs editors and Google Calendar to help you quickly access other G Suite products without leaving the screen. Revamped Gmail packs similar side panel with easy access to Google Calendar, Tasks, Keep and your Gmail extensions.
Google is now bringing this integration to Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drawings. Within Google Calendar, you’ll be able to quickly access Keep and Tasks, while in the rest of the G Suite apps, you’ll get easy access to Calendar, Keep and Tasks. You’ll also see the side panel in Google Calendar, where you’ll be able to use Keep and Tasks.
In Gmail, you will be to access various G Suite extensions that you may have installed from the marketplace. However, this functionality isn't possible in Docs and Calendar at the moment. The feature appears to be slowly expanding across G Suite, and Google says that it might take two weeks before the complete roll out.
Samsung Electronics today announced that it has received the official HDR10+ logo certification for its 2018 Premium UHD and QLED TVs being HDR10+ compatible. The HDR10+ is a next-gen technology that provides users with a premium HDR viewing experience and delivers pristine images as originally intended by creators.
Thanks to the HDR10+ technology which helps HDR TVs to optimize brightness levels on a scene-by-scene by incorporating dynamic metadata, Samsung TVs can produce brighter highlights and darker darks for additional depth and sense of realism on-screen. TP Vision, which oversees Philips TV development, manufacturing, and marketing, will introduce HDR10+ to its entire lineup of 4K TVs next year.
Furthermore, V-Silicon will show a demo of HDR10+ in its private booth at IFA 2018. It also mentioned that Hollywood film production company Warner Bros. will also start creating HDR10+-compatible contents, which will be available for home distribution later this year. Samsung is also partnering with Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation to standardize the HDR10+ licensing process, in order to make it easier for content creators to realize its technology. Twentieth Century Fox is currently exploring several titles for release and will announce the availability in the coming weeks.

Update - August 23: Qualcomm India has confirmed that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon Mobile Platform. The Realme 1 was powered by MediaTek Helio P60 SoC. Realme also confirmed that the phone will feature a 6.2-inch display with 88.8% screen-to-body ratio, compared to 6-inch display with 75.7% screen-to-body ratio on the Realme 1. After confirming all the details about the R17 and taking pre-orders last week, OPPO recently confirmed that it will be introduced at an event in Shanghai on August 23rd, now the company has unveiled the price of the smartphone and said that the OPPO R17 Pro with a f/1.5/2.4 variable aperture camera, OIS, triple rear cameras will be introduced on that date.

It has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio AMOLED display with a notch, 91.5% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection an in-display fingerprint sensor that can unlock the phone in 0.41 seconds. runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) and has a 25-megapixel AI front camera, similar to the R17, but this is powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC with 8GB RAM.
It has a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.5 and f/2.4 variable aperture that intelligently switches depending on the light and also has OIS. LG today announced that the company would integrate Google Assistant on their 2018 TVs with AI ThinQ in the Q4 of 2018. LG also mentioned that it would be introducing the Google Assistant in seven more markets – Australia, Canada, France, Germany, South Korea, Spain and the United Kingdom with support in up to five languages.
The company says that this expansion is a part of LG's global strategy to raise the bar for voice recognition solutions enabled with LG’s ThinQ platform and the Google Assistant built in. Google Assistant will be available on all of LG’s webOS-based AI TVs in the new markets. LG’s 2018 AI ThinQ-enabled TVs with the Google Assistant built in, offers a streamlined experience that allows users to manage daily tasks, find answers or control compatible smart home devices.
Users can simply press and hold the mic button and ask for information, such as the weather forecast, a nearby restaurant’s hours, the latest sports scores or to dim the lights without interrupting the viewing experience. The Google Assistant is compatible with more than 5,000 smart devices across hundreds of popular brands. This feature will become available to customers in France, Germany, Japan and South Korea by the end of 2018.
