Google Pixel 3 with 5.5-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 845, Android 9.0 Pie surfaces in live image

After several Pixel 3 XL leaks, we have live images of the Pixel 3, thanks to a Reddit user. This reveals no-notch design, dual front speaker, glass + metal back, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and more. The Reddit user who posted the image said that the device was part of a testing program through a carrier other than Verizon, even though earlier rumors said that it will be Verizon-exclusive. Screenshots show some of the specs including a 5.5-inch (2160 x 1080) 18:9 aspect ratio display, Snapdragon 845, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, Dual 8.1MP front cameras with f/1.8 and f/2.2 aperture, respectively, and a 2,915mAh battery, slightly smaller than the 3,430mAh battery on t. It is expected to come bundled with USB Type-C headphones as we had seen in the Pixel 3 XL leak. The Google Pixel 3 series is expected to be introduced on October 9th, even though earlier rumor said that they will go official on October 4th, same as last year. Source

Apple iPhone XS with 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED display and Apple Watch Series 4 with larger, edge-to-edge display surface

After Apple announced its exclusive event on September 12th, press images of the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED models have surfaced, and these are expected to be called  iPhone XS. These are expected to come in new gold color option. Earlier rumors revealed that all the iPhone models will have a notch, Face ID with gesture-based control system and new A12 processor. Press image of the Apple Watch Series 4 has also surfaced revealing a large edge-to-edge display ~15% bigger compared to the Series 3, as well as minimal bezels around the watch display. It is also said to come with a new watch face capable of showing a lot of information. This analog watch face will show a total of eight complications around the time and within the clock hands. There is a new hole between the side button and Digital Crown, which could be a secondary microphone. It will also include a new Digital Crown and side button. Xiaomi migrates Indian users’ data to local cloud infrastructure

Xiaomi today announced that it is migrating its Indian data to cloud service providers with infrastructure in India. This cover all Indian user data across Xiaomi e-commerce platform (mi.com/in), Mi Community (in.c.mi.com), Mi Cloud, MIUI (Xiaomi Market, feed, Mi Video, advertising, Mi Messaging, push notifications, etc) and Mi TV. It is using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure infrastructure in India and the company said that all the existing data would be migrated by the end of 2018, while new Indian user data since 1 July is already being stored in local servers. All existing user data on mi.com/in will be fully migrated to servers in India by mid-September 2018. Prior to this these were stored in AWS servers across Singapore and the United States. This promises jump in access speed. Huawei Kirin 980 world’s first 7nm SoC with Dual NPU announced

Huawei at the IFA 2018 announced Kirin 980, its next-generation processor of high-end devices and the world’s first commercial mobile SoC manufactured with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturer Company’s (TSMC) 7nm proces and with dedicated Dual Neural Processing Unit (NPU). It is an Octa-Core SoC with two ARM Cortex A76 Cores clocked up to 2.6GHz for Turbo performance, two ARM Cortex A76 Cores clocked up to 1.92GHz for Long-lasting performance and four ARM Cortex A55 Cores clocked up to 1.8 GHz for power efficiency. It has support for LTE Cat.21 offering download speeds of up to 1.4 Gbps. It packs 6.9 billion transistors within a 1cm2 die size, up by 1.6 times from the previous generation. "Compared to the 10nm process, the 7nm process delivers 20 percent improved SoC performance and 40 percent improved SoC efficiency," said Huawei. Indian wearables shipments cross 1 million in Q2 2018, Xiaomi leads with 45.8% share: IDC

According to the latest report from International Data Corporation (IDC), the wearables market in India has witnessed a growth in the second quarter of 2018 (2018Q2) as the overall wearables market grew 66% year-over-year (YOY) and 40% sequentially, making it the biggest quarter for the wearables category in India. The report also mentioned that one million units of wearables were shipped in 2018 Q2 with top three brands retaining their position in the overall wearables market. Apart from wristbands, which accounted for almost 90% of the shipments during the quarter, watches with wearable computing also grew 34% sequentially. Mi fans! nubia-α wearable smartphone teased at IFA 2018

ZTE's nubia brand at the IFA 2018 in Berlin teased the nubia-α, which it calls the world's most advanced wearable smartphone. It says that it is not just a smartphone, it is a new species. It has a large, curved OLED touch screen, a camera on the front along with a microphone and buttons on either sides. On the back there are charging pins and a heart rate sensor. It also has a metal strap, and it comes in Black and Golden colors. The company did not share technical details or when it will go on sale, and the device in the video doesn't look like it is still in concept stage. It looks good in the video, but it is not clear how long this will last since most LTE smartwatches with calling capabilities doesn't last throughout the day. We should know more details about nubia's wearable smartphone in the coming months.

Huawei at the IFA 2018 announced that it has sold 10 million units of P20 Pro and P20 smartphones globally in the first five months. It also introduced new variants in the P20 series. It also said that it has shipped over 10 million units in the Mate 10 series. This includes Morpho Aurora and Pearl White variants of the P20 and the P20 Pro that are nature-inspired hues. The company also introduced leather variants of the P20 Pro. This includes Golden Brown and Elegant Black Leather back versions that uses Italian calf leather in the top layer, Pamelatto handmade tanning process offering exquisite, natural texture. Commenting on the latest milestone, Kevin Ho, President of Handset Business, Huawei Consumer Business Group, said: We are humbled by the reception of our latest flagships among global consumers. Huawei is doing some real work this 2018 with a lot of launches across both mid-range and high-end variants. Keeping up the spirit, the company has launched Nova 3 in the Indian market after making it official in China a few weeks back. Having said that, Huawei has launched the Nova 3 in direct competition to the OnePlus 6. We got hold of the device for more than a week and here is our take on it. Online retail giant Amazon has announced the launch of its e-commerce website in Hindi on the Amazon mobile App on Android & mobile website. With this move, customers can now read product information, find deals and discount, track their orders and manage their account in Hindi. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 / SM8150 gets benchmarked, reveals on par performance as Apple A11 Bionic

Qualcomm is gearing to introduce its next-generation flagship Mobile Platform in the coming months, and it confirmed that it will be built on the 7nm process node and will be 5G-capable when paired with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem. Now a new device powered by Qualcomm msmnile chip has passed through Geekbench, which could be the next-gen flagship SoC from Qualcomm. The device that it was tested on runs Android 9.0 (Pie) and has 6GB of RAM. This has registered a score of 3697 points for single-core and 10469 for Multi-Core. This is on-par with the Apple's A11 Bionic chip that scored 4238 points in the single-core test and 10478 points in Multi-Core test. It is way better than current Snapdragon 845-powered  flagships. Apple should launch its next-generation A12 SoC that will power its iPhone XS phones that will be unveiled on September 12th. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is expected to launch as SM8150 in Q4 2018. Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 teaser image reveals support for 5G

A few days back Xiaomi shared the 3D renders of the purported Mi Mix 3, but now, Donovan Sung, Director of Product Management, Xiaomi has posted the real photo of the phone itself and revealed the support for 5G as well. If the report turns out to be true, Mi Mix 3 will likely to sport an FHD+ AMOLED display with a screen-to-body ratio of over 90%, Snapdragon 845 with up to 8GB, and similar AI dual rear cameras. It is doubtful if there will be an in-display fingerprint sensor, but there might be a special edition with the feature, like the Mi 8 Explorer Edition.
