Xiaomi just launched the Redmi 6A, the company's latest budget smartphone in the Redmi series and the successor of last year's Redmi 5A in India, as it had promised. It has a large 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display with 80.5% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 12nm Quad-Core SoC with up to 2GB of RAM, has a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera both with AI Portrait mode, AI beautify, polycarbonate back panel with a brushed metal-like finish.
It doesn't have a fingerprint sensor but has face unlock. It has dedicated dual SIM slots compared to hybrid dual SIM slot in the Chinese version, and also has Dual 4G VoLTE, making it one of the few budget phones with this feature. This lets you keep two 4G or 4G VoLTE SIM cards active in your phone, in standby, which means you will be able to receive VoLTE call in any of your SIM cards at any one time. It packs a 3000mAh built-in battery, same as the predecessor.

Xiaomi just launched the Redmi 6, the company’s latest smartphone in the Redmi series and the successor of Redmi 5 that launched earlier this year, as it had promised. It has a 5.45-inch HD+ display 18:9 aspect ratio display with 80.7% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 12nm processor and runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI on top, packs a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera for AI portrait shots. It has a 5-megapixel front camera with face unlock and AI portrait as well as AI beautify features.
It has a polycarbonate back panel with a brushed metal-like finish, features a fingerprint sensor on the back, has dedicated dual SIM and microSD card slots and Dual 4G VoLTE support that lets you keep two 4G or 4G VoLTE SIM cards active in your phone, in standby so that you can receive VoLTE call in any of your SIM cards at any one time.
It packs a 3000mAh battery, which is slightly smaller than the 3300mAh battery on the Redmi 5, but the company says that it is more power efficient with the new 12nm SoC.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 6 Pro the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the Redmi series, as it had promised. It packs a 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch, is powered by Snapdragon 625 with up to 4GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI 9 on top, has a 12-megapixel rear camera with flash along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera for AI portraits and AI scene detection. With iPhone X, Apple got rid of the fingerprint scanner, and replaced it with the TrueDepth Camera System for Face ID as a biometric authentication method. Having said that, the company is planning to follow the same strategy with the upcoming iPhone devices as well according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
According to Kuo, Apple's 2019 iPhones won't be supporting the In-display fingerprint scanner either. He also added that Android manufacturers are adopting In-display fingerprint just to differentiate their device from the iPhone.
Furthermore, he also predicts 500% growth on smartphones with in-display fingerprint scanner by the first half of 2019. Apple's arch-rival Samsung is expected to include fingerprint on display technology for its Galaxy S10 during the first quarter of 2019.
Moreover, the other companies like Samsung also adopted facial recognition technology, but he mentioned that it is not as secure as Apple's TrueDepth Camera System.

Google Chrome turns 10 today! To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Google is rolling out Chrome with a new design and features across all browsers including desktop, iOS, and Android. First up, new-look for chrome. Starting today, users will see more rounded shaped corners, new icons, and a new color palette. It also comes with new rounded tabs, which is designed to be easier to see and useful for those who like to have too many tabs open in their browser.
Secondly, Google also made some tweaks to the auto fill department as well. The latest version called Chrome 69, it will accurately fill in passwords, addresses, and credit card numbers into forms. All this information is saved to your Google account, and can also now be accessed directly from the Chrome toolbar.
Thirdly, the company is getting an improved password manager, where Chrome will now generate one for you and will save it, and next time you sign in, it’ll be there, on both your laptop and phone. In a recent development, Cupertino giant Apple has filed two patent for bigger Apple Watch displays with curved edges and anti-burn-in solution for OLED displays.
As per the patent application, "The display may include full-strength pixels and may have a band of antialiasing pixels having selectively reduced strengths relative to the full-strength pixels." Having said that, the pixels may be OLED pixels, LCD pixels, or other display pixels.
With this Apple Watch, one can expect an all-new edge-to-edge display with 15% bigger displays for both sizes of Apple Watch. Apple's patent application 20180246363 titled "Pixel Array Antialiasing to Accommodate Curved Display Edges," was filed back in Q2 2018.
It's worth mentioning that, the Apple was granted a patent in April 2018 covering both round and curved display advancements for a future Apple Watch interface. The Cupertino giant also comes up with a patent that will help to solve the burn-in issue.

Xiaomi devices are well-known for the awesome custom ROM support, thanks to the developer community. Unlocked bootloader is required to flash custom ROM on devices, and whether a user should unlock the bootloader of devices or not seems a never-ending debate. Resellers on global shopping portal used to take advantage of bootloader unlocking policies of some OEMs to install bloatware and modify software before shipping devices. As a resolution, Xiaomi introduced a wait time of 72 hours (3 days) to unlock the bootloader, which was recently increased to 360 hours (15 days).

Social networking giant Facebook has filed a 118-page complaint against BlackBerry Ltd in San Francisco federal court. As per the complaint, Facebook claimed that Blackberry of stealing its voice messaging technology and other patented technology as well.
In addition to the voice messaging technology, Facebook also accused BlackBerry of using its patented technology that improves how a mobile device delivers graphics, video and audio and another that centralizes tracking and analysis of GPS data.
The company is asking for unspecified damages for infringement of six patents. Having said that, BlackBerry didn't respond yet to the accusation made by Facebook.
Earlier this year BlackBerry sued Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram apps for copying features like unread count from BlackBerry’s proprietary and patent-protected Messenger app, BBM.

Search engine giant Google is slowly updating its web service both in terms of feature and visual appeal. It's a known fact that Google has revamped Gmail, Chrome (Chrome 69) and now, its time for Google Photos.
The company has started rolling out the new version 4.0 with new ‘Material Theme’ that was briefly introduced at I/O 2018. With this update, the company brings refreshed icons, a new search bar with slightly rounded corners.
At the bottom, the bar features material theme icons for Photos, Albums, Assistant and Sharing, all with bold outlines. Having said that, most of the changes are in font and iconography. In addition to it, the company has also added a swipe-up gesture that allows users to check information about the photos without opening the menu.

After several rumors, Google has officially announced its hardware event on October 9th in New York City. The invite has the number '3' to indicate that the Pixel 3 series will be unveiled. The company is also expected to introduce other hardware products like last year, but the Pixel Watch is not expected as the company wants to "focus on improving Wear OS" while working together with other hardware manufacturers.

After rumors of Nokia phone with 5-camera lens on the back, the design sketch of it surfaced earlier this year. Now a prototype of the smartphone has surfaced in China with a similar design. Earlier rumors revealed that Foxconn is working to design and wil manufacture the phone. It has a model number TA-1094 and is rumored to release as Nokia 9 sometime early next year.
On the back there are 5 lenses arranged in 1-1-3 formation, one LED flash, an unknown sensor on a circular ring. This doesn't show a fingerprint sensor on the back, so there are chance for the company to introduce 3D face unlock like Apple or go for an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The phone is rumored to pack a 5.9-inch Quad HD OLED screen, Snapdragon 845, up to 8GB of RAM and OZO audio. HMD Global recently acquired 'PureView' brand, that Microsoft acquired right after the purchase of Nokia’s Devices and Services business back in the day, so there are chances for PureView to come back with Nokia 9.
