Microsoft today announced that its 'Office 2019' which is its next on-premises version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio, Access, and Publisher is generally available for Windows and Mac. The Office 2019 provides new features and updates to the on-premises apps for both users and IT professionals.
The Office 2019 provides a set of valuable enhancements for customers who can’t be cloud-connected or receive regular updates. The Office 2019 is a one-time release and won’t receive future feature updates. However, Microsoft said that it will continue to add more features to Office 365 ProPlus monthly, including innovations in collaboration, artificial intelligence (AI), security, and more.

Given the number of leaks, rumors, and reports in the past few weeks, we already know pretty everything that is there to know about the upcoming Pixel series flagships. It is also rumored that Google might be launching an accessory called 'Pixel Stand' which is a charging accessory for Pixel 3.
The tear down of the latest version of the Google app reveals a possible first look at the Pixel Stand. A brief animation within the app is currently hidden shows off a phone on a dock going through a slideshow of pictures. While it doesn't exactly show all the details about the product, it does give brief details.
The dock will likely work when the phone is in portrait orientation; lining up with the earlier leaks. The animation further reveals that it will also include some sort of slideshow function; similar to Google Photos “Photo Frame” functionality on smart displays. Another animation in another version of the Google app teases a notification functionality. It shows messages, alarms, calendar notifications, and music. However, the exact functionality is still a mystery.
Google is all set to unveil its Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones on October 9th.

Google might be testing new Color Pop, along with manual bokeh effects. as some users are reporting to have gotten the new editing tools The Color Pop keeps the focus of the photo in color and desaturates the rest of the shot. The manual bokeh lets you do something similar by blurring the background instead of desaturated.
It also lets you tap to change the focus and adjust the strength of the blur effect. Google is probably testing these features together because the underlying processing is similar. Photos will have to know the difference between the subject and background.
This feature will only work with regular photos, not those taken with depth effects enabled. Since it is in the early stages of testing, the feature is currently buggy; the Color Pop seems particularly rough. This means that there might a lot of work that needs to be done before these features roll out widely to everyone.

OPPO's Realme brand already teased the Realme 2 Pro smartphone in a video recently and also said that the phone will launch on September 27th exclusively on Flipkart. The company has also confirmed some of the specifications including Snapdragon 660 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM and dual rear cameras with AI features, on its social channels. A week after the Huawei ARS-AL00 / ARS-TL00, Huawei JKM-AL00 has been certified by TENAA, which is said to be released as Y9 (2019). This reveals a similar design and specifications as the Honor 8X that was introduced earlier this month. This reveals a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with narrow bezels and 91% screen-to-body ratio, 20-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, AI scene recognition, 2-megapixel secondary camera to capture depth information in portrait shots and 16-megapixel front camera.
This could be powered by the same Kirin 710 SoC, but this packs a 4000mAh battery, compared to the 3750mAh battery on the Honor 8X.

It is known that Samsung is holding an event on October 11th where the company is expected to launch a new Galaxy smartphone with four rear cameras. The new Galaxy smartphones will be in the company's A-series which might include the Galaxy A9 (Star / Pro).
Going by the rumors, the Galaxy A9 (Star / Pro) will likely carry the same A7 (2018) design language but with quadruple cameras on the back. It will have the fingerprint sensor on the back instead of on the side. As for the optics, among the four cameras; it will have an 8MP wide-angle camera with 120 ° FOV, a 24MP main camera, a 10MP, and 5MP zoom sensor, but among of them would work as a depth sensor. It will have a 24 MP Sony IMX576 front camera.
That's a lot of cameras for a smartphone and hence it sports a large 6.28-inches with a Super AMOLED FullHD + display. It is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-Core processor with a 3720 mAh battery. Since the launch is not too far, we don't wait to know much longer to know more details, stay tuned.

Apple with the iPhone XS and XS Max introduced the ability to control or adjust the depth of field of an image after it has been shot. However, a new report suggests that Apple is also planning on letting users adjust the depth while taking the picture. The feature is currently available in iOS 12.1 beta 1, meaning that Apple is using its iOS software to implement the feature.
With the current setup, controlling the depth of field control is only supported after an image is clicked in the Portrait Mode. You will have to take the picture, then tap on 'Edit' button to adjust the depth. However, the iOS 12.1 update is expected to let users control the depth of field directly while taking images.
Apple will add a new slider button allowing you to access the depth control tools. Since Apple has mentioned such a feature, this type of depth control will be possible in the future directly when taking pictures. A software update in the future will bring in the new slider directly into the camera app. However, Apple did not mention in which version of iOS 12 this feature would be rolled out but confirmed it will be released later ...
Google's YouTube, Android Messages have recently picked up 'Dark Mode' in a recent update and it now looks like Google Chrome might also get a dark mode, but it might launch first on macOS. There's also a chance that the dark mode might be exclusive to macOS.
Apple with its macOS 10.14 added a feature where it would allow users to choose a system-wide light or dark theme. Switching the system to dark mode will flip all compatible apps to a dark color palette. Though Chrome for MacOS doesn't support this feature yet, it might be in pipeline. According to a recent commit for Chrome on macOS is titled “Add command line switch to force dark mode.”
According to the bug report, it’s too late to add this feature to Chrome 70, but it might be included in 71. The Chrome 71 stable will release on December 4th and it needs to be seen how Google handles dark mode would basically look in Incognito mode. Being able to swap all apps to dark mode would be very convenient.

Google today announced that its 'Android Security Reward' program in its third year has received over 470 qualifying vulnerability reports from researchers and the average pay per researcher jumped by 23%. The company also mentioned that the 'Android Security Reward' program has rewarded researchers with over $3M.
Google said that a complete remote exploit chain leading to TrustZone or Verified Boot compromise and over 99 individuals contributed one or more fixes. The 'Android Security Reward' program's reward averages were $2,600 per reward and $12,500 per researcher. Guang Gong received highest reward amount to date; $105,000 for the submission of a remote exploit chain.
Google introduced the Play Security Rewards in October 2017 to encourage security research into popular Android apps available on Google Play. So far, researchers have reported over 30 vulnerabilities through the program and earned a combined bounty amount of over $100K. Google says that it has collaborated with manufacturers to ensure that the said issues are fixed on their devices through monthly security updates.
The company also listed around 250 device models which are said to be having security update from the last 90 days. These models range from brands like Asus, OnePlus, HMD Global's Nokia, HTC, Samsung, BlackBerry, Blu, Huawei, Lava, Motorola, OPPO, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi and others.

With the Chrome 69 release, when you log into your Google account, or any Google service, you will also be automatically logged into Chrome whether you want to or not. There is a visual indicator letting the user know he is logged into Google. However, Matthew Green, a cryptography professor at Johns Hopkins University, feels that it might be a big deal as it associates browsing with a Google account.
Browsing history shouldn't be associated with a Google account unless you choose to log in to Chrome. Though the browsing data is not uploaded and sync is not enabled, there might be data gathered by the authentication process alone. When you sign in to the Chrome browser or a Chromebook with your Google Account, your personal browsing data is saved on Google's servers and synced with your account.

Earlier this month Motorola officially announced that it is rolling out Oreo update for the Moto G5 Plus users in India and Brazil and for the Moto G5 users in Mexico. Now the company has started rolling out the update for G5 and G5S Plus smartphones in India.
The company confirmed Android 8.0 update for a range of smartphones including Moto G5 series back in September last year, now these phones are getting the Android 8.1 update directly, skipping Android 8.0. The company began Android 8.1 (Oreo) soak test for the Moto G5 Plus users in India and Brazil back in July.
The Android 8.1 Oreo update for the phones are about 1.2GB in size and also come with Android security patch for August, 2018.
This update introduces changes including the following:

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 smartphone earlier this year running MIUI 9.2 based on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat), and it got the MIUI 9.5 update few months back, but it was based on Android Nougat 7.1.2, last month it released Android Oreo update. After the Redmi Y2, Redmi Note 5 Pro, and Mi 5, the Redmi Note 5 users have received the stable MIUI 10 OTA update.
The new update comes as MIUI 10.0.1.0.OEIMIFH and is 455 MB in size. Huawei is all set to introduce its flagship Mate 20 series of smartphones that includes the Mate 20 Pro with triple rear Leica cameras on October 16. Now the press renders of the smartphone has surfaced in Twilight, Blue and Black colors. The phone is also expected to come in Green color variant. This reveals a large notch, compared to the waterdrop notch on the Mate 20, probably to house sensors for 3D face unlock.
In addition to the f/1.8 to f/2.4 aperture cameras, the phone is also said to come with a third wide-angle camera, but it is not clear if the phone will come with a 40-megapixel sensor like the P20 Pro. However, the phone will likely include 5x loss-less zoom.

After the announcement of Nubia Z18, the company is gearing to launch the Z18S that has been certified in China with the model number NX616J. This reveals dual displays, 6.26-inch FHD+ LCD screen on the front and a 5.1-inch HD+ AMOLED screen on the back. This also reveals dual fingerprint sensors on the sides, just below the power button and the volume rockers. This doesn't reveal a front camera, which is surprising for a flagship smartphone.

Microsoft says that for mobile workforces and Firstline Workers, desktop virtualization makes managing and provisioning access to corporate data and apps easier. It also gives IT options in supporting scenarios such as giving access to specific apps to certain employees. Google last year introduced the 'Google Feed' which will surface relevant content from the web to you even when you're not searching. Today, Google is a major making change to it including a new name, a fresh look, and a brand-new set of features. The 'Google Feed' will be called 'Discover'.
Additionally, you’ll also see new types of content in Discover, more videos and fresh visual content, as well as evergreen content including articles and videos that aren’t new to the web. Microsoft introduced Surface Hub 2 with 50.5-inch 4K multi-touch display with 3:2 aspect ratio and extremely thin bezels and several new features back in May. At the Ignite the company has announced that the Surface Hub 2S with lighter, thinner, more vibrant design will be available in Q2 2019 with original Surface Hub software.
It also said that it can be updated to Surface Hub 2X in 2020 using an upgrade cartridge. This includes the ability to tile, rotate, and enable multi user log in with removable processor cartridges, in an easily accessible hardware chassis on the back of the Surface Hub 2.
Microsoft said that the processor cartridge can be removed, upgraded and serviced over time. This will let you switch to the Microsoft 365 powered Surface Hub 2X in 2020. Even though the software will be different, both the Surface Hub 2S and 2X will have the same 4K edge-to-edge multi-touch display, 4K cameras that rotate with the device, integrated speakers, and far-field mic arrays. Microsoft hasn't revealed the price of Surface Hub 2 yet.
