According to sources in the Apple supply chain, Apple is said to be prepping a new fifth-generation iPad mini for the first half of 2019. This will be followed by a new entry-level iPad in two versions. The report claims that Apple is preparing to launch a low-priced iPad mini 5 in the first half of next year in an attempt to boost the declining sales of iPads.
The mass production is expected to start by the end of December. Apple hasn't updated its smallest iPad since September 2015. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed in October that Apple is working on a new version of the iPad mini with an upgraded processor and a lower-cost display panel. He, however, mentioned that it might be released in 2018 or early 2019, adding more weight to the new development.
As for Apple's entry-level iPad, the latest report claims that Apple would replace its sixth-generation 9.7-inch iPad with a similarly priced model that features a 10-inch display within a narrower frame. According to sources, Microsoft is said to be planning on making a return to the webcam market as the company is working on a new 4K-capable camera that could work with both Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One. The Microsoft webcam will provide Windows Hello-based authentication, making the first time the company has provided this capability on a standalone camera.
Microsoft has only provided Windows Hello functionality via the camera systems built into its Surface PCs only so far. On Xbox One, the upcoming webcam will let users sign-in automatically simply by moving in front of the camera. This will work with multiple users, too.
Microsoft’s new webcams might be linked to the new USB-C-based webcam that it will ship alongside Surface Hub 2 later this year. The device comes with multiple USB-C ports around its periphery so that you can mount a single camera, or use multiple cameras. The upcoming Microsoft webcam will be enterprise-focused. No details regarding the launch timeline are available yet.

After creating Guinness World Record by building the largest light mosaic (logo) in the world, back in September and inaugurating over 500 Mi Stores simultaneously at the exact same time in November. Xiaomi at the launch of Mi Play smartphone today achieved a new Guinness World Record by building largest animated mobile phone mosaic using Mi Play smartphone in China.
Even though it was already done using 504 mobile phones, Xiaomi has used 1008 mobile phones to form a Christmas tree pattern for achieving the new Guinness World Record. Xiaomi said that it took two weeks of preparation. It started building the 7.9-meter-high Christmas tree mobile phone mosaic at 4AM and it was completed by 4PM.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that when he arrived at the venu, he realized how complicated it was. The whole process required simultaneous control of more than a thousands mobile phones and required playing Christmas videos.

Update - December 25,2018: Xiaomi has started rolling out Mi A1 Android 9.0 (Pie) stable update for more users widely, including users in India. It has build number PKQ1.180917.001.V10.0.3.0.PDHMIFK, compared to v10.0.2.0 that rolled out earlier this month and is 1069.1MB in size, slightly smaller than the 1074.9MB. It brings December Android security patch. If you haven't received the update, you can download it from here (or here) and flash it manually. If you have already reveived or flashed v10.0.2.0 update, you will receive a small update to 10.0.3.0 probably to fix bugs.
Earlier: Last week we reported that Xiaomi started rolling out Android Pie beta update for closed beta tester. The update was also rolled out as stable update in some countries such as Netherlands. In addition to Android Pie 9.0 features including Adaptive Battery that uses machine learning to prioritize system resources for the apps, Adaptive Brightness, new Pill based navigation gestures and recommended Apps and Actions based on user context using machine learning, the update also finally brings Dual 4G VoLTE support in as well support for FM Radio.

Xiaomi India launched the Redmi 5 running MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat back in March. Last month it was updated to MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM which was based on Android 7.1 (Nougat) only but the company started rolling out Android 8.1 (Oreo) based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM towards the end of last month. Now, Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 8.1 (Oreo) based MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM for the smartphone.

The new Android Oreo-based update comes as MIUI 10.1.3.0.ODAMIFI and is 1.3 GB in size, Xiaomi has updated the Android security patch as well and now it runs on Nov 2018 security patch. Though the update is labeled as Stable in the screenshots, it may be in the partial rollout stage. If you haven’t received the update on your device, you can download the Recovery ROM here and flash it using the recovery method.
As expected, the Oreo-based update also brings Dual 4G VoLTE feature to the device which was recently enabled in a MIUI 10 Global Beta update. As per users on Mi Community, Xiaomi has not enabled Portrait mode and Face Unlock with the update. Check out the changelog below,

Xiaomi's POCO launched the F1 smartphone in India in four versions, including a Kevlar Armored Edition with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, now it has launched a new 6GB RAM with 128GB storage Armored Edition of the smartphone in the country. OnePlus has released OxygenOS 9.0.0 Android 9.0 (Pie) stable update for its 5 and 5T smartphones, after it rolled out beta update couple of weeks back. This comes after the OnePlus 6 got the stable Android Pie-based OxygenOS 9.0 update back in September. The update brings new navigation gestures for the 5T, Google Lens integration in camera, Gaming mode 3.0 and more features.

Samsung has finally started rolling out Android Pie update to Galaxy S9 and S9+. The stable Android Pie update based on One UI is rolling out to the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in Germany. The update is released for those running on Android Oreo and Pie beta testers as well. The software version for the final update is G960FXXU2CRLI and G965FXXU2CRLI for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ respectively.
The update is around 1.7GB and brings December security patch as well. One UI based on Android Pie brings a brand new look to the interface. The company recently started beta testing the Pie update for the Galaxy Note 9, so it isn't clear if stable is rolling out to Note 9 as well. if you’re a Galaxy S9 or S9+ user, do check for the update from the Settings » Software update. As said, the update is rolling out to both those running on Android Oreo and Pie beta testers.

It is known that Samsung is working on Galaxy M-series and the smartphones are slated to release in the coming months. The new series is expected to replace the current Galaxy J, Galaxy On, and Galaxy C series devices in the company’s lineup. The Galaxy M-series has three smartphones in development; Galaxy M10, M20, and M30 respectively.
The Galaxy M30 has now appeared on the Geekbench website, revealing some of its specifications. As per the Geekbench listing, the Galaxy M30 will be powered by an Exynos 7885 SoC, 4GB of RAM and Android Oreo 8.1 onboard. Earlier reports suggest that the Galaxy M30 will come in 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants.
Despite the Android 9.0 Pie roll out, the Galaxy M-series will launch with Oreo. It is common for brands to develop and test prototypes with older components and software, so, there is still a possibility for the Galaxy M30 to launch with better specs and updated software. The listed specs don’t appear very different from current Galaxy mid-range devices. So, it needs to be seen whether these would be the final specs or if Samsung would change specs for the final version.

Samsung Electronics has announced that it will showcase eight innovative new projects related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) that are developed from its C-Lab (Creative Lab) program at CES 2019. In addition, eight start-ups which have been spun off from C-Lab will showcase their newly released commercial products.
The eight new C-Lab projects include an in-video virtual ad service ‘Tisplay’, an ASMR sound recording solution ‘aiMo’, an instant video-making service ‘MEDEO’, an AI news analysis service ‘PRISMIT’, a custom perfume making service ‘Perfume Blender’, an auto-adjusting monitor ‘Girin Monitor Stand’, an AI desk light ‘alight’, and a hearing assistant solution ‘SnailSound’.
This announcement will help C-labs to refine the projects and prepare the prototypes that will eventually become finished products to take to market. In addition to these projects, eight start-ups which have been spun off from Samsung C-Lab – MOPIC, LINKFLOW, lululab, WELT, Cooljamm company, MONIT, BLUEFEEL, and analogue plus will participate at CES 2019 to showcase their newly released commercial products. Apple is reportedly working on 5th-gen iPad mini and entry-level 10-inch iPad for 2019. The manufacturing is already underway this month. Before the official launch, we are getting to see the first iPad mini 5 case that shows off a couple of interesting details.
There are few notable changes if the leaked case ends up being a legitimate case. There's an oblong camera cutout that matches up with the new iPad Pro camera configuration. This means that the upcoming iPad Mini 5 will be getting a flash to go along with its camera. The rear camera will have a vertical arrangement in-line with current iPhones.
It’s difficult to tell, but it looks like a headphone jack cutout is included with this case in the top right corner. There’s also a cutout in the middle of the device on the edge, bringing up the possibility for Apple’s first-gen smart connector. Although this could also be a functional part of the case not related to Apple’s hardware.

The Artificial Intelligence Noise Cancelation (AINC) analyzes background sound and adjusts it for optimal performance on airplanes and other noisy environments. You can activate the feature with just a press and hold of the NC button. It has NFC connection to parit with NFC-enabled devices and comes with Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) feature.
