Not long ago, we saw that the UK retail box of the red Google Nexus 5 leaked out. Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini A200, a mid-range smartphone went on sale recently. Now three new Micromax smartphones in the Bolt series, the Micromax Bolt A24, Bolt A37B and Bolt A46 are available online. The Bolt A24 has a 2.8-inch QVGAscreen, powered by a 1 GHz Spreadrtum SC6820 processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). At the Abu Dhabi event in 2013, Nokia announced two phablets - Nokia Lumia 1520 and Nokia Lumia 1320. Among the two phablets, Nokia Lumia 1520 was the high end phablet with top of the shelf specifications and features. Nokia Lumia 1320, on the other hand, was supposed to be the mid-range phablet. The HTC One successor, codenamed M8, is all set to be released to the market in a couple of months, as the Taiwanese company plans to repeat its predecessor's success. One interesting rumour that had persisted all this while was that HTC was finally going for on screen buttons instead of the weird capacitive ones on the HTC One and other devices. According to a leak from one Seina Weibo user, the HTC M8's one screen buttons, the one you see in the image above, might just have been revealed. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was one of the first devices to incorporate on-screen buttons after the introduction of Android 4.0 for phones and tablets and then the trend caught up with other OEMs like Sony, but HTC curiously avoided it, which might change with the M8.
The move to on screen buttons will introduce considerable amount of changes to HTC's thinking of the Sense UI, as there will be lesser space to work with than before, and accidental touches might have to be taken into account too. But Android apps generally have already worked around that with responsive UIs so it wouldn't be a problem for HTC to lose some screen ...

Windows 8.1 Update 1, a small evolutionary update to the controversial operating system from Microsoft, has leaked ahead of its official March release. The update 1 is squarely aimed at desktop users, with enhancements made to lessen the gestural actions that don't make sense for people using Windows 8 with a keyboard/mouse combination. New mouse-focused context menus, search and power/shutdown buttons on the lock screen and the ability to add metro apps to the taskbar are some of the notable changes in Update 1. This sets the stage for the next version of Windows codenamed "Threshold" which will be detailed at the Build developer event in April and released to OEMs sometime next year.
The leaked build, which is supposedly three weeks before the current one, offers a glimpse into how Microsoft is taking steps to bring the old desktop and the new Metro UI more closer. While this is a small update to Windows 8, after the big 8.1 update, the next one, "Threshold" will apparently support the windowing of metro apps on the desktop and a unified app store for phone, tablets and PCs. Samsung is expected to announce the next iteration of Galaxy S series sometime soon and there were early rumors that Samsung will be holding an event on Feb 23rd, but it turns out that they are holding the unpacked event on Feb 24th, just on the starting day of MWC 2014. The event invite tells us that this is Samsung's Unpacked event 5 and it also mentions it as episode 1. The event will take place in Barcelona.

Last week LG confirmed that it would launch the LG G Pro 2, successor of the LG G Pro later this month. The company did not reveal the specifications or image of the device at that time. Last week images of the G Pro 2 appeared online showing G2-like rear-mounted power button and volume keys. Today LG has confirmed that it would have a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer or optical image stabilization) capabilities.

Google announced their 35$ dongle - Chromecast at the Google I/O 2013 event last year. At launch, Chromecast was restricted to US and eventually started rolling out to other countries. It is officially available in India and is priced around Rs. 3,300 from Amazon. What this Chromecast does is that it lets you stream content from your iOS or Android device or PC to your TV via WiFi.
