Nokia X is the first smartphone from the Espoo company running Android, and more importantly, Android apps. It was launched in India just a day back for a price of Rs. 8,599/-. "X" is symbolic in many ways. the company is now at the cross roads of a transition from being an independent company to being owned by Microsoft, the maker of software running on Nokia's current smartphones. X is also the bridge between Nokia's struggling smartphone business and its traditional feature phone business. Nokia knew, that without apps, its revived Asha platform phones are getting nowhere, and they also knew that it will never create this familiarity factor with Windows Phone, a crucial factor for any company that has a wide array of devices. Hence the Nokia X happened, and just a day after it officially launched in India, we now have it with us, in retail form, for a quick unboxing and overview of the device on video, watch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQlW_s3Ww2I As you can see from the video above, the box contents are very minimal and to the point, and very similar to what we usually see inside the boxes of Asha devices. Motorola had revealed its plans to introduce the Moto X in India, during the Mobile World Congress event, and it also had said that, much like the Moto G, the X too will be launched through Flipkart. As a confirmation, Flipkart has now started to tease the Moto X launch on Twitter, adding that there will be exclusive launch day offers and that the launch details will be revealed in a couple of days. With the success of Moto G, Flipkart goes ahead with yet another exclusive launch, but this time, the reception might not be as overwhelming. This is mainly because the phone is already late to the market, and its initial pricing in the US was off the mark, making a really capable device flop in the market. But now that the prices have come down drastically, it will be interesting to see how well it is priced for the Indian market. The Motorola Moto G was priced very competitively with the worldwide prices, in fact it almost matched the conversion rates. In that sense, if Moto X launches in India with a price tag of 339$(Around Rs. 20,000), it could be yet another potential best seller. [HTML1] The Moto X, ...

Microsoft would offer Windows Phone free, without any licensing fee for its Indian partners, according to a recent report from the Economic Times. Last month Microsoft announced nine new partners, that includes, Karbonn and Xolo from India. Karbonn recently announced that it would launch dual-boot phones in coming months. Xolo did not announce its plans for Windows Phone devices yet, but it recently unveiled Xolo Win, the company's first Windows 8 tablet powered by AMD chip. Microsoft already gets between $5 and $15 per device as a licensing fee from its partners. Waiving it would completely stop their incoming from the manufacturers. This move is to increase the number of affordable Windows Phone handsets in the market, says the report. Last year's report revealed that Microsoft wanted HTC to dual-boot Windows Phone on their Android smartphones, and were ready to provide Windows Phone for free to HTC. Since the Windows Phone 8.1 would be more features for affordable smartphones, such as support for Snapdragon 200 and 400, chipsets, minimum 512MB RAM and 4GB of storage, dual-SIM support, option to install apps in the SD card, on-screen buttons and more. Nokia launched the Nokia X, the company's first Android smartphone that uses the free ...

LG has been coming back to the Android territory rather strongly. The LG Optimus G kicked off things for the South Korean manufacturing giant as it was warmly received by people and Google thought that is how their Nexus range should look like and LG came up with LG Nexus 4 and a similar thing happened with the LG G2 as Google's Nexus 5 takes its cues from the LG G2. LG G2 was announced sometime in August last year, but it looks like LG G3 could see a June launch giving it time before Samsung Galaxy Note 4. LG G Pro 2, which was recently announced, was a magnified version of LG G2 and competes with Galaxy Note 3. To lead LG in the flagship battle, LG still has the 8 month old LG G2. Popular Twitter account - @evleaks has tweeted a screenshot from a User Agent Profile of what he believes to be LG G3. @evleaks has been right about his leaks and if this is indeed the LG G3 - model number LG G850. There is no word on the LG G3 except that it is being prepared for a June launch and this is the first rumor ...

Last month there were reports that Karbonn would launch dual-OS phones running both Android and Windows Phone by June. Huawei would also launch a similar dual-OS device, running both Android and Windows Phone, according to a recent report from TrustedReviews. This smartphone is expected to go on sale in the US in Q2, 2014, said Chief Marketing Officer Shao Yang, in an interview to the website. Huawei announced the Ascend W1, the company's first Windows Phone handset, back in January last year, after several delays. The successor, Ascend W2 was unveiled last November. Both these had mid-range specifications, and did not launch in India. A recent report said Microsoft plans to waive license fee for Windows Phone to Indian hardware partners, but Huawei still have to pay license fee. Huawei introduced the Ascend G6, MediaPad X1 and MediaPad M1 at the MWC 2014 last month, but it did not unveil their third Windows Phone handset, Ascend W3. Microsoft might be behind this, asking their partners to introduce dual-OS phones to improve the market share. Since the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 OS would support new Snapdragon 200 and 400 chips and a range of features for making a low-cost smartphone, an affordable dual-OS smartphone might not be ...

Google Drive service was started by Google to tackle the many cloud storage companies like Dropbox, Box. Now it is one among the important Google products and is closely tied to your Google Plus profile and GMail. Each time you open a GMail account, you get 15GB free storage option that includes the size of your attachments and your files in Google Drive. Beyond the free 15GB, users had to pay to get more storage from Google. Until today, the pricing was as follows - 100GB - 4.99$ per month 1TB - 49.99$ per month And today, Google has slashed the prices by a big margin and the new pricing is as follows 100GB - 1.99$ per month 1TB - 9.99$ per month The huge slash in price is likely to gain a lot of popularity among users and Google expects them to flock to Google Drive. Dropbox is one of Google Drive's biggest competitors and offers 2GB free storage while Google offers 15GB. Dropbox's premium plan offers you 100GB for 9.99$ per month or 99.99$ per year which is quite expensive when you compare Google's pricing.

When Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom last year, a lot of folks were confused if it was a camera or a smartphone - apparently, it was both. Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, getting its moniker from the then company flagship, was expected to come with the top of the line specs, but it wasn't true then. Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom was modest in terms of specifications and came with a 16MP camera on its back along with a 10x optical zoom. The device looked more like a camera than a smartphone. The device wasn't very popular among the buyers, but it looks like Samsung hasn't given up already. According to a GFXBench result, supposed Galaxy S5 Zoom was spotted in the benchmarks. According to the benchmarks, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom comes with a 4.8inch 720p HD display(remember Samsung Galaxy S3?), 1.3 GHz Exynos 5 Hexa processor, 2GB RAM and ARM Mali T-624 GPU. There will be a microSD card slot as it was in the Galaxy S4 Zoom. There will also be a 2MP front camera and the Galaxy S5 Zoom will be able to capture 1080p Full HD videos from both the cameras.
