Google is definitely considering the wearable market as its next battleground and it is equipping itself in the process. Earlier in 2013, Google announced that they will be launching the Explorer Edition of Google Glass for $1500 and eventually it will come to the market at a much lower price point. Last week, they announced Android Wear SDK for wearables(read smartwatches). Wearables are one domain where Apple is set to foray its intentions and Google seeks to get ahead in the race even before Apple arrives. They have just tied up with Luxottica group which is one of the most recognized eye wear brands in the world. The Luxottica portfolio includes Ray-Ban, Oakley, Vogue-Eyewear, Persol, Oliver Peoples, Alain Mikli and Arnette. For now, there are around 40 variants of the Google Glass that can be achieved by changing the frames, shades and colors, but according to Google, that is not enough. With the new partnership, Google wants to give its Explorers more choices when they choose the Glass. Google seeks to use Luxottica's expertise in manufacturing and glass design to build better Glass products. They also seek to expand the reach of Google Glass through Luxottica's marketing and sales teams in addition to ...

Ever since Xiaomi, the popular smartphone manufacturer from China, laid out plans for expansion to Singapore, we knew that India was coming. As a confirmation to this, we have a Cnet interview of Hugo Barra talking about the company's impending entry into the burgeoning Indian smartphone market and a tweet from the head of Google India, who had a meeting with Xiaomi's Lin Bin and Hugo Barra as a part of the ongoing initiative. Xiaomi recently launched in Singapore, its first market outside China, and looks to expand rapidly to become a true global player. Xiaomi is looking to the Indian market next, where Barra will be following Xiaomi's already established modus operandi with a new office and new relationships with telecoms and partners, all alongside the company's successful e-commerce portal as a platform to sell its handsets directly. According to Barra, this business model will allow Xiaomi to maintain its strategy of selling its smartphones at a really low price, almost close to cost. The quote above, taken from the Cnet interview states that Xiaomi's target will be India next, and it will be bringing its single point of sale e-commerce portal along as its own distribution channel. Apple testing related search suggestions in App Store on iOS

$

Apple has started testing related app search results in the Apple Store for iOS devices. This shows a bar with related search terms at the top of the search results page, when you search for an app or a game. If you search for "fun", it shows iPhone games, easy games and more. If you click on one suggestion, it shows more related suggestions. It is not clear if the search suggestions are based on keywords chosen by developers, popular searches or any other algorithm. Apple bought San Francisco-based App Store search engine Chomp back in 2012 to bring new features related to better search and recommendations for apps, but the iOS6 and iOS7 changelog did not mention any changes related to App Store search. Earlier this year Apple announced that the Apple App Store has more than one million apps in 24 categories. Since the number of apps continue to increase every day, it is hard to find apps suitable to your taste. If Apple continues to roll out the new related search suggestion feature across all its platforms, it might be useful for users to find more apps. This feature is not available for everyone. It is currently available only for iPhone users on iOS 7.0 ...

The much leaked next generation HTC One, also known as the M8, was just announced at an event here in New York and FoneArena was live at the venue to report on it. We've had some time with the handset that has a tall order to fill being the successor to the rather excellent HTC One. So without further ado, let's get onto our hands on with the brand new HTC One M8.  Video Hands On httpv://youtu.be/AtMPlPZ75-8 Right off the bat, you notice that the design is an evolution of the HTC One and takes cues from the entire One series of phones. The curved corners of the phone are now more pronounced and should fit better in the hand. The construction remains aluminum and the phone will now be available in a glacial silver and gunmetal color. Here we have with us the gunmetal variant of the device and we've gotta say that it definitely stands out. The front of the phone essentially consists of the 5 inch Full HD panel. Gone are the capacitive buttons at the bottom of the screen but the large bezels remain and that's a definite drawback. HTC could've managed to shrink the size of the phone substantially ...

HTC has finally revealed its most awaited flagship phone, the One (M8), at an event in New York today. The flagship phone takes on a countless number of other Android flagship devices with an upgraded design and internals, bringing it up to speed, literally. The new One improves upon the older one in a lot of ways, and one of them is by innovating(again) on the camera side. The original One had the industry's first Ultrapixel sensor, a 4.1 MP camera with pixels sized at 2 microns, which is back on the new HTC One (M8) but it is also accompanied by a secondary camera.
