Images of the Blue HTC One surfaced last month, now HTC has officially announced that the HTC One and the One mini would come in Vivid Blue colors. The HTC One was released in Silver and Black colors initially and the Red HTC One was released in China and UK recently. The One mini was released in Glacial Silver and Stealth Black colors similar to the One.
New colors would offer customers range of choices. Samsung announced the Galaxy S4 in five new colors including Pink, Blue, Red, Purple and Brown back in June, in addition to the Black Mist and White Frost color variants. Hope other companies like LG follow them and launch their flagship smartphone in range of colors in addition to the Black and White colors.
The new Vivid Blue HTC One and One mini models would be available in select markets from Q4 2013.

Motorola and Google unveiled the latest Android smartphone, the Moto X recently. We brought you the unboxing of the device recently, here we have the benchmarks of the device. Nokia and Microsoft just ended their joint press conference, in an effort to explain the acquisition the companies announced earlier today. As with any major announcement, especially with a brand like Nokia which invokes a lot of emotion, the reactions were predictably.... emotional. Risto Siilasma probably said it best, at the joint Nokia press conference in Finland - The acquisition is "Rationally perfect, emotionally complicated." which we wholeheartedly agree with. But what drove the companies towards this deal? Why did Microsoft buy Nokia? What's in it for both the companies? We try to explain with two points of views, read on.
Why Nokia entered the deal
The Smartphone market was going through a fundamental change. The Industry was becoming a duopoly with many established companies disappearing, like for example HP/Palm. It was also clear that the strategic shift to Windows Phone meant that the company cannot do it alone in the devices and services arena.

Oppo has been constantly teasing the officially confirmed N1, the first in the series of camera centric flagship devices from the Chinese manufacturer. This time, they have revealed that the device is going to sport a huge 5.9 inch screen, which negates the earlier leaked specifications that the device will sport a 5.5 inch display. They have also revealed the front wireframe, which looks remarkably similar to the earlier leaked images, confirming the authenticity of the leaks. It was revealed to have a back-side touch sensor to navigate in a completely different way, adding to the fact that it might sport a really good camera.
With this new official confirmation from Oppo, the 5.9 inch screen ticks off yet another thing we didn't know or had miscalculated about the new flagship device.
With really thin bezels, the device is still positively huge and now we can corroborate with the hugeness of the Oppo N1 in the leaked images, like the one above. With this huge screen, the device enters into the large screen Phablet territory, which might arguably have already been breached slightly by the Find 5. EVLeaks, the guy known for most leaks these days has revealed yet another interesting bit of information today, pertaining to the future of Windows Phone. On the day of the huge Microsoft-Nokia announcement, this leak comes as something to look forward to, but then after taking a single glance at it will be quite the opposite of a reaction. Yes, what you see above in the leaked image is an indirect confirmation of the existence of Nokia Lumia 1520 codenamed "bandit" and a quick look at the cluttered look of the Windows Phone GDR3's 1080p supported start screen.
At first glance, you can notice that the cluttered start screen has an extra column of medium sized tiles that occupy the screen. The screen comes at a resolution of 1920x1080 which confirms the fact that Windows Phone GDR3 exists and is in the works, and also tells us that it might not be easy on the eyes. There is an overload of information on that screen in our opinion, but that's quite subjective we agree.

BlackBerry announced that they would release the BlackBerry Messenger for iOS and Android devices, back in May. First images of the BlackBerry Messenger for Android surfaced in leaked images last month. Now the first video demo of the BlackBerry Messenger for Android has surfaced online, that shows off most of the features of the app.
The UI is exactly similar to the BlackBerry Messenger on BlackBerry 10 including a slide-out menu with Chat, Contacts, Groups, Updates and Invites. You can slide from the right to go to settings, group chat, report a problem, Help and more. You can start a chat by tapping their display picture in the contacts. It also has NFC support that lets you beam a contact to other Android device easily. It also supports emoticons, attach an image or a voice note to messages.
The website that leaked the video says that the app runs well so far BlackBerry plans to release it very soon. Hope we can see the app later this month as planned. Check out the demo video below.

Our initial impressions of the device echoed the same thoughts but what makes it an even greater camera is the accessory that released along with the device. We recently got the black coloured camera grip from the US, as you saw above in the video. On the back of the box you can see that the case comes in three colours, the same ones as the Lumia 1020 colour variants. While we have the yellow one, we still were only able to get the black camera grip.

Out of the blue, Google have announced the codename for the next version of their Android operating system. The next sweet Google update is called Android 4.4 KitKat. The next update has been just named and no other details have been revealed, but that isn't the real story here, it's the name. Apple has finally decided to make the yearly "new iPhone" day official. September 10th is the date, so mark your calendars if you haven't already, because it's been a while since Apple reporters predicted the exact launch date of the new Apple iPhone(s). With coloured flat bubbles dominating the invite, it's quite easy to understand that the iPhone 5C might be what Apple is indicating here.
The event is slated to start at 10 AM PT in San Francisco on the 10th of September where Apple is expected to send out final builds of iOS 7 while simultaneously announce new hardware running of the newly refreshed OS. The new hardware rumours are currently dominated by the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S, both of which have happily leaked out in full glory. We have seen various leaks of how the cheaper iPhone is going to look like, let alone the Champagne gold iPhone 5S, but it always still isn't true until Apple says it.

Lava E-Tab Velo+, a new tablet in the Lava's E-Tab range is now available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capactive multi-touch display, powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), similar to the recently launched XTRON+. It has a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera, but lacks a rear camera. It doesn't have a SIM card slot or voice calling capabilities, but supports dongles.

Intex has launched the Aqua i7, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the Aqua series. It has a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Matrabhasha a multi-lingual application introduced with the entry-level phones recently. It lets users operate the phone in preferred regional language supporting upto 22 regional languages.

Apple announced an event on September 10th few hours back. Now a new video from uploaded by Unbox Therapy shows an iPad shell or digitizer along with the rear casing compared with the iPad 4. The video claims that these are the parts of the 5th-generation iPad. According to the video, the new iPad would be narrower by 15mm and have a slim side bezel similar to the iPad mini. The edges are rounded, different from tapered design of the fourth-gen iPad.
The bezel width is uniform on all four sides and the rear aluminum shell has also been redesigned. The video also reveals a dual loudspeaker ports that suggests that the next-gen iPad would probably adopt the iPad mini's stereo design.We can't confirm anything with the video that just shows off the internals. Having announced the Google KitKat partnership for the next version of Android, the company released a video showing a celebratory installation of the new mascot in GooglePlex. This video might have looked normal at first, but keen eyes spotted a weird new device with the Nexus branding on the back. Could this be the unannounced Google Nexus 5? Also, if the logo is inspected at close, it looks to be made by LG. Unless our eyes fool us, this might actually be the upcoming Nexus 5 phone from Google, made by LG.
If you look closely at the image above, it looks a lot like the Nexus 7 2013. Especially with a familiar horizontal Nexus branding and a soft touch rubbery back, at least from the looks of it. The device also looks a bit large when in the employee's hands, which indicates that the next Nexus will breach the 5 inch display category. The camera sensor also looks bigger, pointing to a larger 13 Megapixel sensor perhaps?
The Nexus 4 price drop was a big indicator of Google prepping for the next Nexus and to know that it's already in testing is a good thing. The Nexus 5 should be available ...

It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel font-facing camera. This would compete with the iBall Andi 4.7G Cobalt since both have similar features.

The device looks very much like an egg but with a vent at the top and a flat base. The top of the device is quite odd and there is a vent that lets the sound out from the speakers. There is a microphone exactly near the line and things get interesting in the lower part. There is a call receive/cut button right below the mic. FoneArena is live in Berlin , Germany for IFA which is one of the largest technology shows of the world. Sony is holding a press conference later today where the company is expected to announce the much rumored Honami / XPERIA Z1 smartphone and a couple of very interesting lenses. Much is already known about the Sony Z1 and it is said to pack in a Snapdragon 800 processor with a very interesting 20MP camera. The design is believed to be a play on that of the Xperia Z and Z Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition was launched with much anticipation, as to how it will work and how the updates will roll out. While the immediate roll out of 4.3 inspired confidence there was always a worry that buying the S4 Google Play Edition will strip out all the important features of TouchWiz. While that still stands true, we found that one neat feature of the TouchWiz enabled S4 still works for the Google Play Edition, and that is the S4 View Cover functionality. We snapped the S4's S-View Cover on to the S4 GPE and shot a quick demo of it for you -

Asus had introduced the original Fonepad at MWC 2013 earlier this year and the Fonepad saw a slight bump in the specifications sometime during summer. Asus just posted and removed a video ad for the yet another refresh of the Fonepad.
The new Fonepad 7 will be powered by Intel's processor and will run on Android Jellybean at launch. The video seemed more like a walkthrough of the product than an Ad. As per the new ad, the only new features in the refreshed Fonepad include a front facing dual speakers and an upgrade in the rear camera from 3.2MP to 5MP. The device is expected to be announced at Asus' IFA event. The video had no details regarding the pricing or availability of the device, but we would expect that information to come out during the event.

Micromax Canvas Ego A113, a new smartphone from the Canvas series is now available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a 4.7-inch display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing camera. Micromax launched the Micromax A110Q Canvas 2 Plus recently, and this one lies between the A110Q and the A116 Canvas HD. The display resolution is not clear, but it would probably be WVGA or FWVGA resolution. The front-facing camera resolution is also not mentioned, looking at the large sensor, it might be a 2-megapixel camera.

Back in July, at Google I/O, Sundar Pichai announced that the total number of Android activations had surpasses 900 million. Ever since that announcement, the whole of Tech industry has been expecting when the Android activations will hit the magical billion. Yesterday, Sundar Pichai, via his post in Google+ announced that Android has surpassed 1 billion activations so far.
Last year, in September, Google announced that the total number of Android activations had surpassed 500 million with 1.3 million activations per day. This year, the number has doubled and the number of activations per day has rose from 1.3 million to 1.5 million.
Essentially, there are a billion Android devices out there in the world and the rate is increasing rapidly at 1.5 million activations per day. Last month's Android distribution break down revealed that more than 40% of Android devices are on Jelly Bean, 2.6% increase from 37.9% in July. Google is yet to release the distribution chart for last month.

EVLeaks, the guy known for most leaks these days has revealed yet another interesting bit of information today, pertaining to the future of Windows Phone. On the day of the huge Microsoft-Nokia announcement, this leak comes as something to look forward to, but then after taking a single glance at it will be quite the opposite of a reaction. Yes, what you see above in the leaked image is an indirect confirmation of the existence of Nokia Lumia 1520 codenamed "bandit" and a quick look at the cluttered look of the Windows Phone GDR3's 1080p supported start screen.
At first glance, you can notice that the cluttered start screen has an extra column of medium sized tiles that occupy the screen. The screen comes at a resolution of 1920x1080 which confirms the fact that Windows Phone GDR3 exists and is in the works, and also tells us that it might not be easy on the eyes. There is an overload of information on that screen in our opinion, but that's quite subjective we agree.

BlackBerry announced that they would release the BlackBerry Messenger for iOS and Android devices, back in May. First images of the BlackBerry Messenger for Android surfaced in leaked images last month. Now the first video demo of the BlackBerry Messenger for Android has surfaced online, that shows off most of the features of the app.
The UI is exactly similar to the BlackBerry Messenger on BlackBerry 10 including a slide-out menu with Chat, Contacts, Groups, Updates and Invites. You can slide from the right to go to settings, group chat, report a problem, Help and more. You can start a chat by tapping their display picture in the contacts. It also has NFC support that lets you beam a contact to other Android device easily. It also supports emoticons, attach an image or a voice note to messages.
The website that leaked the video says that the app runs well so far BlackBerry plans to release it very soon. Hope we can see the app later this month as planned. Check out the demo video below.

We recently got the black coloured camera grip from the US, as you saw above in the video. On the back of the box you can see that the case comes in three colours, the same ones as the Lumia 1020 colour variants. While we have the yellow one, we still were only able to get the black camera grip.

Apple has finally decided to make the yearly "new iPhone" day official. September 10th is the date, so mark your calendars if you haven't already, because it's been a while since Apple reporters predicted the exact launch date of the new Apple iPhone(s). It has a has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capactive multi-touch display, powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), similar to the recently launched XTRON+. Apple announced an event on September 10th few hours back. Now a new video from uploaded by Unbox Therapy shows an iPad shell or digitizer along with the rear casing compared with the iPad 4. The video claims that these are the parts of the 5th-generation iPad. According to the video, the new iPad would be narrower by 15mm and have a slim side bezel similar to the iPad mini. The edges are rounded, different from tapered design of the fourth-gen iPad.
The bezel width is uniform on all four sides and the rear aluminum shell has also been redesigned. The video also reveals a dual loudspeaker ports that suggests that the next-gen iPad would probably adopt the iPad mini's stereo design.We can't confirm anything with the video that just shows off the internals. Having announced the Google KitKat partnership for the next version of Android, the company released a video showing a celebratory installation of the new mascot in GooglePlex. This video might have looked normal at first, but keen eyes spotted a weird new device with the Nexus branding on the back. Could this be the unannounced Google Nexus 5? Also, if the logo is inspected at close, it looks to be made by LG. Unless our eyes fool us, this might actually be the upcoming Nexus 5 phone from Google, made by LG.
If you look closely at the image above, it looks a lot like the Nexus 7 2013. Especially with a familiar horizontal Nexus branding and a soft touch rubbery back, at least from the looks of it. The device also looks a bit large when in the employee's hands, which indicates that the next Nexus will breach the 5 inch display category. The camera sensor also looks bigger, pointing to a larger 13 Megapixel sensor perhaps?

It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel font-facing camera. This would compete with the iBall Andi 4.7G Cobalt since both have similar features.

The device looks very much like an egg but with a vent at the top and a flat base. The top of the device is quite odd and there is a vent that lets the sound out from the speakers. There is a nice line running along the center of the sphere dividing the device into a couple of hemispheres. The top has the Sony branding along with the speaker above which we have NFC. There is a microphone exactly near the line and things get interesting in the lower part. There is a call receive/cut button right below the mic. FoneArena is live in Berlin , Germany for IFA which is one of the largest technology shows of the world. Sony is holding a press conference later today where the company is expected to announce the much rumored Honami / XPERIA Z1 smartphone and a couple of very interesting lenses. Much is already known about the Sony Z1 and it is said to pack in a Snapdragon 800 processor with a very interesting 20MP camera. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition was launched with much anticipation, as to how it will work and how the updates will roll out. While the immediate roll out of 4.3 inspired confidence there was always a worry that buying the S4 Google Play Edition will strip out all the important features of TouchWiz. While that still stands true, we found that one neat feature of the TouchWiz enabled S4 still works for the Google Play Edition, and that is the S4 View Cover functionality. Asus had introduced the original Fonepad at MWC 2013 earlier this year and the Fonepad saw a slight bump in the specifications sometime during summer. Asus just posted and removed a video ad for the yet another refresh of the Fonepad.
The new Fonepad 7 will be powered by Intel's processor and will run on Android Jellybean at launch. The video seemed more like a walkthrough of the product than an Ad. As per the new ad, the only new features in the refreshed Fonepad include a front facing dual speakers and an upgrade in the rear camera from 3.2MP to 5MP. The device is expected to be announced at Asus' IFA event. The video had no details regarding the pricing or availability of the device, but we would expect that information to come out during the event.

Micromax Canvas Ego A113, a new smartphone from the Canvas series is now available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a 4.7-inch display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing camera. Micromax launched the Micromax A110Q Canvas 2 Plus recently, and this one lies between the A110Q and the A116 Canvas HD. The display resolution is not clear, but it would probably be WVGA or FWVGA resolution. The front-facing camera resolution is also not mentioned, looking at the large sensor, it might be a 2-megapixel camera.

Back in July, at Google I/O, Sundar Pichai announced that the total number of Android activations had surpasses 900 million. Ever since that announcement, the whole of Tech industry has been expecting when the Android activations will hit the magical billion. Yesterday, Sundar Pichai, via his post in Google+ announced that Android has surpassed 1 billion activations so far.
Last year, in September, Google announced that the total number of Android activations had surpassed 500 million with 1.3 million activations per day. This year, the number has doubled and the number of activations per day has rose from 1.3 million to 1.5 million.
Essentially, there are a billion Android devices out there in the world and the rate is increasing rapidly at 1.5 million activations per day. Last month's Android distribution break down revealed that more than 40% of Android devices are on Jelly Bean, 2.6% increase from 37.9% in July. Google is yet to release the distribution chart for last month.
