Panasonic today launched P85 NXT, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘P Series’, a year after the launch of P85. It has the same 5-inch HD display, 4000mAh battery and comes with 4G VoLTE support, but this runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat). Micromax has launched two new Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphones - Bharat 4 Diwali Edition and Bharat 5 Infinity Edition. Both these come with flash support for both the front and rear cameras and 5-inch screen, however the Bharat 5 Infinity Edition comes with a 18:9 aspect ratio display, fingerprint sensor on the back and packs a huge 5000mAh battery so that you can charge other devices easily. The company did not reveal display resolution or the SoC of the phones.

Apple has introduced an all-new MacBook Air as expected. The latest 2018 edition MacBook Air sports a 13.3-inch Retina display and for the first time, it also comes with Touch ID that is supported with the T2 security chipset. Apple has refreshed the Mac Mini with an aim to increase in performance. It now comes with Quad-Core and 6-core processors, up to 64GB of faster memory. The company promises up to five times faster performance and features with Thunderbolt 3 ports.
The new Mac Mini features Apple T2 Security Chip and a 10Gb Ethernet option. It is powered by Quad-Core and 6-core 8th-generation Intel Core processors with Turbo Boost Speeds up to 4.6GHz and Intel UHD graphics, Mac. It comes with up to 64GB 2666 MHz memory and up to 2TB SSD.
It comes with four Thunderbolt 3 ports and can connect to high-speed storage, 4K, and 5K Thunderbolt displays. The Apple Mac mini also features an HDMI 2.0 port, two USB-A ports, an audio jack, and Gigabit Ethernet. It comes in a new Space grey finish.

It was introduced at an event in New York yesterday, and packs a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with a tiny notch that also houses three-in-one ambient/distance/RGB sensor and front-facing camera. It has about 86% screen-to-body ratio and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

Apple just announced new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models at its New York event. These have all-screen design with Liquid Retina True Tone displays with refresh rate up to 120Hz and integrates Face ID replacing the home button and Touch ID. These have new A12X Bionic 7nm chip with next-generation Neural Engine, seven-core, Apple-designed GPU. The second-generation Apple Pencil magnetically attaches to iPad Pro and wirelessly charges at the same time. "A new touch sensor built onto Apple Pencil detects taps, introducing an entirely new way to interact within apps," said Apple.
For the first time Apple has replaced the Lightning connect with USB-C connector that offers power for charging, supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 for high-bandwidth data transfers up to twice the speed to and from cameras and musical instruments, and drives external displays up to 5K. You can also use the USB-C on the iPad Pro to charge an iPhone. It promises up to 10-hour battery life.

Android Pie is yet to make it to Android distribution chart, OEMs have slowly started rolling out Android 9.0 Pie for their flagship devices. Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched POCO F1 running on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with a skin on top, called MIUI For POCO. At the event, the company promised to roll out Android 9.0 Pie in Q4. Today, it has started rolling out MIUI Global Beta 10.8.30 based on Android 9.0 Pie to closed MIUI Beta testers.

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Lenovo have announced both the companies have signed a two-year patent license agreement. The agreement provides Lenovo with a license to use SIE’s patented PlayStation VR (PS VR) industrial design for the Lenovo Mirage Solo virtual reality headset.
Under this agreement, Lenovo can use Sony’s design for its Mirage Solo headset. Lenovo's vice president of Lenovo Consumer Tablets and Smart Devices Product and Business Management, Yao Li said that both the companies are working together to enhance the design sophistication and appeal of the rapidly expanding VR field. However, the exact terms of the agreement have not been revealed.

Earlier this month LG has introduced the LG V40 ThinQ flagship with triple rear-cameras that are arranged horizontally. However, the company might be working on a new design for the camera setup. The patents for the same are published by the USPTO United States Patent and Trademark Office on October 23, 2018.
This patent hints at three smartphone designs with a triple rear camera setup on the back. This camera setup is, however, significantly different from that of the V40 ThinQ. The Model A shows a design with narrow screen edges and a fingerprint scanner on the back, as well as three cameras and a flash. The cameras and flash are placed in a square setup, similar to the Huawei Mate 20 series.
While the Model B design is almost identical to the model A, the display corners are significantly more rounded. Model C has a considerably rounder housing. As the radius of the display roundings become larger, the screen edges on the sides seem to decrease slightly. It is also possible that LG might opt Huawei's square camera setup, but it is difficult to predict the future. It is also not clear if the design is intended for flagship or will find its way to Q-series.

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q3 2018, in which the company has made all-time high operating profit of 17.57 trillion won ($15.45 billion), up 20.9% YoY, as expected, for the July-September 2018 period. This due to strong sales of memory products and OLED panels. It reported revenue of 65.46 trillion won, up 5.49 from 62.05 trillion won last year.

Mobile projectors are an interesting category of products that can be useful to business men on the go as well as people who might want to throw up a larger screen at impromptu gatherings to view photos or play casual games. Sony's been making these for a number of years now, and they recently launched the latest model in the series. Sony sent us over the all new MP-CD1 in for review and here's what we think about it.
Hardware
Sony is positioning the MP-CD1 as something that would appeal to business travelers and that really shows in the design of the hardware and packaging. The entire design is simple with clean lines and a staid, almost boring, black and chocolate brown metal finish. The projector is about the size of a really large smartphone and ships with a very nice leather case. The case looks quite sturdy and should suffice to prevent scratches and scuffs with the projector in your travel bag.
