LG Uni8 Running Windows Phone 8.1 Leaked

$

If today's leak is to be believed, LG might be getting ready to re-enter the Windows Phone device market with it's new device dubbed the LG Uni8. The first smartphone from LG running Microsoft's mobile operating system since their effort on WP7, the LG Uni8 seems to be using capacitive buttons. This lines up with the theory that certain hardware requirements were lifted from the chassis spec to allow OEMs to easily port Windows Phone 8.1 to existing hardware. OEMs have been slow to take up Redmond's mobile OS due to Microsoft's close relationship with Nokia. This was expected to be further strained with the acquisition of the Finnish smartphone manufacturer. It remains to be seen if Microsoft will be able to convince its partners considering that non Lumia WP devices are spread apart far and few. Sales of Windows Phone devices have been slow to pick up with the platform acquiring an estimated 3 percent market share in the last quarter. Specifications of the LG Uni8 are not known at the moment but following the chassis spec requirements, we would expect it to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor and have a full HD display. Moments after launching the Motorola Moto E in India, stirring up the mobile market once again is the launch of the newly updated Moto G in the UK, with 4G LTE and a micro SD slot. Two of the biggest complaints regarding the Moto G have been literally decimated with this updated model of an already successful device. This device, launched in the UK, caters to the newly upgraded networks in the country and the addition of expandable storage is just icing on the cake. The Moto G for the Indian market comes without 4G or a micro SD slot, but we certainly feel it could have launched with the latter, as 4G is still in its very early stages here. Priced at US$219 / 149 GBP, it is a bit costlier than before, but is still well within the budget of many, especially with LTE. In addition to the 4G LTE and micro SD card features on the inside, the outside also gets a small update, or rather, an addition, in colour. It now comes in White, instead of just Black, but of course, the replaceable back covers and everything else that Moto G is known for, remains the same. Here ...
