LG has unveiled the LG G3 Cat.6 (Category 6), a variant of the LG G3 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC and support for faster LTE-A up to 225 Mbps with Qualcomm Gobi 9x35 LTE Advanced Cat 6 Modem. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5 broadband LTE-A with a similar processor, LTE-A support and 5.1-inch (2560 x1440 pixels) Quad HD Super AMOLED display in Korea last month.
Other features are similar to the global variant of the G3, including a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, Android 4.4.2 (KitKat), 13-megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED flashes, new Laser AF, 4K video recording and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.

Sony introduced the Wireless Charging Cover WCR12 and Wireless Charging Plate WCH10 for the Xperia Z2 back in May. Today online retailer Clove that started taking pre-orders for the WCR12 Wireless Charging Cover soon after the announcement, said that Sony has confirmed them that product will not be coming to market, despite earlier confirmations.
Sony has not given the exact reason for pulling the product before the release. The product page for the wireless charging cover on Clove simply says that the product will not be coming into stock and a replacement is not available. Those who have pre-ordered the case from Clove should have received an email with further instructions regarding the order.
Sony has also pulled all the details about the WCR12 Wireless Charging Cover from their website and the their developer website. Sony is still selling the Wireless Charging Plate WCH10 that was introduced with the charging cover. Will the Xperia Z3 come with built-in wireless charging capabilities? Only time will tell.
Apple has asked it suppliers to manufacture between 70 million and 80 million of iPhones by the end of the year, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. This company is expected to launch two iPhones this year in 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch screen and the above figure will be a combination of these two variants.
If reports are to be believed this will be Apple's largest order to date and a major jump from last year, where it ordered between 50 and 60 million iPhone 5s and 5c models. According to The Wall Street Journal’s sources, production of the 4.7-inch model will begin at Foxconn and Pegatron next month and that of the 5.5-inch model will be carried out exclusively at Foxconn beginning in September.

Last week there were rumors that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might come with a retina scanner. Now, a new report from Korean publication ET News is stating that the Galaxy Note 4 will sport a flexible display and have a metal build. It also states that the phone will boast of a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS).
The fourth generation of the Galaxy Note series might also be available in a plastic variant along with a metal one. It is also reportedly experimenting with various material choices, including stainless steel, aluminum, magnesium. In case of a flexible display it is not clear what screen size has Samsung settled this time for the Note 4. However, the ET News report touts that the company has increase the production of flexible display by 50%.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to have 5.7 inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It will apparently come with a new 64-bit Samsung Exynos 5433 processor, there is also rumored to be another version with a quad core Snapdragon 805 processor. Xiaomi launched the Mi3 smartphone in India for Rs. 13,999 last week. It went on sale for priority customers and Flipkart first customers yesterday. Today it went on sale for everyone those who have registered till yesterday, 21st July. Xiaomi India already announced that only limited stocks would be available and over 100,000 people have registered for today’s sale. Few minutes back it tweeted that all the units of Mi3 has been sold out in 38 minutes and 50 seconds.
Most of the users were unable to buy the smartphone due to high traffic. We are working hand in hand with Flipkart to improve the buying experience, said the company. It has already started taking registration for the next Mi3 sale till 28th July and the sale begins 29th July 12PM. Remember, only limited stocks would be available even next week.

Google has launched Google Maps in Hindi, in a bid to make them more accessible to users across the globe especially India. Available on Android and desktop, Google Maps will now show names of the cities, localities, important roads along with popular points and important places in Hindi.
In order to view Hindi name labels on Google Maps, users need to enable Hindi as their preferred language on their device. Users on Android simply need to select the Hindi option within the “Language and input” menu found in their phone’s ‘settings menu’. In case of a desktop they can change the language preference to Hindi on their Google account settings or by selecting the “Hindi” option at the bottom of the page on the google.co.in home page.

At the Mi 4 launch, Xiaomi unveiled the Mi Band, the company's first fitness band as expected. This just has three LED notification lights and connects to your Android smartphones running Android via Bluetooth 4.0 low energy (BLE). It can a set of sensors that monitors your fitness and tracks your sleep. The data can be share to social networks easily with the companion app that would also offer you health advice. It has aluminum surface and skin-friendly wristband.
It has IP67 ratings for water resistance. In addition to LED notification for calls and messages, it can also vibrate. This is useful for waking you up in the morning without disturbing others. Once paired to your smartphone (Mi3 and Mi4 currently), it can be used to unlock the smartphone when the band is within proximity. This feature would be available for other Mi smartphones with Android 4.4 update. It has 41 mAh battery that promises up to 30 days of standby.
The Xiaomi Mi Band comes in a range of colors and is priced at just 79 Chinese Yuan (US$ 12.73 / Rs. 770 approx.).
Lenovo has launched S850, a new smartphone is the S Series in India. It was unveiled at MWC earlier this year and packs a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Lenovo’s custom UI on top. One of the major uncertainties regarding the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 3 (our review) smartphone was whether the phone was protected by Gorilla Glass or not. This has been a confusion ever since the company launched its India specific page, but thankfully, @MiIndiaOfficial, the official Twitter account of the company has clarified that all the Mi 3s in India have Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the screen. The clarification puts an end to all the speculation that surrounded the screen's protective capabilities, as Gorilla Glass has been known to be very tough, since its inception.

Google has started rolling out Material Design UI to Play Store. The version 4.9.13. of the Google Play Store on Android now gets Material Design inspired overhaul which gives app, game, and other listings a revamp. The update comes a week after screenshots of the Play Store redesign were leaked.
The makeover does not stand out evidently but once when you dig deep, changes about the overall look are noticed. The biggest change in the app and content pages would see users enjoy new animations, cover photos and videos which will be featured in a more prominent manner at the top. Other changes include the ability to view app descriptions and change logs in a full screen mode.
The new Play Store has more white space and larger header images as compared to the current Play Store. Google has moved the share and Google+ buttons down beneath the reviews section. These images are mostly in the background and are similar to album art images. Also, more focus has been added on bringing the content forefront.
Google said that the new design is already rolling out to devices but might take some time for a complete rollout.
Apple has reported revenue of $37.4 billion with a net profit of $7.7 billion in their earnings for Q3 2014 that ended June 28, 2014. The international sales in this quarter is 59% of the quarter’s revenue. They sold 35.2 million iPhones, 15.3 million iPads, 4.41 million Macs and 2.93 million Macs during the quarter. Brazil, Russia, India and China saw strong iPhone sales, up 55% year-over-year, said Apple CEO Tim Cook during the conference call.

HTC has been working on a smartwatch for some time and now and is expected to announce it soon according to few reports. Today, it looks like the company has accidentally leaked their upcoming smartwatch in a video.
The 35 second video which talks about the company's design department shows a the first look of the smartwatch. Running on Android Wear, the smartwatch is expected to be available in square and round shape. However, the one in the video is square and sits on a dock which might be just for a display. Another shot shows the same employee working on what looks like a square smartwatch display on his computer.

Xolo launched the Win Q990s, it's first Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone last month as the lightness Windows Phone 8 smartphone. Today the company has unveiled the Android variant of the smartphone called Q900s. It has a 4.7-inch qHD display instead of 4.7-inch HD display on the Win Q900s and this runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) that is upgradable to Android 4.4 (KitKat). HTC has made their own keyboard available on the Google Play Store today. The HTC Sense Input is the default keyboard on all HTC devices.
This is the keyboard from the latest version of Sense, compatible with the HTC One M8, M7, and the newest Desire devices. At present it is only compatible with aforementioned HTC devices. The launch also brings few updates to the keyboard like support Google extract view in landscape mode, enable handwriting manual submit mode. In addition it allows to add the prompt when adding none word into personal dictionary and more.
Last year Google released stock Android Keyboard on Google Play Store while Sony launched Xperia Keyboard this April. HTC device owners can now get the the latest updates for the Sense keyboard from the Play Store.
