Halo has been a celebrated game franchise that was popularized during the original Xbox era. People had longed for a similar gaming experience on other Microsoft devices as the company slowly brought their different divisions together, and to much surprise, Microsoft's own 343 game studio announced Halo: Spartan Assault for Windows 8 and Windows Phone. A trailer that was revealed along with the announcement showed off a much different type of gameplay, based in the Halo universe. And today, it has landed on the Windows Phone store at $6.99, and for the same amount, you can grab it for Windows 8 here, while watching the trailer below - httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxsYQtltOco With a story set to happen in between the story lines of Halo 3 and Halo 4, it promises to bridge a gap and introduce new characters and parallel story lines along the way. In that case, it should really make religious Halo fans happy.  Unlike all the other Halo games(except for halo Wars) this is a top down shooter that is much easier to play on a touch screen rather than on a controller based environment. As the Halo Waypoint blog puts it - This new chapter lets you experience the first missions ...

If you remember the first teaser of the Moto X, a picture with two people jumping into the water, it boasted of two things - "Designed by you. Assembled in the USA.". While the terms designed by you is still open for interpretation, Motorola has practically sealed the case for the next one by posting a tweet with a picture of the Moto X being manufactured at a Motorola plant in the USA. Yep. This guy is building exactly what you think he is. Designed by you. Assembled in the USA. pic.twitter.com/U9fhJRDmmM — Motorola Mobility (@Motorola) July 18, 2013 Motorola, being a Google company now, is following its parent's tradition of assembling new devices in the US, that primarily started with Google manufacturing its home media solution - the Nexus Q in the country. In this way, Google hopes to inspire some patriotism for its products, noting the fact that Americans are highly patriotic. But the manufacturing here largely denotes assembling of all the imported components, that are separately manufactured by various component suppliers. The suppliers are unmistakeably based in China and around the world, but the point is clear, Google and Motorola want to inspire the tech community that is largely dependent on ...

With the rapid proliferation of budget Android devices, everybody is trying to get a slice of the pie. Not to be left behind, Videocon too has launched its latest product called the A55HD. Can the erstwhile leader of consumer electronics in India make a dent in the smartphone segment with the A55HD ? Read on to find out our impressions of the smartphone.  Design Clad in a glossy plastic material, the Videocon A55HD is a fingerprint magnet. The handset appears like a black slab with the only visible element being the chrome earpiece grille on top and the front facing camera next to it. Tapping the power button activates the display that otherwise remains almost invisible.   The piano black finish of the product is broken by the chrome strips with mesh like patterns running on the side of the phone. The left side of the phone has the volume rocker while the right side does not sport any buttons. Unfortunately Videocon has opted to place the power key on the top of the handset which makes it a stretch to reach. We'd have definitely preferred to see the power button placed on the side of the phone. Next to the power button lies the ...

The leaker @evleaks in back again with a press shot of the upcoming redesigned Google Nexus 7 made by Asus. The new Nexus 7 looks a lot thinner from the image but it is very hard to tell from the angle. You can see the front with the display with the onscreen buttons like on the current Nexus 7. On the rear you can see a relatively larger camera along with the Nexus branding. This is not the first time we are hearing about this product and it was leaked a lot in recent times. You can also spot a notification light below the display. The front facing camera is placed to the right of the screen. There seems to be dual loud speakers on the back (1 on top , 1 beside the microUSB port at the bottom) And looks like a SIM card slot on the rear left and may be Google will announce a 3G and hopefully LTE capable Nexus 7 at launch unlike a WiFi only version like it did last year. And lastly there is the Asus logo at the bottom center. We can spot the 3.5mm audio jack on the top as well. The left also has ...

Apple reportedly testing a 13-inch iPad and a larger iPhone

Apple is testing a new iPad with a larger display that is slightly less than 13 inches and a iPhone with a screen larger than 4-inches diagonally, according to a recent report from the Wall Street Journal. There were rumors about a 12.9-inch iPad and a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhones. Apple has stuck with 9.7‑inch display since the first iPad. The 3rd generation iPad featured a 2048 by 1536 resolution retina display, but the size remained the same. Since the iPhone 5 had a 4-inch display that differs from the previous-gen iPhones, there are chances that Apple might introduce an iPad with a larger screen than the current ones. Apple introduced the iPad mini with a 7.9-inch display last year. Not sure if the large screen iPad would be called  iPad Maxi according to earlier rumors. Since Apple tests several prototypes before their release, it is not clear whether we would see a 13-inch iPad. WSJ also reports that suppliers are preparing to ramp up production of a new iPad later this month and the new version is expected to be 9.7-inch screen with same retina display, but with a lighter and thinner display that integrates touch sensors with a thin film instead of glass. The new iPhone is expected ...

Is Nokia launching the 4.7 inch Lumia 625 tomorrow?

Nokia has just teased in their official Conversations blog that "something BIG" is coming tomorrow. The blog usually teases phones ahead of launch with clear cut titles, like "Zoom in" for the Lumia 1020, "Steel yourself for the next instalment" for the Lumia 925, and similarly, we think that "Something BIG" is meant for the first 4.7 inch Nokia - the Lumia 625. In a very quick tease they have said that they are launching the Lumia 625 tomorrow at 9 A.M UK time, which is 02:30 P.M IST tomorrow for us. Will there be details we actually don't know about, yet? We'll see, but there was a specific leak earlier that leads us to believe that it is indeed the Lumia 625. The above picture recently passed through the Chinese certification center for mobile phones and we believe that it is genuine. As you can notice above, the device sports a large screen, even larger that the Lumia 920's 4.5 inch screen and a surprisingly short bezel on the sides. This is supposedly a 800x480 WVGA screen, which in this day and age, is pretty low end. “4.7-inch WVGA, big gray screen without CBD length and width Lumia 920 approaching, 130mm ...

Earlier today evleaks leaked the press shots of the New Google Nexus 7. Now Android Police has leaked the press images of the tablet that shows off a new wallpaper. This might be the default wallpaper in the Android 4.3 says the website. Unlike the first Nexus 7 tablet, this has a LED notification light and a rear camera. It would also feature a SlimPort similar to the Nexus 4, but it lacks the pogo pins for the docking station that was present in last year's Nexus 7. Looking at the leaked press shots, this tablet is also expected to come with a matte finish similar to the first Nexus 7. According to earlier leaks the new Nexus 7 is expected to come with a 7-inch full HD display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor and run on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It would feature a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.2MP front-facing camera and comes with 16/32GB internal memory. No details about the RAM or whether we would see a LTE-variant of the device yet, but earlier rumored suggested a LTE variant. Looks like we have to wait a couple of days  official announcement to find out. According to the rumors the Wi-Fi variant would be ...

We just saw Nokia tease the Lumia 625 yesterday. While we were pretty sure it was the Lumia 625 that is going to be announced today, some others thought it might be a tablet, but as a tradition these days, the full specifications and colourful press images of the Lumia 625 have leaked out on to the internet, just ahead of launch, confirming our suspicions about the device. The usual Data Sheet that is given to journalists with the press kit has leaked out from Finland's own Puhelinvertailu and it tells us a lot more than what we already know. Read past the break to find the full specifications of the Lumia 625. As you can see from the above image, the Lumia 625 was what Nokia teased yesterday, the bright orange colour being the indicator. The specifications largely remain the same as the Lumia 620 except for some key differences, lets go through them. The design has slightly changed, with obvious increase in screen real estate and the inclusion of 2.25D curved Corning Gorilla glass 2. The shell however is dual shot, just like the Lumia 620, with an opaque inner layer and a transparent outer layer. The device also ...
