HTC's new Rapid Charger 2.0 has been listed on the company's official website. The new Rapid Charger 2.0 cuts charging times by up to 40% for certain handsets.
The device which is only listed on HTC's website and does not have a "Buy Now" or "Add to Cart" button. It uses Qualcomm’s new Quick Charge 2.0 technology, and it’s compatible with almost any smartphone or tablet. According to HTC, the Rapid Charger 2.0 will be able to boost a smartphone’s battery by another 8 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.
The HTC Rapid Charger 2.0 is compatible with any microUSB-based phone, however only a couple of phones are listed on the website that can take advantage of this accessory. HTC One (M8), HTC One (E8), HTC One remix and HTC Desire Eye will be compatible with the Rapid Charger 2.0.
The Rapid Charger 2.0 will be similar to Motorola's Turbo Charger which is priced at $34.99. However, there is no word on pricing and availability of the device.

Google is working on a new feature that will allow Android and iOS devices to share content and communicate when nearby. The cross platform feature is codenamed as Copresence.
The new feature which has been spotted by Android Police will make its easier for Android users to share content like messages, contacts, and photos to iPhone and iPad users and vice versa. It will most likely use Bluetooth and/or WiFi to actually communicate or transfer files, but there will be an element of location-based data, perhaps for determining devices that are nearby and available for sharing.
A tipster had shared the code of the feature that was added to Google Play Services APK along with a number of images. Moreover, further reports from recent developer documentation for a Copresence Chrome API, patents, and internal issue reports for the API show that reference the service.
It looks like the the Copresence is a modified version of Google's Nearby feature. Similarly, Apple's AirDrop feature also allows iOS users to share content with device that are close to each other. The report claims the service could arrive in “the coming weeks.”

Samsung is claiming that Microsoft has violated the deal between the two after it completed the Nokia acquisition earlier this year, as per the latest report from Reuters. The South Korean electronic giant is hence defending its action of not paying the royalties to Microsoft as the Nokia deal makes the software giant a direct hardware competitor.
Samsung also claimed that paying the royalties would have further caused antitrust problems. In August this year, Microsoft filed a patent lawsuit against Samsung claiming that the company has stopped making royalty payments on time last fall and is refusing to pay interest for the delay. The software giant then claimed in October that Samsung owes it $6.9 million in unpaid interest.
Samsung said it agreed to pay Microsoft Android patent license royalties in 2011, but the deal also stated that Samsung would develop Windows phones and share confidential business information with Microsoft. If Samsung were to sell a certain number of Windows phones, then Microsoft would reduce the Android royalty payments, added the Reuters report.
Moreover, the company has not only asked the court to dismiss Microsoft's claims but also to compensate Samsung's damages for "Microsoft's breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing" after the Nokia acquisition. Meanwhile, Microsoft ...

One benefit to having previously worked in the retail industry is that I often receive tips from people who work for major networks in the UK. As I can attest to, some of these tips can be absolute gems as people in retail often overhear things and the latest reveals tip some interesting information about iPhone 6 sales in the UK.

In a conversation I was privy to, a Carphone Warehouse employee stated that the inventory system showed over 20,000 iPhone 6 handsets sitting in the company's central warehouse with replenishment of stocks quick and swift. He went on to explain that the company "hedged their bets" on Apple's latest releases and whilst the iPhone 6 Plus has sold swiftly, customers just aren't as interested in the iPhone 6.
Looking at the Carphone Warehouse iPhone 6 page, it's clear that the launch story of limited stocks is a thing of the past. Not only does the company have ample stocks available both online and in-store, on selected plans, they are cheaper than the same deal on the respective network. HTC announced last month that One (M8) and One (M7) will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update “within 90 days of receiving final software”. Last week, leaked screenshots of the device showed the Android 5.0 update with a layer of Sense 7 UI over it.
However, now a leak from @upleaks is stating that the HTC One (M7) update will infact not come with the Sense 7 UI and instead come with the current Sense 6 UI. The reason for the delay is reportedly because HTC has not started to port Sense 7 to the HTC One M8 currently. It is not sure exactly whether the company will roll out the Android 5.0 update with Sense 6 UI or Sense 7 UI.
The HTC One (M7) and (M8) remain the first in line for the update. Google Play Edition versions of the handsets will receive an update in late November-December, as expected, and Sense based versions will see an update in January-February, as per a recent report.

Google today launched Indian Language Internet Alliance (ILIA), a group formed to promote growth of Indic-language content online, at an event in India. Google hopes to enable 300 million Indian language speakers to become highly engaged Internet users by 2017. Google rolled out Hindi language Voice Search in India few months back, today it launched it in the country officially, and also demoed it at the event. Google Search lets users enable voice search in five languages, out of more than 50 supported languages and dialect.
The ILIA will work together to accelerate building Indian language content for hundreds of millions of Indian who will be coming online for the very first time, mostly via smartphones and mobile devices, said the company. Google is committed to building the Indian language web by making products for Indian language speakers, it said.
Currently there are 200 million internet users in India, and the country's English-speaking population is already online, the remaining 90% Indians who are not online are not English speakers. Back in August OnePlus said that it's looking for an executive who could lead its operations in India. Recently the company has announced that it has appointed Vikas Agarwal as the manger of OnePlus India. Last week the company said that it there will be India-specific invite system to purchase the smartphone once it rolls out in India.
Regarding his new appointment, the new GM, Vikas Agarwal, said,

Last month Google announced the Nexus 6, the company's flagship Nexus smartphone made by Motorola. Soon after the announcement Motorola India revealed that the smartphone would roll in 28 countries, including India starting later this year. The 32GB variant of the smartphone has been listed on Flipkart as Coming Soon, but the pricing is not mentioned.
This hints that it might launch in India soon. Google launched the Nexus 5 smartphone in India on Google Play within weeks after it was announced. The Google Nexus 9 tablet surfaced on Google Play Store in India recently along with the price tag, but it is yet to go on sale in the country.

It looks like Apple is not stopping itself after launching the next generation iPhones and iPads. As per latest rumors, the company's next iPad will sport a 12.2 inch screen and that will compete with Microsoft's Surface tablet.
Likely dubbed as iPad Pro, the tablet will be thinner than the iPhone 6 Plus, as per a latest report from Japanese site Macotakara. According to the report, the larger iPad will include a 12.2-inch display which is smaller to the rumored 12.9-inch for the device. Talking about the design of the iPad the report said that its thickness is expected to be somewhere between an iPhone 6's 6.9 millimeter body and iPhone 6 Plus's 7.1 millimeter body and thicker than the iPad Air 2's 6.1 millimeter frame.
Moving on, the report states that the iPad Pro will have stereo speakers and microphones on both the top and bottom edges for better sound experience. Finally, the report says that it is expected to be announced in early 2015.

Motorola has published the Android 4.4.4 KitKat build Kernel Source Code for Moto X(2014) and Moto(2014), according to Android Police. The initial kernel source code for Motorola Moto X (2014) is codenamed 'Victara', while that of the Moto G (2014) is dubbed 'Titan'.
For those unaware, kernel is a Linux-based baseline software that runs underneath Android, which allows it to interact with mobile phone or tablet hardware. Android uses an open source software that requires manufacturers to publish the source code publicly for everyone to inspect and modify if they want to.
The kernel source code is available through Motorola‘s developer GitHub, completely browsable, and can be downloaded as a single compressed archive. Google released Android 4.4.4 Kernel Source code for these three Android One smartphones in September.

Lenovo India just sent out press invites for the launch of the Vibe X2 on November 6th, the company's latest high-end smartphone in the X series. The Lenovo Vibe X2 was announced at IFA back in September and packs a 5-inch 1080p display, powered by a 2 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6595 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat) with Vibe UI 2.0 on top. It has a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera.
Even though the invite doesn't reveal anything, the three colors clearly says that it's the Vibe X2 since it has a tri-layer design. We went hands-on with the Vibe X2 at the IFA, check out the video.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Broadband LTE-A in Korea. It the same 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display at WQXGA resolution, powered by a Octa-Core Exynos (A15 1.9 GHz + A7 1.3 GHz) processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), but this supports Category 6 LTE Advanced support that would offer download speed of up to 225 Mbps, faster than the Cat.4 LTE that supports download speed only up to 150Mbps.
Samsung introduced the Galaxy S5 broadband LTE-A with Snapdragon 805 SoC and Cat.6 LTE support in Korea back in June.

Couple of weeks back Microsoft officially announced that it would replace the Nokia branding on upcoming Lumia smartphones with Microsoft. Today a smartphone codenamed RM-1090 from Microsoft has surfaced on China's TENAA certification website with Microsoft branding on the front and back of the smartphone, replacing Nokia's branding.
This budget smartphone could be the first Microsoft Lumia Banded device. According to the listing, the smartphone has a 5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display, has a rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support and packs a 1905 mAh battery. The dimensions of the smartphone is 140.2 x 72.45 x 9.32mm. Other specifications of the smartphone are not available yet.
Even though the smartphone has appeared in China, there might also be a global variant of the smartphone. The Nokia branding will also be replaced in the packing and box contents too.

Samsung has added Stamp Cards service to Samsung Wallet that was launched last year. Stamp Cards are loyalty cards that allows a customer either discounts on a current purchase or allots points for future purchases.
The official Samsung Wallet app which is available at 'Samsung Galaxy apps' or 'Google Play Store' supports devices like Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note or Galaxy Note II. Users will need to sign in to their Samsung Wallet in order to start collecting the Stamp Cards. These Stamp Cards are created using an electronic stamp that has five contact points on the bottom. Stamping it on the Samsung Wallet app will automatically create a Stamp Card.
The electronic stamp creates about 200,000 different electronic patterns according to the pattern values. Billions of different electronic stamps can be generated as per the order of the electronic patterns. The stamp patterns can hence be classified and perceived by brand and store.

HTC had first announced last month that One M8 and M7 will receive Android 5.0 update “within 90 days of receiving final software from Google.” Today, the company has revealed that it has received the source code for Lollipop.
HTC One M8 and M7 will be updated to latest version of Android within three months from today. The company announced the news via Twitter thereby making it official. Both the devices will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in February. HTC did not mention Lollipop coming to any other devices, but followed up with a tweet that it will soon update other devices to the latest Android version. The quicker update cycle is part of what the company calls the “HTC Advantage.”
A report last month revealed that other devices like HTC Desire EYE, HTC One Dual Sim, HTC One E8, HTC Butterfly 2 any many other smartphones will receive the Android 5.0 update anytime between January and March. The One Mini 2 and Desire 816 should receive Lollipop sometime in March or April, while the One Max, One Mini, and Butterfly S are slated for the update sometime between March and May.

Gmail for Android has been updated with Material Design and a bunch of new features. The version 5.0 gets a modern design along with more cleaner and colorful UI.
The latest update also adds support for other non-Gmail accounts like Yahoo, Outlook, AOL, etc. Prior to this, the app was restricted to Gmail or Google apps account only. In addition, the update adds a reply button at the bottom of every message, making it quick and easy to continue a conversation. Also, users of Gmail on a tablet will be able to switch between different accounts and different inbox categories.

Android 5.0 Lollipop source code is being uploaded to Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The release comes at the same time when Nexus 9 tablet is available online from Google Play Store.
Currently, Android 5.0 Lollipop is only being referred to as “lollipop-release” with build LRX21M under platform build but once everything is officially updated the name is changed to android-5.0_r1. Google is also in the process of updating the device repositories for its existing devices and creating new ones for the Nexus 6 (shamu), Nexus 9 (flounder) and the Nexus Player (fugu). Another repository named atv, most likely for the ADT-1 running Android TV.
Google’s Glen Kasten has also posted updated build instructions on Google Groups for Lollipop.

HTC announced last month that One (M8) and One (M7) will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update “within 90 days of receiving final software”. Last week, leaked screenshots of the device showed the Android 5.0 update with a layer of Sense 7 UI over it.
However, now a leak from @upleaks is stating that the HTC One (M7) update will infact not come with the Sense 7 UI and instead come with the current Sense 6 UI. The reason for the delay is reportedly because HTC has not started to port Sense 7 to the HTC One M8 currently. It is not sure exactly whether the company will roll out the Android 5.0 update with Sense 6 UI or Sense 7 UI.
The HTC One (M7) and (M8) remain the first in line for the update. Google Play Edition versions of the handsets will receive an update in late November-December, as expected, and Sense based versions will see an update in January-February, as per a recent report.

Google today launched Indian Language Internet Alliance (ILIA), a group formed to promote growth of Indic-language content online, at an event in India. Google hopes to enable 300 million Indian language speakers to become highly engaged Internet users by 2017. Google rolled out Hindi language Voice Search in India few months back, today it launched it in the country officially, and also demoed it at the event. Google Search lets users enable voice search in five languages, out of more than 50 supported languages and dialect.
The ILIA will work together to accelerate building Indian language content for hundreds of millions of Indian who will be coming online for the very first time, mostly via smartphones and mobile devices, said the company. Google is committed to building the Indian language web by making products for Indian language speakers, it said.
Currently there are 200 million internet users in India, and the country's English-speaking population is already online, the remaining 90% Indians who are not online are not English speakers. Last month Google announced the Nexus 6, the company's flagship Nexus smartphone made by Motorola. Soon after the announcement Motorola India revealed that the smartphone would roll in 28 countries, including India starting later this year. The 32GB variant of the smartphone has been listed on Flipkart as Coming Soon, but the pricing is not mentioned.

It looks like Apple is not stopping itself after launching the next generation iPhones and iPads. As per latest rumors, the company's next iPad will sport a 12.2 inch screen and that will compete with Microsoft's Surface tablet.
Likely dubbed as iPad Pro, the tablet will be thinner than the iPhone 6 Plus, as per a latest report from Japanese site Macotakara. According to the report, the larger iPad will include a 12.2-inch display which is smaller to the rumored 12.9-inch for the device. Talking about the design of the iPad the report said that its thickness is expected to be somewhere between an iPhone 6's 6.9 millimeter body and iPhone 6 Plus's 7.1 millimeter body and thicker than the iPad Air 2's 6.1 millimeter frame.
Moving on, the report states that the iPad Pro will have stereo speakers and microphones on both the top and bottom edges for better sound experience. Finally, the report says that it is expected to be announced in early 2015.

Motorola has published the Android 4.4.4 KitKat build Kernel Source Code for Moto X(2014) and Moto(2014), according to Android Police. The initial kernel source code for Motorola Moto X (2014) is codenamed 'Victara', while that of the Moto G (2014) is dubbed 'Titan'.
For those unaware, kernel is a Linux-based baseline software that runs underneath Android, which allows it to interact with mobile phone or tablet hardware. Android uses an open source software that requires manufacturers to publish the source code publicly for everyone to inspect and modify if they want to.
The kernel source code is available through Motorola‘s developer GitHub, completely browsable, and can be downloaded as a single compressed archive. Google released Android 4.4.4 Kernel Source code for these three Android One smartphones in September.

Lenovo India just sent out press invites for the launch of the Vibe X2 on November 6th, the company's latest high-end smartphone in the X series. The Lenovo Vibe X2 was announced at IFA back in September and packs a 5-inch 1080p display, powered by a 2 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6595 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat) with Vibe UI 2.0 on top. It has a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera.
Even though the invite doesn't reveal anything, the three colors clearly says that it's the Vibe X2 since it has a tri-layer design. We went hands-on with the Vibe X2 at the IFA, check out the video.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Broadband LTE-A in Korea. It the same 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display at WQXGA resolution, powered by a Octa-Core Exynos (A15 1.9 GHz + A7 1.3 GHz) processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), but this supports Category 6 LTE Advanced support that would offer download speed of up to 225 Mbps, faster than the Cat.4 LTE that supports download speed only up to 150Mbps.

Couple of weeks back Microsoft officially announced that it would replace the Nokia branding on upcoming Lumia smartphones with Microsoft. Today a smartphone codenamed RM-1090 from Microsoft has surfaced on China's TENAA certification website with Microsoft branding on the front and back of the smartphone, replacing Nokia's branding.
This budget smartphone could be the first Microsoft Lumia Banded device. According to the listing, the smartphone has a 5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display, has a rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support and packs a 1905 mAh battery. The dimensions of the smartphone is 140.2 x 72.45 x 9.32mm. Other specifications of the smartphone are not available yet.

Samsung has added Stamp Cards service to Samsung Wallet that was launched last year. Stamp Cards are loyalty cards that allows a customer either discounts on a current purchase or allots points for future purchases.
The official Samsung Wallet app which is available at 'Samsung Galaxy apps' or 'Google Play Store' supports devices like Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note or Galaxy Note II. Users will need to sign in to their Samsung Wallet in order to start collecting the Stamp Cards. These Stamp Cards are created using an electronic stamp that has five contact points on the bottom. Stamping it on the Samsung Wallet app will automatically create a Stamp Card.
The electronic stamp creates about 200,000 different electronic patterns according to the pattern values. Billions of different electronic stamps can be generated as per the order of the electronic patterns. The stamp patterns can hence be classified and perceived by brand and store.

HTC had first announced last month that One M8 and M7 will receive Android 5.0 update “within 90 days of receiving final software from Google.” Today, the company has revealed that it has received the source code for Lollipop.
HTC One M8 and M7 will be updated to latest version of Android within three months from today. The company announced the news via Twitter thereby making it official. Both the devices will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in February. HTC did not mention Lollipop coming to any other devices, but followed up with a tweet that it will soon update other devices to the latest Android version. The quicker update cycle is part of what the company calls the “HTC Advantage.”
A report last month revealed that other devices like HTC Desire EYE, HTC One Dual Sim, HTC One E8, HTC Butterfly 2 any many other smartphones will receive the Android 5.0 update anytime between January and March. The One Mini 2 and Desire 816 should receive Lollipop sometime in March or April, while the One Max, One Mini, and Butterfly S are slated for the update sometime between March and May.

Gmail for Android has been updated with Material Design and a bunch of new features. The version 5.0 gets a modern design along with more cleaner and colorful UI.
The latest update also adds support for other non-Gmail accounts like Yahoo, Outlook, AOL, etc. Prior to this, the app was restricted to Gmail or Google apps account only. In addition, the update adds a reply button at the bottom of every message, making it quick and easy to continue a conversation. Also, users of Gmail on a tablet will be able to switch between different accounts and different inbox categories.

Android 5.0 Lollipop source code is being uploaded to Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The release comes at the same time when Nexus 9 tablet is available online from Google Play Store.
Currently, Android 5.0 Lollipop is only being referred to as “lollipop-release” with build LRX21M under platform build but once everything is officially updated the name is changed to android-5.0_r1. Google is also in the process of updating the device repositories for its existing devices and creating new ones for the Nexus 6 (shamu), Nexus 9 (flounder) and the Nexus Player (fugu). Another repository named atv, most likely for the ADT-1 running Android TV.
Google’s Glen Kasten has also posted updated build instructions on Google Groups for Lollipop.
