Paid apps reportedly not working on Android Wear smartwatches

Paid Android apps from the Google Play Store are not working properly on Android Wear devices, according to a report from Android Police. Samsung Gear Live and LG G watch that run on Google's Android Wear are facing a bug problem that is preventing these paid apps from being installed on Android Wear devices. At present there are no standalone apps for Android Wear devices hence these apps are installed to the watch from the user’s phone, via Bluetooth. The report claims that the encryption keys that are sent to an Android phone when a paid app is downloaded from Google Play aren't making it over to the smartwatch. Paid Android apps are encrypted, with the encryption key obtained from the Play Store and passed to the phone. Encryption is a way from Google to prevent paid apps from being easily pirated. Google will need to fix the issue at the earliest as it will not be a good news for developers of these paid apps. Last week, Google Play Store got a dedicated Android Wear app section with about 25 apps. Via:Android Police

Blackberry is sending requests to selected number of users to test as the app is in private beta. The app will have a similar user interface as its counterparts from iOS and Android along with some elements from the Microsoft’s mobile OS. Unfortunately no screenshots were provided at the Windows Phone Store to confirm these reports. Xiaomi made its name in the global scene from its home market, China. After a few iterations, the company unveiled Mi3, Xiaomi's latest flagship device, packing top end specifications, but at a very low price unmatched by the competition. Google removes multiple Google Play Edition devices from Play Store

Google has taken down multiple Google Play Edition devices from the Play Store. Devices like Sony Xperia Z Ultra, LG G Pad 8.3 and HTC One (M7) were taken down from the device section of the Play Store. These handsets along with Samsung Galaxy S4 were out of inventory for some time before they were officially taken down today. HTC One M8 and Moto G are still available on the Play Store while the Galaxy S4 is shown as out of inventory and it is expected that it will be taken down soon. While a Google Play edition of the Galaxy S5 has been rumored for quite sometime there has no strong evidence about the handset that has leaked or surfaced online. Generally, phones with a successor are taken down from the store and hence we saw Google take down the HTC One M7 as it has a successor M8. However, it is not clear why Google has taken down Google Play Edition Xperia Z Ultra and LG G Pad 8.3 as these were launched on the Store mere seven months back. Even the Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition got a price cut recently. Does this mean these phones have not garnered enough popularity? Via:Android Police
