In a bid to boost global expansion, Xiaomi is migrating international user data outside of China. Data belonging to the privately owned company's non-Chinese users will be moved in several phases to Amazon Inc servers in the United States and data centres in Singapore.
"This migration process will be completed by the end of October and will benefit users in all of our international markets — Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Taiwan. Users are already experiencing website speed boosts of at least 30% in markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and as much as 200% in India."

Google has introduced Inbox, a new email app that is touted as an alternative and not a replacement to Gmail. Available on Android, iOS and the Web, main aim of the app is to sort and organize emails.
Inbox app has a feature called as Bundles" that groups emails by category this means that all emails related to one topic like bank details, fllights etc are neatly grouped together so that you can quickly review and then dismiss by swiping away. Moving on, the app includes “Highlights,” which makes it easier to find important emails. Another feature on the App is "Assists" that integrates real-time updates from the Web directly into email. If you make a restaurant reservation online, Inbox adds a map to your confirmation email and if you book a flight online, it gives a link to check-in.
Users can create Reminders that will alert them about various tasks and Snooze will let you dismiss both messages and Reminders temporarily. The app is therefore touted as a mixed between Mailbox and Google Now. The service will be available on the Web (Chrome only), iOS 7+ and Android 4.1+. Versions for tablets and other modern browsers are also in the works.

Microsoft has announced the release of two Android apps and one experimental Bing app for Android Wear devices. These apps have been designed by Microsoft employees under the Garage program.
The first app from the Microsoft Garage program is the "Next Lock Screen" app that surfaces information from various apps on the lock screen itself. Aimed at busy professionals, the app brings a feed of calendar appointments, missed calls, emails, SMS and a quick app launcher on the lock screen.

Second app is the "Journeys & Notes" that helps you keeps a log of your travel diaries and records travel movement by writing about important places visited during your trip. These notes then can be shared with other people that are present at the same location. Finally, the last app from the Microsoft Garage is "Torque" which is compatible only for Android Wear devices. The app replaces the need to say "OK Google" to your smartwatch and instead allows you to question by simply lifting your arm and twisting your wrist. It then generates result that is powered by Bing search.

Google has released a major update to Google Earth on Android by enhancing the 3D rendering technology. This is the biggest feature of the latest update that further highlights mountains, cities, rivers in the map.
"Starting today, you’ll see faster, smoother, and crisper transitions as you’re zooming into your dream destination in Google Earth. Thanks to a new 3D rendering technology—the first major 3D overhaul since Earth launched more than 10 years ago—sharper views of mountains and cities are just a virtual skydive away."

In addition, the Google Earth app will now receive basemap updates at the same time as Google Maps. This means that mobile devices will be updated with information like place names, roads, and businesses much faster than before. Finally,the latest update to the new Earth app for Android introduces support for opening KML files for custom maps directly from Google Drive.
The 3D views of top cities alon with a Tour Guide feature to highlight different must-see spots as you travel and optional layers from sources like Wikipedia to add more context are still available for the Earth app.

Xolo launched Q2100, the company’s first Android smartphone with a fingerprint sensor earlier this month. The Swipe Sense is a phablet and sports a 5.5 inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD IPS display. It is 7.8mm thick and weighs 158 grams.The phone has a sturdy build with rounded edges. However, the 5.5 inch screen makes it a bit uncomfortable to handle and it will be too big for people with small hands. The phone is light in weight and encompassed in a plastic body.
At the front, the phone has a 3.2MP front-facing camera along with the proximity and ambient light sensors, earpiece and LED notification light. The front camera is good for selfies and video chats. Sony introduced the SmartWatch 3, the company's first Android Wear-powered smartwatch at the IFA last month. At the announcement Sony just said that it would go on sale later in Autumn 2014 without any price tag. Now the company started taking pre-orders for the smartwatch at Verizon Wireless in the U.S, which would ship by October 30th. It is priced at $249.99 ( Rs. 15,299 approx.). Sony says it would go on Google Play Soon in select countries.

Microsoft finished its deal of acquiring Nokia’s Devices & Services business earlier this year, after it was announced in September 2013. After some reports and some hints, Microsoft has officially announced that the Nokia Lumia brand will be replaced to Microsoft Lumia in coming weeks and months.
In an interview to official Microsoft Conversations blog, Tuula Rytilä, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Phones, Microsoft, said,

Sundar Pichai, who is currently Senior Vice President at Google, overseeing Chrome, Android, and Google Apps will be overseeing research, search, maps, Google+, commerce and ads, in addition to the products he already handles, according to reports from Recode and Reuters. Six executives who previously reported to Larry Page, including the heads of research, social media and search, will now report to Pichai, says Recode.
YouTube is being left with CEO Susan Wojcicki reporting to Page, this change will free Page from having as many direct reports and product units to oversee so that he can better focus on the bigger picture, the report adds. Last week, Omid Kordestani became Google's permanent chief business officer after he temporarily took over the position three months ago from departing Chief Business Officer Nikesh Arora.
Alan Eustace, who oversees an area called Knowledge that includes key areas of engineering; Amit Singhal, who heads up search; Sridhar Ramaswamy, who leads ads and commerce; and Urs Holzle, who oversees technical infrastructure and Dave Besbris, who leads social, and Jen Fitzpatrick, who oversees maps, will report to Pichai, according to Bloomberg.
It is already known that Samsung is working on new A series smartphones with a premium look. The Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5 already appeared in several leaks, even the press images of the Galaxy A5 surfaced earlier this month. Now user agent profile of the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A700FD) has surfaced on the official Samsung website.
This reveals full HD display at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 64-bit processor based on ARMv8-A CPU. This could be Snapdragon 410 SoC. All the three A series smartphones are likely to use the same chip. This could come with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera, similar to Galaxy A5, according to earlier rumors.
These would run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box with TouchWiz obviously. Samsung is yet to reveal details about the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) rollout for their smartphones. The Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A7 smartphones are rumored to launch in November.
